Reporter Reminds Us That The Contempt With Which The MSM Is Regarded, Is Well Deserved (UPDATE ADDED)

What better opportunity than “an intentional act” of an exploding bomb for the MSM to display its habitual double-standards. At issue is last night’s “bombing” in NYC and Donald Trump’s comments.

Cue the hysteria:

Trump says ‘bomb’ went off in New York before details of explosion confirmed

Donald Trump said at a campaign rally here Saturday night that a “bomb went off” in New York City, as initial reports about a possible explosion in Manhattan were circulating.

“I must tell you that just before I got off the plane, a bomb went off in New York and nobody knows exactly what’s going on,” said Trump shortly after he deplaned at a rally at a hangar here. It was not immediately clear based on reports what exactly unfolded in New York.

The Associated Press reported around the same time as Trump’s remark that firefighters were at the scene of a possible building explosion in the city.

Trump added: “But boy, we are living in a time — we better get very tough, folks. We better get very, very tough. We’ll find out. It’s a terrible thing that’s going on in our world, in our country and we are going to get tough and smart and vigilant. … We’ll see what it is. We’ll see what it is.”

Cue further outrage from various other media news outlets.

However, missing from the gasping scolds’ reporting is that last night Hillary Clinton also referenced bombs exploding:

“I’ve been briefed about the bombings in New York and New Jersey…”

Immediately, a reporter with an obvious agenda asks Clinton what she thinks about Donald Trump using the term “bomb”:

“Senator Clinton, do you have any reaction to the fact that Donald Trump, immediately upon taking the stage tonight, called the explosion in New York a “bomb”?

Amusingly, Clinton stated that she would have more to say about it, “when we actually have some facts”.

And no one blinked an eye.

Well, I think it’s important to know the facts about any incident like this.

  3. Dana, I think that for a long time, the media have “otherized” people who don’t share their values. We see it all kinds of ways. There is also a weird amnesia at play: how have the press described every Republican candidate over the years?

    Because they are wise and well informed, and we are dumb and craven, it’s very different when “their” candidate does something.

    And it’s funny. I genuinely believe that everyone except the media holds the media in contempt. Yet they have a stranglehold on media, and create the memes that sink into our brains.

    I had a smart, kind, and hard working student a couple of years ago. I never discuss politics in my lab, but she brought up how much she respected “HillRod.”

    So I asked her what specific accomplishments of Secretary Clinton earned her respect?

    She was confused that, when asked, she couldn’t really answer my question.

    Memes from folks like Jon Stewart and that Colbert person had invaded her brain.

    And I think we ALL need to do that, when we support a candidate: what specific things have they done to earn our support?

  8. What is interesting about that video is that the reporter asked the question implying Trump did wrong by mentioning a bomb. The reporter is better at staying on script than Hillary.

    Hillary had to be prompted.

    Incidentally, I was at the rally when Trump said this, and my and my girlfriend’s impressions were, as his words indicated, he left the door open for other interpretations as the fact came in. However, he suspected it was a bomb, enough to say so.

    Well he was right. Why is he being criticized for being right?

    Obviously, it was only getting and holding on to the job, and being regarded as important, and maybe wise (?) by other people in Washington. Colin Powell also wrote in the e-mails stolen by the Russians, that he respected her.

    Incidentally, when the server was in Colorado after 2013, there was one attempt by a Russian computer to break-in in 2013, and 3 by Chinese computers in 2014.

    But it looks like, like I said, she has better security.

    The hiring of the Colordo firm was done by something called Clinton Executive Services Corporation (or CESC) Tania Neild, based in Westchester reached out to them on January 3, 2013, as Hillary Clinton was prepared to leave her job as Secteray of Satte and said she had a project to redo a e-mail server and it needed the “HIGHEST security p[ossible.” They didn’t even know the name of their “top-secret client” till weeks later. The old e-mail serer ws removed form Chappaqua on JUne 23, 2013 and taken to New Jersey. The Clintons did not want any off site backup, although some seem to have been made, and the FBI got some. When the State Department was asking for its mail, Hillary Clinton’s team had David DeCamillas, the director of Business Development for Platte River Networks, do a bunch of exports and e-mail filters to provide PST files of all HRC e-mail to and from any .gov addresses.

    In 2015 they were looking for proof that they had been told to delete email but that was told to them over the telephone. The FBI also retrieved the old server (which had not been deleted with Bleachbit) on August 12, 2015. All this mostly from today’s New York Post. I also read they searched .mil addresses too.

    100,000 is the goal of Presdent Obama for the future. Of cousre it could be more, but right now there;s qutas on refugees.

    They are not a risk of terrorism just by virtue of waiting for two years.

    Theer’s a danger Europe has that the United states doesn’t. People who tarvel to Syria to fight with ISIS come back and are free.

    In the United States virtually everybody like that gets something like a 20-year prison sentence. Even for attempting to go there.

FWIW, Saturday night, CNN stayed with the Black Caucus Dinner live through Maudie’s speech and Obama’s banter while the other two cablers cut away to the 23rd St., scene to report breaking news. It was clear the lemon telecast intended to let the dinner play out while a breaking news story literally a mile or two down the street from CNN HQ was scrolled on a crawler. The agenda was clear.
