WTF?! CBS/AP Creates a Picture of Obama with one Side of his Face Darker Than the Other?

I am writing this with a complete sense of disbelief. This is a picture credited to “CBS/AP” and, well… look at it:
Yeah, that’s really creepy. They chose to divide the president’s face in half and then make one side darker than the other. And of course the darker side is the one with the Democrats on it; and the lighter side is the one with the Republicans on it.

How could anyone think that changing the President’s skin tone like this would be a good idea? This has got to be either one of the most racially insensitive and just plain ol’ stupid photoshops a major news organization has done since Time Magazine blackened OJ Simpson’s face. The idiocy of this is only heightened by the fact that Obama’s heritage is mixed.
So after months of specious accusations of racism, CBS and the AP appear to be delivering the real thing.
Well, either that or they are trying to say Obama is really Bele:
Ironically, I think our president is enough of a nerd to have gotten that joke without the photographic aid.
(And I call him a “nerd” affectionately.)

It’s not like Obama lost favor with the right because he’s too black, or with the left because he’s too white. In fact, blacks shifted to the right by 5% this election. Should we photoshop all of them with a white arm?
This argument works just as well if Obama’s black on the right and white on the left, which was the point of the show. People who want to chop out society into little enemy teams need to ____ity ___.

I read a couple of books a couple of years ago about the politics of the “millenials.” If Obama had actually tried to govern from the center, there might be a threat to the Republicans, at least the tea party wing.
The Democrats are all about tactics. If you read their blogs, as I do, you see almost nothing about policy. They assume that, given sufficient exposure to left wing ideology, everyone would agree with it. It never occurs to them that, as Reagan once said of communism, left wing ideology is insanity. It doesn’t work and that has been proven over and over again. Young people tend to buy it in times of prosperity because they are constantly indoctrinated in school but, given a chance to see a real test of whether it works, they are disillusioned.
I read in disbelief my daughter’s class material at U of Arizona. It came right out of Daily Kos diaries. She is now back in California, has a pretty decent job as a waitress and is going to school in San Diego, seeking admission to SD State in the spring. She is learning from the school of hard knocks and there is no better place to learn. Another waiter didn’t show up for work the other night and suddenly she was getting twice the number of customers she is supposed to. She has only been a waitress for a couple of months after being promoted from hostess. She had a panic attack. Her mother went over and got her and took her to dinner and she calmed down.
She was back to work her next shift and the manager was apologetic. There is just no better experience than that. My kids that are left wing are the most educated and had the least work experience at menial and low status jobs.
The precious lefties like Obama will never understand that. They are all theory. I had at least 20 jobs of various kinds from the age of 9 on. I was a union member (The Teamsters) and even attended a strike vote. I was in the Warehouseman’s Union. I worked with guys who were illiterate. You can’t have better experience.

The DK article was hysterical. The author never considers how that was precisely how folks felt two years ago, when this Adminstration’s goals became clear. And when 2012 goes further, they will continue to stamp their feet and hold their breath. Why can’t everyone be as smart and edgy and cool as they are?
And as for Professor Yelverton? Well, I think he knows full well how Obama and company used his own Progressive dreams against him. I love how Zamfir of the Panpipes rails against the corporate interests and elites. How much is that India trip costing? And he even throws in the insulting term for a Tea Party person. As always, classy. Manufactured threats, in a thread where the DK post was discussed? Really?
My favorite bit was the foreign funding and polluter smear against the Republicans. Because, of course, Obama and his cronies haven’t taken a dime of foreign money, and didn’t completely screw up the Gulf.
Then he finishes by playing the tired racist canard.
It’s not the color of Obama’s skin that rankles, as Dennis Miller puts it. It’s the thinness of that skin.
And that goes for the whole foot stomping hissy fit Progressive wing right now.

Mike K, I am recalling your post awhile back, about learning the use of tools and the hand/mind connection. You must be a great Dad. When I graduated in 1983, unemployment was 10.8% and after six months of sleeping ’til noon, I got a job in a warehouse nights. Working with Carribean immigrants who were happy for the $6/hour job, and would go to another one in the morning. I could not believe my college degree was so worthless, how could I have been sold this bill of goods?:-) Anyway, I was a fast learner in school, but a slow learner in the school-of-hard-knocks. Thanks for your comments, especially about work experience at menial jobs.
