The Gloating Begins
Daily Kos says the capitulation is a “huge victory.” And here he says: “quite frankly, they lost.”
Harry Reid: “This is a significant victory for our country, for democracy, and for all Americans.”
Remember this when some mush-head says: looks like both sides are upset, so it must be a good compromise.
UPDATE: MyDD: “We can hold our heads high and tell our friends and family that we won. They can’t do that.”
Indeed.

I could ring McCain’s neck. WTF is with this guy? I swear, if Hillary said she’d put the National Guard on the Mexican border, I’d vote for her. What was the point of sending my hard earned cash to elect these wimps? Not a dime more. We need someone like Delay in the Senate. He’d get these RINOs in line. And it sure wouldn’t hurt for W to channel a bit of LBJ. Heavens above, do you really think if the situation was reversed, the democrats would give even a passing thought to Republican “minority” rights? What a bunch of pussies. I’m ashamed.

GOP Caves on Filibuster? !
Patterico has more wonderful news (I’m in a foul mood tonight) for the conservatives who gave Republicans a majority in the Senate (a party which does not have a clue how to govern).
The Constitution is merely a pawn in the McCain v Frist ‘08 Swee…

Frist doesn’t think its a victory for our country, our democracy and all americans? How divisive.

We Democrats have lost a whole bunch of fights over the past 5 years. This is a lot better than we usually get.
This isn’t the whole story, but I think it has some explanatory relevance.
