TrumpenGropeGate: Four Women Say Trump Groped or Inappropriately Touched Them

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 6:05 pm

Jessica Leeds and Rachel Crooks.

According to Ms. Leeds, Mr. Trump grabbed her breasts and tried to put his hand up her skirt.

“He was like an octopus,” she said. “His hands were everywhere.”

She fled to the back of the plane. “It was an assault,” she said.

Ms. Leeds has told the story to at least four people close to her, who also spoke with The New York Times.

. . . .

They shook hands, but Mr. Trump would not let go, [Crooks] said. Instead, he began kissing her cheeks. Then, she said, he “kissed me directly on the mouth.”

It didn’t feel like an accident, she said. It felt like a violation.

Cassandra Searles.

“He probably doesn’t want me telling the story about that time he continually grabbed my ass and invited me to his hotel room.”

Mindy McGillvray.

“‘Donald just grabbed my ass!’ . . . This was a pretty good nudge. More of a grab. . It was pretty close to the center of my butt.”

I’m sure that’s the end of it. (That would be sarcasm.) If you lived through the California recall election and remember Ahh-nold and Gropegate, this may sound familiar.

Get to work calling them liars, Trumpers.

Also, make sure to remind us that Bill Clinton sexually assaulted women — and called them liars.

Et Tu, L.A. Times Daily Tracker?? Trump Down in Trumpiest of Trumpy Polls

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 9:00 am

Lately, when every poll has been showing Trump down, some by double digits, there was always Old Reliable: the L.A. Times daily tracker, which consistently has Trump up when everyone else has him down. (When I was covering the bias of the L.A. Times for years, I never imagined I would be saying that their poll consistently skews towards the Republican candidate!) Today, for the first time in a month, the poll has Hillary up, albeit barely:

With the national polls trashing Trump’s chances every day, I have been hearing denial from the pro-Trump crowd. The NBC/WSJ poll showing Hillary up by 9-11 points? Skewed sample and run by a Hillary guy! The Atlantic/PRRI poll showing Hillary up by 11 points? The astounding pro-Hillary numbers for women are not to be believed! My answer has been: perhaps. Let’s keep watching.

And so we are. And this . . . is not a good sign for the Trumpers.

For what it’s worth, there are several disastrous (for Trump) state polls dropping today. I’ll leave those for others to report in more detail. But for now, I’ll just say:

When you’ve lost the L.A. Times daily tracker . . .

UPDATE: The New York Times says this is the result of a single black voter not being in the sample. That makes this poll seem ever sillier than it already seemed. Now, if Trumpers can just come up with a way to dismiss the new polls from Utah, and Wisconsin, and Ohio…and the reports about the state of play in Georgia and Arizona…why then, Trump is home free!

Trump Walked In On Miss Teen USA Contestants While They Were Changing — Some As Young As 15

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 7:53 am

The other day I highlighted for you the story about Trump bragging about bursting in on beauty contestants while they were changing. Some of those beauty contestants are now speaking out and confirming the story — and some of them were as young as 15 years old:

Four women who competed in the 1997 Miss Teen USA beauty pageant said Donald Trump walked into the dressing room while contestants — some as young as 15 — were changing.

“I remember putting on my dress really quick because I was like, ‘Oh my god, there’s a man in here,’” said Mariah Billado, the former Miss Vermont Teen USA.

Trump, she recalled, said something like, “Don’t worry, ladies, I’ve seen it all before.”

Three other women, who asked to remain anonymous for fear of getting engulfed in a media firestorm, also remembered Trump entering the dressing room while girls were changing. Two of them said the girls rushed to cover their bodies, with one calling it “shocking” and “creepy.” The third said she was clothed and introduced herself to Trump.

. . . .

Until now it was never alleged that this behavior extended to the teen pageant, in which contestants can be as old as 19 or as young as 14.

The defense will be that they are Hillary voters, but that argument does not quite hold up:

“I don’t support either” Trump or Clinton, said Billado, the former Miss Vermont. Of the other three who remember Trump coming into the dressing room, one said she was also undecided but would not vote for Trump, and another said she’s a Democrat. A third said she was not voting for Trump and wouldn’t say more because “this is not about politics.” But, she added, “When he started running for president, that is one of the first things I thought about: Oh, gross, this guy walked in on us in the pageant.” Girls were “just scrambling to grab stuff,” she said, “whatever garments they had.”

The idea that Trump would actually do this is not shocking to many of us. But lately, a contingent of Trump supporters has argued that Trump’s “grab them by the p***y” comments were mere braggadocio, and that we don’t know Trump actually did that. (Never mind the increasing number of women who claimed Trump grabbed or kissed them inappropriately. Never mind that he didn’t say he was joking. We Trumpers know: he was joking!) This story is another nail in the coffin of the argument of the Trumpers that “when Trump talks about doing inappropriate things to women, he’s just bragging.” Apparently not. Apparently, when Donald Trump is near attractive women, sexual assault or other seriously inappropriate behavior may be on the menu.

Even if they are teenagers.

Isn’t he just the best?
