Tucson Shooting Victim (A Leftist, Naturally) Arrested for Death Threat

Would it be uncivil to say that this doesn’t seem very civil?

Thanks to Dana.

  1. But, but, but he has Absolute Moral Authoriteh to be upset! Do not judge him.

  2. Maybe this is the “mental illness” that the LAT was talking about. After all, Fuller did work for Gifford’s campaign, and did make his living collecting signatures, or something.

Oh wait, he’s a liberal. Forget it.

  3. i had heard about this about when it happened, but figured I would hold off. but the coverage of this event is starting to make it into a story and i will probably post a little on it later today.

  4. Fuller made the death threat to the Tea Partier on January 15, 2011.

On his homepage, Fuller made these statements January 11, 2011 – before the shooting, hence before PTSD (as suggested) would have been a cause for his death threat eruption:

What are you looking for on this site?
KIndred spirits and an opportunity to advocate my personal agenda promoting social justice and common sense

    Areas of Specialty:
I use extraordinary persuasive charisma to interest blase, apathetic, oblivious and at times hostile voters to listen to the voice of justice and consanguinity. My experiences encountering public figures and many affluent travelers in person has led me to believe that we all are to blame for George W. Bush.

Well, at least that’s a switch.

  6. Justice and consanguinity? So none of us can get married now?

  7. “Do not judge him”

I judge as follows: This guy needs to spend a night in jail to cool off, and then be turned loose, and someone needs to tell him that if he goes around threatening people, and someone decides to shoot him for making death threats, then no charges will be filed against the person that does it.

You want to go around threatening people with death (other than through legal methods), then you have no bitch if someone takes it seriously, and dusts you off to protect themselves.

That’s the way I’d judge it.

  8. Persuasive charisma? I blame Palin.

  9. If we are to believe that hateful rhetoric is to blame for political violence, then Fuller’s threat of violence can be blamed on the media who leveled blame for his injuries on the Tea Party before having the facts to back that up.

But don’t expect the leftists who blamed the Tea Party for the Tucson shooting to blame themselves for Fuller’s death threats.

  10. More from Fuller via….Media Matters:

Asked if he thought Palin or other media commentators had an impact on the shooting, he said:

“Definitely. Let’s say through some fluke Jared Loughner never ever heard of Sarah Palin or [Glenn] Beck or Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity and the rest of the crime syndicate, and dreamed it all up on his own, that he’d go over there and wack her.

“There are still plenty of demented people that are in need of a good spanking who are out there and plenty of access with the gun shops to assault weapons thanks to the son of privilege letting that expire. There is the matter of the media attention to it. It is going to make this even more desirable yet.

“If you are going to scream hatred and preach hatred, you’re going to sow it after a while if you’ve got a soap box like they’ve got. We’ve got a surplus of demented dingbats, wackos.”

Fuller went on to criticize national media outlets that allow violent rhetoric on the air: “I would put Sarah Palin in first place there. I think, really, she should be incarcerated for treason for advocating assassinating public officials. That map I saw that she published on the Internet had crosshairs on it and one of them was meant for Gabrielle Giffords.

Clicked your link just to be sure but knew there’d be no reference to the fact that Markos Moulitsas put an actual, target, bullseye on “her” too, not a location marker that looked exactly like a surveyor symbol. And that he tried to scrub that fact as well, before screenshots by bloggers made him honest.

“Oh but he was just targeting a district for political action, not a person for assassination!” But someone on the right gets no such clarification. Especially not Palin.

These people are so dishonest it’s sickening.

  12. KIndred spirits and an opportunity to advocate my personal agenda promoting social justice and common sense

“Hey everyone, let’s go find a Tea Partier and kill ’em! Who’s with me??!!!

  13. Noyk – it was predicted by some very wise people that Fuller would run to the loving embrace of mediamatterz, thinkregress, and their ilk. Yelverton hearts Fuller.

    JD (0d2ffc)

  14. Those folks that used Fuller, Media Matters and the other lefty outfit, should be ashamed of themselves. He was obviously unhinged in the interviews and instead of trying to get the guy to come back to reality they just egged on his ‘crazy’ for the politics. And now the guy is locked up. So much for responsible journalism with these leftie outlets.

The post on there did not have bullseye image, that was photoshopped later. The article did use the words “this vote certainly puts a bulls eye on their district.”

  16. More semantic bullshlt from the leftist hypocrites. DCCC, DLC, and any number of other documented images have been shown, with some using actual crosshairs. Your sophistry is pathetic.

Would need evidence about that timing; all I know is that Kos has not disputed the presence of the bullseye. Also, Kos scrubbed that post, knowing he had something to be criticized about (not assassination-encouragement but lying and hypocrisy).

In addition, here are several more bullseyes for you. Courtesy of the Democratic Leadership Council.

Liars and hypocrites. That is the far left for you, willing to do just about anything to smear those they oppose politically.

  18. Here are some actual crosshairs. Of a rifle. On an individual person, not a map of a district.

Please, go educate yourself. And stop spreading misinformation.

    He has.

“Also, Kos scrubbed that post, knowing he had something to be criticized about (not assassination-encouragement but lying and hypocrisy). ”

It’s still up and still contains the phrase I quoted for you.

“DCCC, DLC, and any number of other documented images have been shown, with some using actual crosshairs. Your sophistry is pathetic.”

This example not working, some other list works. Fake but accurate.

It is NOT “still up“. It is “back up.” Only the quick screenshots of bloggers forced Moulitsas to be honest and put his post back up. The takedown has also been well documented, so please stop this ridiculous — as JD put it so well – sophistry.

  22. He said earlier this week he was hit by a bullet when he dove to the ground to play dead. He decided that because he didn’t have any medical training to help others, he walked to his car and drove himself to the nearest hospital.

Am I the only one whose BS meter is twitching over this?

    Gerald A (8d3568)

  23. He decided that because he didn’t have any medical training to help others, he walked to his car and drove himself to the nearest hospital.

Funny, since at least one person was going around telling people who had no training how to render aid.

But considering how stupid this guy seems, it is possible he did the right thing. After all, would YOU want a complete and utter moron helping you, if there are other possible aid-givers around?

I’d pick the slow kid that bags groceries over Fuller any day of the week.

  24. A liberal hater. Go figure. As soon as he makes bail he will be lauded a hero, live on the Ed Schultz show.

    Icy Texan (8ea924)

  25. Gerald – frankly, that is exactly what I would expect like someone like Fuller.
