Happy Texas Independence Day!

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 10:06 pm

IJReview celebrated with an inside look at Ted Cruz’s Senate office, and all its Texas-themed decorations. My personal favorite was the last letter from the Alamo:

  2. Wait, are those flags and that letter the real deal, i.e. the original document? Wouldn’t those be pretty expensive items that ought to be somewhere more accessible than a Senate office? Please tell me they are reproductions.

  3. I assume it’s a reproduction, but who knows? It would be cool if it were the real deal.

  6. I’m a bit puzzled by the Taylor Swift wall calendar.

  8. From Beldar’s link:

The original “Victory or Death” letter written by William Barrett Travis on February 24, 1836 is located in the Texas State Library and Archives in Austin, Texas.

    Makes sense.

I still think the copy is snazzy.

  9. What I love about Texas is how they pronounce “San Jacinto” as san juhsinna.

    Feliz Dia de Independencia, Tejas.
