Hillary Clinton Answers A Few Questions From Her Fans, Uh, I Mean The Press…

Filed under: General — Dana @ 6:10 am

[guest post by Dana]

In a surprising move yesterday, Hillary Clinton invited the press to join her on her new campaign plane, Hill Force One . During a flight to a campaign rally, Clinton fielded questions from reporters seated at the back of the plane. We are being told that this constitutes a real “press conference,” thus ending a 270+ day holdout:

Untitled

Here are some of the more revealing takes from the “presser,” aside from the really hard-hitting questions like, “How was your Labor Day,” and “Are you ready?”:

On whether an inability to recall briefings related to email classifications indicate a “casual attitude” toward the way secrets were protected while she was secretary of state:

“No, not at all. . . . I went into to the State Department understanding classification. I’d been on the Senate Armed Services Committee for years before I was secretary of state. I take classification seriously. The fact that I couldn’t remember certain meetings, whether or not they had occurred, doesn’t in any way affect the commitment that I had and still have to the treatment of classified material.”

On whether Chelsea Clinton should no longer be involved with the Clinton foundation if she is elected president.

“We’ll reach that if I’m elected, but I just want to say how proud I am of the work the foundation has done. And it’s world-renowned for what it’s accomplished. Since my husband started it, 11.5 million people get low-cost HIV/AIDS drugs that would have had a hard time doing that. . . .They brought the price of malaria drugs down 90 percent so that is now readily available. They’re working on a program to get the antidote to heroin overdose into every high school in America, and there’s so much more.”

On whether having some of her employees go back and forth has contributed to “blurred lines” between the State Department and Clinton foundation:

“No, I don’t. Everything I did at the State Department I did in furtherance of America’s interests in our security. The State Department has said there’s absolutely no evidence of any kind of external influence, and I know that to be the fact, and I know that the people who worked with me were devoted as well to pursuing the foreign policy that the Obama administration set forth.”

So there you have it. A Hillary Clinton press conference where she gives her standard, “I’m just an innocent bystander” line, and no one pushes back.

And please, stop making such a Big Deal over the fact that she hasn’t held an official press conference in more than 273 days one day. She hasn’t done one (since yesterday), because she’s just really uncomfortable in that setting:

  1. The stench of bullshit is mighty thick this morning.

  2. Fact of life. Either Trump or Clinton will be the next President. With Clinton, your blog shuts down.

  3. I don’t think the blog shuts down, and Donald Trump has not said a word about turning over the control of Internet domain names to an international (read:Russian and Chinese government influenced) authority – and it would be a good issue for him.

On this issue, I’m afraid there’s not much of a difference between them. There could be a difference in the ultimate outcome, but that depends on a lot of imponderables.

  4. Not a press conference.

  5. I went into to the State Department understanding classification

Translation: Who’s reading the details of what she told the FBI? She actually did say that she thought (C) stood for confidential. Apparently maybe that’s wrong and it stands for Classified. But I am not sure.

Told it was wrong (is that what happened?) she was offered a chance to guess what it meant and said maybe paragraph numbering (like lawyers do in some legal documents or laws.)

The fact that I couldn’t remember certain meetings, whether or not they had occurred, doesn’t in any way affect the commitment

The question was did she know what she was supposed to be doing or not doing? She pleaded ignorance to explain possibly not following procedures.

They’re working on a program to get the antidote to heroin overdose into every high school in America,

That’s a new one. Did she arrange and ask other Democrats not to advocate that, and leave it to the foundation? There are people trying to get it into every ambulance and police car and make it available non-prescription. It is indeed an antidote to an overdose. I am not sure what it does in regard to fentanyl.

And anyway what it does mean “working on a program?” Coming up with some proposed legislation and lobbying? Would any of the companies that would benefit from this happen to contribute to the Clinton Foundation?

I suppose it won’t be as profitable as the Epi-Pen. There was a law passed and sg=igned by Presdideent Obama in 2013 encouraging or mandating or paying for or something schools to stock Epi-pens. (That’s when Mylan Pharmaceuticals really began raising the price) And a federal rule that said if a package of 2 was opened the second couldn’t be used for another pupil. And it has a 1-year expiration date. Don’t think that the 1-year expiration of the Epi-Pen is something natural.

Drug companies always make the expiration date of medications much earlier than it needs to be. Usually it’s 2 years bt Mylan Pharmaceuticals shot for 1-year. The law is the presumption is it doesn’t last any time at all. Drug companies have to get FDA approval for how long it lasts. They never apply for more than 2 years.

We didn’t have anything here about the Epi-Pen. I read a whole bunch of stories, starting from a week and ahalf ago, and each has a different thing. Like they are incorporated in the Netherlands, not just maybe for taxes but to prevent a hostile takeover. Or their lobbying teh FDA against approval for their competition. I just read one line about that, and don’t know what they did.

Everything I did at the State Department I did in furtherance of America’s interests in our security.

Well, she’s going to say that.

there’s absolutely no evidence of any kind of external influence,

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, and besides she was subject to President Obama’s instructions, so she’s not going to alter basic policy, and, because she was planning to run for president, neither would she do anything at all that could risk her getting fired. Including getting into a dispute with the CIA about Benghazi. But she could have given people lots of inside information, and advice, for one thing. She had a bunch of secret meetings in her office. Some with donors that don’t look too suspicious.

  6. In the excerpts of her “press conference” she was quick to point out how well versed she was in classification and its importance to national security.

This is in contrast to telling the FBI that she thought the “C” on documents likely had something to do with the alphabetization of paragraphs. Apparently she hadn’t wondered where the missing “A, B, D, E, F” etc were. Gee… she just couldn’t recall about 40 times (Clinton version of taking the 5th)

This being but one example of the wildly spinning needle of the Clinton “moral compass”, the Trump haters prefer Hillary as president.

Constant lies, cover ups, deceptions, etc., they find preferable to the straight talking, non-politician Donald who really has “built that” and become successful despite his many flaws.

Truly, Clinton rivals many in history for corruption and greed, and our electorate and media seems fully willy to elect her to power.

Clinton played dumb in her FBI interview to avoid the possibility/possibilities of getting caught in a lie/lies, i.e. perjury….

To avoid confessing to doing something wrong, or against regulations, on purpose.

For some things there were no good lies.

  10. That’s no press conference.

And love the media covering for her. Who cares if she’s not comfortable with them. That’s not the point. If fact the point should be for her to be uncomfortable!

Nobody just gets away with playing dumb. I can absolutely guarantee you that the Director of the FBI would not have been this lenient with an Air Force Staff Sergeant. “Oh, this so and so just isn’t very sophisticated when it comes to classification markings.”

    Ain’t happening.

Maybe the rest of the world is buying this. But I don’t think this is going away because I served with lots of types including Democrats. They’re barely Democrats, as they actually care about the country, but they are registered and therefore technically Democrats. And they know this for the complete bull***t that it is. They’re not letting it slide.

  13. Sort of an aside, but isn’t one of the most irritating things about this preezy, Tiger Beat, the fact he thinks he’s getting away with it? And he thinks he’s getting away with it because the LHMFM believes him. That’s what his boy toy, Ben Rhodes, was bragging to the NYT about. Rafsanjani is a moderate, they told the LHMFM. Did anyone except a journo school grad buy this? The same old ayatollahs are running the place.

“If you like your plan, you can keep your plan.”

No. Since the goal was redistribution of wealth, and your old plan doesn’t redistribute wealth, you can’t keep your old plan.

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/03/26/democratic-senator-health-care-law-address-mal-distribution-income.html

“Too often, much of late, the last couple three years, the mal-distribution of income in America is gone up way too much, the wealthy are getting way, way too wealthy and the middle income class is left behind,” he said. “Wages have not kept up with increased income of the highest income in America. This legislation will have the effect of addressing that mal-distribution of income in America.”

The whole point was and is to make you pay for somebody else. Did your existing plan at the
time pay for someone else? No! So you couldn’t keep it. Duh.

Most of the rest of us know we’re being lectured to by idiots. Barack Obama, David Cameron, Angela Merkel, Theresa May: “This Muhammad screaming Allahu Akbar and citing chapter and verse of the Quron embarking on his murder spree has nothing to do with Islam.” This also explains the BREXIT vote.

    Steve57 (747e61)

  14. The Brits got tired of the idiots in Brussels lecturing them. If they’re going to be lectured to by idiots, they want to at least vote for them themselves, I suppose.

Nobody just gets away with playing dumb.

It was the FBI that was playing dumb. The tack they took was taht everybody was telling them the truth, unless it was impossible to maintain taht – and then, that everyone was being honest, but maybe was mistaken. A couple of contradictions between witnesses were recorded in the report, with the FVI taking no position on which version was right. If something was not contradicted, or disproven by other evidence, it was written up as the absolute truth.

And they allowed people to correct themselves months later.

I can absolutely guarantee you that the Director of the FBI would not have been this lenient with an Air Force Staff Sergeant.

Air Force Staff Sergeants are not interviewed by FBI agents. But if the FBI interviews were to interview him in fact they maybe would be this lenient. A person maybe has to repeat his lie two or three times to get into trouble with the FBI.

Skeptical detectives re-interview and re-interview people.

“Oh, this so and so just isn’t very sophisticated when it comes to classification markings.”

    Ain’t happening.

I think you mean: “Ain’t real.”

But the FBI agents were under orders, and probably are always under orders, to presume people were telling them the truth, as best they knew. Because to say otherwise is to accuse someone talking to them of a federal crime.

Maybe the rest of the world is buying this.

The rest of the world, most of it, isn’t looking behind the FBI and drilling down into this.

Afetr all, Hillary can say, Comey is a Republican!! And a career civil servant. Who was so dedicated to doing what is right, that he challenged President Bush – a president of his own party, who had appointed him.

Of course, Senator Grassley and Congressman Gowdy don’t quite want to let this go. They don’t think they got the truth about the setting up and use of this server. They think Hillary Clinton lied to Congress.

But I don’t think this is going away because I served with lots of types including Democrats. They’re barely Democrats, as they actually care about the country, but they are registered and therefore technically Democrats. And they know this for the complete bull***t that it is. They’re not letting it slide.

While people aren’t drilling down into the FBI investigation, they also aren’t paying attention to the fact that the FBI said she told them the truth. They are not paying attention to what she said. To the extent they are, it’s not helping her.

Hillary is dropping in the polls. But there’s a big problem. She doesn’t have anyone decent to lose to.
