Hillary Clinton Is Not Having A Very Good Week

Filed under: General — Dana @ 5:39 pm

[guest post by Dana]

Terrible week for Hillary Clinton. The email scandal won’t go away in spite of her team attempting to convince us that it’s just a bunch of “nonsense” that comes with being a presidential candidate.

Except that none of the other combined 21 candidates is facing a criminal investigation into their email.

And now, on top of her already not very good week, Clinton finds herself being shamefully surpassed in the polls by a member of the white patriarchy. As if watching her lock on white women voters slip away wasn’t enough…

Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders has rocketed past longtime front-runner Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire, a stunning turn in a race once considered a lock for the former secretary of state, a new Franklin Pierce University/Boston Herald poll shows.

Sanders leads Clinton 44-37 percent among likely Democratic primary voters, the first time the heavily favored Clinton has trailed in the 2016 primary campaign, according to the poll of 442 Granite-Staters.

Vice President Joe Biden got 9 percent support in the test primary match-up. The other announced Democrats in the race, former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, former Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee and former Virginia Gov. Jim Webb, barely register at 1 percent or below.

The Franklin Pierce/Herald poll shows that most New Hampshire Democrats are lukewarm to Clinton, despite her campaign’s concerted effort to soften her image and connect with voters.

Just 35 percent of likely primary voters say they are “excited” about Clinton’s campaign, according to the poll. And 51 percent of voters say that while they could support her, they aren’t enthusiastic about her White House bid.

In the same poll taken back in March, Sanders was trailing Clinton by a by a 44-8 margin.

Further worries for Clinton:

“Washington sources say Vice President Joe Biden is waiting in the wings for the Obama administration to run her over so he can step in and run for president.”

Poor Hillary Clinton. Not only must she be on guard from that ever-present vast right-wing conspiracy, but now a left-wing conspiracy as well!

(Imagine if you will, Biden and Trump both in the race. The competition for sheer outlandishness and audacity will ramp up immeasurably…)

And speaking of Clinton, don’t miss this hilarious parody of her email scandal. Because she keeps giving so much material to work with.

  3. I know when I have boring emails that my wife asks to see, I delete the emails and destroy the hard drives.

It’s because I have nothing to hide and I don’t want her to be bothered with such trivial things. This is how we know this “scandal” is just a right wing conspiracy.

  8. When I was 18 and first registered to vote I was, believe it or not, a Democrat.

By the time I was 19 I was convinced Democrats were a mortal threat to the country.

And that was before I figured out the devastating effects of their policies. I just looked at the people who they were willing to vote into office and I was like, holy mother of g_d!!!

  9. The movie that just keeps on giving! I may be one of the few people who have ever seen the real movie with the real dialogue.

I predict Clinton will never be called to account for her criminal acts. She will somehow arrange a deal where she surrenders her law license and slither off to a dark cave under the Misty Mountains and grow increasingly bitter and paranoid about “my precious” until the mountains themselves crumble to the sea.

  13. Lyrics

    There’s a port on a western bay
And it serves a hundred ships a day
Lonely sailors pass the time away
    And talk about their homes

And there’s a girl in this harbor town
And she works layin’ whiskey down
They say “Brandy, fetch another round”
She serves them whiskey and wine

    [Chorus]
The sailors say “Brandy, you’re a fine girl” (you’re a fine girl)
“What a good wife you would be” (such a fine girl)
“Yeah your eyes could steal a sailor from the sea”

    Brandy wears a braided chain
Made of finest silver from the North of Spain
A locket that bears the name
Of the man that Brandy loves

He came on a summer’s day
    Bringin’ gifts from far away
But he made it clear he couldn’t stay
    No harbor was his home

    [Chorus]

Yeah, Brandy used to watch his eyes
When he told his sailor stories
She could feel the ocean foam rise
    She saw its ragin’ glory
But he had always told the truth, lord, he was an honest man
And Brandy does her best to understand

At night when the bars close down
Brandy walks through a silent town
And loves a man who’s not around
She still can hear him say

    [Chorus]

    “Brandy, you’re a fine girl” (you’re a fine girl)

“What a good wife you would be” (such a fine girl)
“But my life, my love, and my lady is the sea”…

  22. Expect this is merely Obama trying to gum up the works for Hillary ’16. It won’t ever get near an indictment, but it will allow The One to pick the Dem candidate. Question is, WHO? I don’t get that at all. Obama desperately needs a Democrat to win next year, since even the feckless and feeble GOP is likely to hollow out (if not repeal) Obamacare if they win the Presidency and hold Congress in 2016. They also could seriously slow down the progress that the left has made with the federal bureaucracy (especially the Justice Department). And most importantly, Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be 83 next year and Steven Breyer will be 77. Couple that with both Scalia and Kennedy soon to turn 80 and the next President may end up with as many as four Supreme Court appointments, especially if he or she serves two terms. Despite what he may personally think of Hillary!, Obama would be making a huge wager to try to push Biden or Sanders over the finish line. He is a big enough narcissist to think he can do it, but I would have guessed he would act with more caution.

  28. We should have a contest: Name the most credible Democrat candidate. It’s not as easy as it looks.

    So far we have:

    Bernie Sanders
Liz Warren (not this year, thank you)
    Governor Whatsisname from Baltimore
Some senator’s son from Rhode Island
    Jim Webb (believes in America)

BREAKING: Judge orders Clinton barn door locked.

    Steve57 (5a07a9)

  55. Hillary!’s week is not getting better.

    http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2015/08/16/number-of-classified-emails-on-hillarys-private-server-grows-to-60/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

…While media coverage has focused on a half-dozen of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s personal emails containing sensitive intelligence, the total number of her private emails identified by an ongoing State Department review as having contained classified data has ballooned to 60, officials told The Washington Times.

…The 60 emails are among those that have been reviewed and cleared for release under the Freedom of Information Act as part of a open-records lawsuit. Some of the emails have multiple redactions for classified information.

Among the first 60 flagged emails, nearly all contained classified secrets at the lowest level of “confidential” and one contained information at the intermediate level of “secret,” officials told the Times.

Those 60 emails do not include two emails identified in recent days by Intelligence Community Inspector General I. Charles McCullough III as containing “top-secret” information…

Her defenders are of course circling the wagons, but their story is just as ridiculous as Clinton’s.

The State Department is taking the line of Hillary Clinton’s that material in her personal email server was not classified at the time, and State is not accepting the intelligence inspector general’s determination that some information was top secret.

“None of them were classified at the time,” Mark C. Toner, State’s deputy spokesman, told reporters this week…

Yeah, well, it’s not their call. What the IGs are talking about publicly is not originated by the DoS. The DoS is a member of the IC due to their Bureau of Intelligence and Research, but they produce intel that is tailored to support the DoS.

The IGs are not talking about information from the INR. They have mentioned information originated by other members of the IC.

So we run into the little problem of Originating Classification Authority. If the information is produced by other agencies, as the IC AGs have said, then the DoS has no authority to determine if that information is classified or not. The OCA makes the call, and if the information has already been classified by the OCA at another department or agency then no one at State has any authority to reclassify it or declassify it.

Frankly I don’t think the Secretary of State has the authority on her own to declassify any classified information.

So if, and I’m just throwing out examples, the originator was the Defense Intelligence Agency or the Office of Naval Intelligence then they have the only say as to whether that information was classified and when.

It doesn’t matter what Mr. Slater or anyone at DoS has to say about it; they weren’t the OCA.

    And Hillary!s week gets worse.

Platte River Networks, the Denver-based cybersecurity firm Hillary Clinton hired in 2013 to maintain her old email server, says it is “highly likely” a full backup of the device was made and that the thousands of emails Clinton deleted may still exist, ABC News is reporting.

On Wednesday, Platte River gave the FBI the server Clinton used as secretary of state. The Democratic presidential candidate had stated numerous times prior to that that she would not relinquish control of the server to a third party.

But the FBI became interested in the hardware after the revelation that the Intelligent Community inspector general had determined that two emails that traversed the server contained “top secret” information. While Clinton is not believed to have sent the emails in question, the finding undermines her claims at the onset of the email scandal in March that no classified information ever landed on her server…

    Read more: http://dailycaller.com/2015/08/16/report-highly-likely-that-theres-a-full-backup-of-hillarys-email-server-video/#ixzz3j1wWOoce

The highlighted portion is just flat wrong. We know Hillary! sent those emails. She sent them to Platte River Networks. Some people at Platte River Networks my have an active security clearance but clearly not all the employees do, and it is not an accredited facility for handling and storing classified information.

So by turning over the contents of her server to uncleared members of the public she sent those emails. That meets the definition of publishing classified information, as if she wrote a book without submitting it for a security review or sent all her emails to wikileaks. Legally there is no difference.

    Steve57 (5a07a9)

  56. A couple of links, just so everyone knows nothing I said is classified.

    http://fas.org/sgp/clinton/eo12958.html

    THE WHITE HOUSE

    Office of the Press Secretary

    For Immediate Release — April 17, 1995

    EXECUTIVE ORDER 12958

    CLASSIFIED NATIONAL SECURITY INFORMATION

This order prescribes a uniform system for classifying, safeguarding, and declassifying national security information. Our democratic principles require that the American people be informed of the activities of their Government. Also, our Nation’s progress depends on the free flow of information. Nevertheless, throughout our history, the national interest has required that certain information be maintained in confidence in order to protect our citizens, our democratic institutions, and our participation within the community of nations. Protecting information critical to our Nation’s security remains a priority. In recent years, however, dramatic changes have altered, although not eliminated, the national security threats that we confront. These changes provide a greater opportunity to emphasize our commitment to open Government.

NOW, THEREFORE, by the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered as follows:

    PART 1 ORIGINAL CLASSIFICATION

As you can see, it’s marked “For Immediate Release” by the WH press secretary. WH press secretaries aren’t given classified information to release to the public. Only unclassified information.

Then the Director of Central Intelligence, based on the authority of E.O.s like this one, was in charge of establishing that uniform government wide system. The DCI did that by issuing DCI Directives or DCIDs.

    https://fas.org/irp/offdocs/dcid.htm

    DCIDs:
    Director of Central Intelligence Directives

Director of Central Intelligence Directives (DCIDs) were formerly the principal instrument for defining intelligence community-wide policies. Since the establishment and the appointment of the Director of National Intelligence in 2005, however, many DCIDs have been updated, modified, replaced or reissued by the DNI as Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs). DCIDs that have been publicly released include the following. Somewhat awkwardly, they are indexed by CIA in “old” (P) and “new” categories, as listed below.

Everything I’ve said is in the public domain. I have no idea what the current system consists of, but what is in the public domain has been how this system had worked for decades.
