Hollywood Reporter: Fringe Leftists Threaten Makers of Occupy Unmasked

I’m overdue linking this Hollywood Reporter article from last week about threats to Lee Stranahan and Brandon Darby:

Another documentary is drawing controversy at the Republican National Convention — the filmmakers of Occupy Unmasked, starring the late Andrew Breitbart, say they’ve received dozens of threats of physical violence in advance of Thursday’s screening of the critical look at the Occupy Wall Street movement.

Some of the messages target Brandon Darby and Lee Stranahan, two former leftists who appear in the film, according to a spokesperson for Citizens United Prods, the company behind the film.

“We’ll be legitimately raping Brandon Darby and Lee Stranahan for the next several days while they are tied up with the movie premier at the RNC,” reads an email from occupyaunmasked2012@gmail.com. The email includes Darby’s and Stranahan’s cell phone numbers.

One tweet reads, “While @Shanahan is in Tampa this week, should Texas rapists be told where to find his wife since he supports the rape of everyone else?”

You know who these threats are from, of course, and it’s nothing new. It’s the same group who has been issuing similar threats to many of us for months and months. But it’s nice to have the Hollywood Reporter take note.

You may well wonder what has these people so worried. Here is the trailer:

Don’t be fooled by the “this spring” language at the end. That’s left over from a while back. It’s going to be released in three weeks, on September 25.

  5. Of all the acts and omissions the MSM should be ashamed of, the lack of even the most cursory investigation into protests is near the top.

    Every march in the past ten years has people holding identical signs with ANSWERLA on them. Not one newscaster has even been curious enough to check on what the F that is.

    In covering Occupy, not one newscaster has ever investigated who is funding or organizing it.

    The visuals, the Romantic rush to the barricades, is just too cool to check.

  6. Somewhere in that crowd Zombie(my hero) is taking photos, and always finds those ANSWER logos and signs– which the media never fail to miss(shocker). Zombie’s photos always make it clear about the event’s who, what, where and when.

    THEY ARE RUNNING A TV ADV. CLAIMING THAT THE PATRIOT ACT IS
    LAW, AND THAT WE NEED TO CHANGE IT (A CLEVER BIT OF DECEPTION).
    THEY BELIEVE THAT IF THEY RUN IT ENOUGH TIMES YOU WILL BEGIN

    Correction: the Patiot Act is not law, it conflicts with the
    Fourth Amendment and the Constitution is the supreme law of
    the land, not Congress or masonic judges. We live in a Con-
    stitutional Republic not an Oligarchy.

    Wakeup America! Our Treasonous government is waging war on
    the Constitution; either defend it or lose it.

    PS. Why isn’t the ACLU called the ACRU? We have civil rights, not
    civil liberties; and if they are concerned about our civil rights,
    why do they keep threatening to sue when we try to exercise our
    “right” to the free practice of religion. In reality, they are
    a bunch of Communists who have a secret agenda to create a secular
    state.

    While talking about increasing jobs with their taxcut for the rich,
    they are now in the process of passing an energy bill designed to
    export more of your jobs. I need not tell you that these actions
    constitute Treason!

    These Globalists talk about improving the environment, but say nothing
    about the pollution spewing forth from Mexico, China, and other third
    world countries.

    I would like to remind those Communist traitors in the government,
    that they have no jurisdictions over our “rights”: they come from
    God, and that any attempt to compromise them is an act-of-war
    against the United States — Treason.

    Organize your neighborhoods into militia units and prepare for the
    coming holocaust.

    If the war hasn’t started by November, I would suggest that you re-
    move all Freemasons and Zionists from the government.

    before the CFR, a Communist front organization; and the ADL, who
    are registered agents of the state of Israel? Could they be the
