  7. This must be a result of global warming, or something. If we had acquiesced to the lefties’ environmental demands years ago, this could have been avoided, or whatever.

    After all, Paul Ehrlich’s “The Population Bomb” was so prescient in predicting future actuary tables. Or maybe not.

    But if the country had elected Obama in 2008, we could have avoided this. Wait. Nevermind. It’s Congress’ fault. But only the Congress’ that was seated in January 2011—not the Nancy Pelosi-led Congress of the prior two years.

    Forget it, you’re all racists. You hate the moon. Admit it.

  11. It was fine at 6pm here in West L.A. but then the clouds rolled in pretty heavy and you can’t see the sun at the maximum. Rats.

    I thought it was kind of neat that my college sent eclipse filters to all the alumni, so I could stare at it without worry.

  15. Great view from the mesa out behind my parents’ house. Shoulda got some special glasses. Made do stacking two pairs. We actually got an amazing view of a half-sun disappearing behind the horizon as we were driving home on I-25.

  17. My wife popped a hole in some tin foil. We held it up and let the light shine through onto a white board. We could see the crescent clearly without ruining our eyes.

    This is an advantage of using the internet.
