White House Professionals Hard at Work
[Guest post by DRJ]
The President calls in experts so he knows “whose ass to kick,” while his staff plays shirtless beer-pong.
As a famous blogger says, the country is in the very best of hands.

If you’re “in charge” and don’t know whose ass to kick, you should probably begin with your own.
Kelly T. (e94c3b) — 6/7/2010 @ 7:12 pmPropeller Head wants to talk to experts in order to kick some arse?
Great imagery, ROTFLMAO!
Propeller Head with some Propeller Head frems talking about the concept of mannnnnnning up. Too much.
HeavenSent (a9126d) — 6/7/2010 @ 7:14 pmWell said, Kelly.
SPQR (26be8b) — 6/7/2010 @ 7:14 pmClassless, with no sense of dignitas of the office.
A one-term president that the nation is already tired of.
SPQR (26be8b) — 6/7/2010 @ 7:30 pmBig Zero talks tough
ColonelHaiku (749d6d) — 6/7/2010 @ 7:35 pmAhmadinejad laughs lots
mullahs pray in June
One aspect of this that is little mentioned is the fact that BP is the largest British company and its stock is a large part of many British pension plans. The attacks on it, although mostly empty BS, worry British pensioners and further estranges the common folk from the US. Cheap political posturing is not totally harmless.
Mike K (82f374) — 6/7/2010 @ 7:38 pmSo a degree from Columbia and a law degree from Harvard doesn’t seem to take the “hood” out of the man. If this is what a education at a tony university buys, send your kids to a state university; it’s a hellofa lot cheaper.
Add this to dumb statement of the day:
When asked by a reporter what BP could be doing better, Adm. Thad Allen responded “Pay the claims faster.”
This whole damn administration is litigation minded. Never mind that the Louisiana marsh lands are being destroyed forever. Allen thinks paying claims faster will do the trick.
Now we learn that The Won had NEVER even had a conversation with the head of BP. Carville is right, this oil spill, while it destroys our Gulf coast, is just an inconvenience to the Boy King.
retire05 (5a6bc4) — 6/7/2010 @ 7:44 pmGood point, Mike K. Plus, the more the Obama people talk tough about the oil spill, the more they will be pressured to pursue criminal charges against BP’s management. Just because liberals talked freely about criminal trials for Bush and his staff does not mean that our British allies will put up with criminal charges against BP’s management.
DRJ (d43dcd) — 6/7/2010 @ 7:44 pmMaybe James cameron can play shirtless beer-pong, while the real experts are being consulted.
Icy Texan (6c54f2) — 6/7/2010 @ 7:58 pmIs that urban for “Mission Accomplished?”
Ed from SFV (f0e1cb) — 6/7/2010 @ 8:06 pmThe country’s in the very best of hands
Some chump (967a70) — 6/7/2010 @ 8:18 pmIf one is an investor in the UK with BP in your portfolio, you have to hope that BP has a mighty firewall between their US and World-wide operations; it will make it easier when they have to file for BK due to the litigation costs from the disaster in the Gulf.
AD - RtR/OS! (f11dd4) — 6/7/2010 @ 8:21 pm(no comment preview)
I’m having the same problem with comments not being previewed. At least they’re showing up, though!
Icy Texan (6c54f2) — 6/7/2010 @ 8:27 pmSpike Lee told Obama last week to “go off.” And this is what we got? What a let-down.
It still looked like he was reading from a teleprompter. Not that it matters. Did they run this line by a mock jury before they went with it? Looks like it to me.
He is still unconvincing to me. Not that I need some emotion on the oil issue. It is just that everything is so calculated for manipulation. Handing out white coats to doctors is the ultimate.
Arizona Bob (e8af2b) — 6/7/2010 @ 9:08 pmAre we learning anything about placing lawyers into positions of power yet?
TC (907af7) — 6/7/2010 @ 10:58 pmEar Leader is still searching for someone’s ass he CAN kick….. so far the list is rather limited, with the numbers running from zero downward.
he did try to pin down his shadow earlier today with a flashlight, but there was apparent difficulty in deciding just when to try and activate the switch, plus the switch itself was rather firm, and he was concerned with offending it if he was too forceful in the application of unilateral pressure.
the session ended with a general apology to all “Shadow-Americans”.
redc1c4 (fb8750) — 6/7/2010 @ 11:35 pmArizona, Obama really is the direct opposite to Bush in that regard. Most folks probably get that his concern here is to minimize personal damage or maximize political benefits.
Bush would spend every dime of political capital and accept any measure of personal damage to just deal with a major problem.
Obama is still pulling PR for Obama. Some real leadership would have made a major difference in the lives of millions of people and the long term destruction of marshes and other ecosystems.
Dustin (b54cdc) — 6/7/2010 @ 11:41 pmI wonder how many Libertarian Obama-haters there are among the commenters. I guess your need to criticize Obama is greater than your fear of the federal government.
mikeb302000 (6127bb) — 6/8/2010 @ 4:02 amThis nation will need a very long, scalding shower to get the Obama off, once he is returned to the sewer from which he emerged.
Matador (ac73ca) — 6/8/2010 @ 6:11 amBeing from Chicago, how soon before we hear “Sleep with the fishes”?
Dencouch (935f74) — 6/8/2010 @ 6:13 amof course in 1998, “White House Hard at Work” had a wholly different meaning.
Aaron Worthing (e7d72e) — 6/8/2010 @ 6:17 amIt’s tantrum governance. He’s out there looking for a punching bag.
The man seems to be in a perpetual state of rage. This may be designed to communicate empathy and engagement, but it also makes him seem petulant and a little out of control.
I think they are more interested in breaking the professor persona than in providing us with calm and competent leadership.
Amphipolis (b120ce) — 6/8/2010 @ 6:41 ammike
fixing a natural disaster on a shared coastline seems like exactly the kind of thing the federal government should do, even to a fairly libertarian guy like me.
Even libertarians believe in some government. duh.
Aaron Worthing (e7d72e) — 6/8/2010 @ 6:47 amMikey is nothing but a self – reflexive, expectorating Trollbot. One look at his moniker and that’s all you really need to know.
Dmac (3d61d9) — 6/8/2010 @ 7:10 ammikey90210’s string of consecutive idiotic comments continues. That streak is likely to remain unbroken.
That whole so I know whose ass to kick might be one of the most ridiculous statements this clown has uttered. No small feat.
JD (b537f4) — 6/8/2010 @ 7:16 amTickle parties are more fun with thier shirts off. Are condoms and vasiline door prizes?
clyde (3ef93a) — 6/8/2010 @ 8:33 amThis really does not bother me, they are causing less harm by playing beer pong than they are causing when doing their jobs. It does highlight the abject hypocrisy of the MFM.
JD (b537f4) — 6/8/2010 @ 8:37 amIf it were me, I would be talking with experts so I could find out what I and the government could do to help. But I guess watching things get worse while trying to figure out who to blame is more important than helping.
Far from being Superman, it appears our President is the Punisher.
Christian (f10530) — 6/8/2010 @ 11:42 amThat was written in language I believe Gibbs, who was reading his Marvel Encyclopedia, should understand.
I do apologize for mixing universes, but Superman is cooler than Hyperion.
Christian (f10530) — 6/8/2010 @ 11:43 amAt what point does misfeasance, malfeasance, ignorance, arrogance, obfuscation, distortion, threats, buffoonery, conduct in office that diminishes the authority and dignity of the office, slanderous statements, associating with known terrorists, bribery, barratry and other assorted known and unknown misdemeanors, qualify this A$$clown for an impeachment?
jakee308 (ace517) — 6/8/2010 @ 11:45 amYou’re in a coma. This isn’t really happening. Barack Obama is your Coma Stimulation Therapist and you’re slipping further into this ridiculous version of America.
