DoJ Report Completely and Utterly Exonerates Darren Wilson

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 8:42 pm

The report could not be more clear: according to all the credible evidence, Officer Wilson acted in reasonable self-defense:

Does anyone who pushed the narrative that Michael Brown was an innocent victim of a racist violent cop want to apologize now?

Yeah, I didn’t think so.

P.S. The meme has been “Hands up, don’t shoot!”

Except his hands weren’t up:

And he didn’t say “don’t shoot!”

Other than that, great meme.

  2. let’s not forget people like and especially Ben Thompson , who was just all over how great it was that there was “Black Twitter” for the community in Ferguson.

  3. dang, clicked too early. Anyway, I have a fairly high tolerance for liberals in my tech news and commentary but after that I just turn off if Ben Thompson shows up, even on This Week in Tech.

Saying that getting out a message regardless of its accuracy or effects of spreading such false hoods is a person showing they value politics over tech.

    what an aççhole .

  4. I’m sure that Darren Wilson is asking the same question now, that Ray Donovan asked 30-years ago:
What window do I go to to get my reputation back?
Destruction by innuendo and lie is a Leftist speciality.

  5. I’m so glad that Darren Wilson has been exonerated. However, that RACIST PIG who shot Michael Brown, the ANGELIC TEEN BLACK YOUNG MAN CHILD BOY TEEN STUDENT, must be brought to JUSTICE!!!!
I mean, this Wilson dude is probably just a rogue cop who couldn’t help himself from being RACIST, because ALL OF US ARE. But the guy who shot Little Mikey Brown, needs to be punished.
HANDS UP, DON’T SHOOT. We are in deep shyte folks. Fight back. I do.

  6. But you know, racism is still obviously prevalent in Ferguson because blacks make up 93% of all arrests there.

We’ll just overlook the fact that they also make up 67% of the citizenry too, and that even in progressive college towns like Berkeley and Ann Arbor blacks are arrested at rates much higher than their percentage of the population.

  7. How is Officer Wilson to be made whole?

We so deserve the turmoil to come. It’s one thing to be blindsided. Quite another to be the pig who refused to build a brick home.

What will be the definitive work which defines our time? “Never Again”? As in, never again will a people enjoy such blessings only to have blown them.

  8. So, just to play Al Sharpton’s Eric Holder’s Devil’s advocate, how do we lower the standards for a federal civil rights violation prosecutions in order to convict people like Darren Wilson who have been completely and utterly exonerated?

    Steve57 (813c29)

  9. It’s the same civil rights law that forbids police departments from requiring more than petite girl size, weight and strength in their recruits. I don’t think that Darren Wilson was guilty of anything more than being in a job he could not handle without a gun, but that’s something in and of itself. He should not go to jail but he should not be a street cop either.

  10. So, nk, how would you have overpowered a 6’3″ 300lb man all by your lonesome?

    Steve57 (813c29)

  11. We have a substantial pool of potential recruits who could meet nk’s height/weight/strength standard for “street cop.”

Unfortunately, they’d rather play in the NFL or wrestle in the WWE.

On the other hand there are people of more normal stature who have the physical skills to handle somebody of Michael Brown’s size and strength. But having put in the investment of time and sweat to acquire those skills they rather go pro as a MMA fighter.

Do tell, nk, how you would have handled the situation better?

    Steve57 (813c29)

  12. I, personally, dropped out of the police academy.

Like I said, police departments are not allow to impose height, weight, and upper bodily strength requirements that keep out 5′, 100lb. women. That’s my criticism.

Whether Darren Wilson needed to bite more than he could chew is not something I’m qualified to talk about. He was there, it was his assessment of the situation, his call. I was not.

  13. They’re also not allowed to give written exams that measure over 105 IQ, according to at least one opinion authored by the wise Latina when she was on the court of Appeals. That also creates a disparate impact on liberal delusions.

  15. 10.So, nk, how would you have overpowered a 6’3″ 300lb man all by your lonesome?

The same way Jean François Kerry overpowered France: with a hug!

    Hoagie (58a3ec)

  16. The only question is whether Brown should be given the Darwin Award. His actions that day certainly merited an honorable mention.

    joe (debac0)

  17. NK you couldn’t cut it in the academy and you still feel qualified to say that Wilson, who made it through the academy and several years on the street, isn’t qualified to be a cop because he couldn’t subdue Brown on his own? Brown was huge and Wilson is normal sized.
Like others have asked you, how would you, the academy dropout or failure, handled Brown?

    labcatcher (61737c)

  18. Heh. A man should know his limitations. Hoagie and Steve were in the military. They know how a reconnaissance would “handle” a company of the enemy they came across. They also know what kind of troops would be on a recon squad.

    nk (dbc370)

  19. reconnaissance *squad*

  20. He could have used harpoons.

Could have used a bear trap.

Could have used trank darts from a helicopter.

Could have dazzeled him with “yer momma” jokes.

Could have dug a pit and lured the fat boy over.

    papertiger (c2d6da)

  21. Could have shot out his kneecaps, like the terminator in non lethal mode.

    papertiger (c2d6da)

  22. Could have donned the dept. iron man suit, they keep in storage for special occasion.

Oh wait. Did Tony Stark invent that yet?

    papertiger (c2d6da)

  23. Like the crocodile hunter, he could have used one of those rope sticks.

    papertiger (c2d6da)

  24. Could have sent for the Charles Atlas bodybuilding course? (Remember the comic book ad with the skinny guy getting sand kicked in his face on the beach?)

    nk (dbc370)

  25. About “black twitter” you think they’d let Eminem post there? You know, to keep up appearances?

    papertiger (c2d6da)

  26. 18. Heh. A man should know his limitations. Hoagie and Steve were in the military. They know how a reconnaissance would “handle” a company of the enemy they came across. They also know what kind of troops would be on a recon squad.

Yeah. And when SEALs do SR the last thing they’re going to do is to expose themselves and get into a fight.

    Steve57 (813c29)

  27. But then the SEALs aren’t they’re to police the bad guys.

    Steve57 (813c29)

  28. * they’re = there

    Steve57 (813c29)

  29. Patterico, you don’t work with the CA State prosecutors do you? or the AG?
