“Because You’d Be in Jail”: Trump Threatens Special Prosecutor for Hillary

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 6:59 pm

Trump landed the first big blow of the debate, threatening a special prosecutor for Hillary Clinton if he is elected.

Hillary replied that the American people should be glad Trump is not in charge of the justice system, and Trump replied: “Because you’d be in jail.”

  2. That was good. Thank you for watching this for me, Patterico. Can we form an angry mob and ride both of these slimes out of the country on a rail?

  4. Trump should go far further in purges when he gains power (he’ll have to, to save his life and his power against GOP and other traitors), but this can be part of the thing.

  5. I am trying to be as objective as possible, but Trump is beating Hillary tonight. It will be interesting to see how the media spins this. Be aware, I don’t like either one of them.

  7. And here I Thought that Trump’s kittens would come home to roost tonight but I was wrong. Hillary let a great title of vantage go to waste. In the end I thought he edged her outs.

PS did you all see the Barack Obama ribs and kitties quote and Bill Clinton’s quote about Hillary eating more that he ever had?

  8. As a non-fan of either candidate I would say that both managed to land a few blows but Trump won it overall. I wish he’d stayed with the Constitution on the SCOTUS question and reminded people the job of the court isn’t to make laws and social engineer but to determine the Constitutionality of the laws passed. Hillary left that wide open for him and he passed on it. He was classy at the end complimenting her and not talking about himself (amazing in itself) while she made it all about her and complimented him by default. All I know is that if Trump drops in polls, does poorly and loses and Hannity starts ranting about nevertrumpers and Cruz supporters sabotaging Trump OR if Trump wins and his presidency turns out to be a cra* shoot I can honestly say “I Don’t Own This!”
I am so ready for this to be over. Hunker down and take shelter is my motto for the next month.

  9. Unlike Juan Williams, I think that Trump standing the whole time was a good move. Everything about Clinton was calculated.

  10. I agree, Ag80. He didn’t enter her space, or appear IPAs if he were trying to intimidate her. It was fine.

  12. Last comment: Compare and contrast when the two said about appointing Supreme Court justices. That’s only important to a few people, but it is very important to the nation.

  13. No mention of the Constituition re SCJ’s. Old, outdated and if all goes well for the D’s, irrelevant.

  14. and now Megyn has not asked a single debate question of DJT’s spokesperson immediately after Luntz declared DJT is back – a self-acknowledged 180 by Luntz.

The game is on – minimize and marginalize the success (debate) itself. Talk only about indefensible remarks.

Diminish, reduce, marginalize, IGNORE the debate itself. At all cost.

  15. The most important thing is, of course, for Trump to lose. But it will be sweeter — the cherry on top, so to speak — if he loses unfairly through media chicanery. They’re the ones who put him up there in the first place.

I noticed that Hillary Clinton acknowledged hat Trump had a list – and then said some of them – only some? wanted to reverse Roe v Wade and same sex marriage/,

  18. And now the first take of history on this epic encounter tonight, per Megyn, demands we look at a PRIOR DEBATE!

    Just stunning.

what piggy actually said was a little more chilling:

“it’s awfully good that someone with the temperament of Donald Trump is not in charge of the law in our country”

  21. Well, so much for Firefox and Red State. Red State is infected with the “Firefox patch” virus. (It’s spread by adware). It’s not the only site that’s infected, though, and this is a vulnerability that Mozilla apparently cannot fix. So bye-bye, Firefox.

    Yes indeed. Brrrrrrr moment.

  23. You’ll be in charge of the law Miss Hillary? You?

  24. Hillary replied that the American people should be glad Trump is not in charge of the justice system, and Trump replied: “Because you’d be in jail.”

This wass not accurate, because then there’d bean active RICO investigation, which the Clintons would do the best to stretch out, and she would never have talked to the FBI.

They’d also try to feed the prosecutorial beast other meat, and when and if something came up, they’d do their best also to get a legally defective indictment, by making the path pf the prosecution easier if by no other way, and they’d try to get a DC jury, when if something came up.
