CNN Analyst Mourns Hezbollah Spiritual Leader
Octavia Nasr declares on Twitter:

Daniel Halper explains that Fadlallah was a Holocaust denier who has justified suicide bombings and who “is believed to be responsible for the killing of 241 U.S. Marines during the 1983 Beirut barracks bombings,” according to the New York Times.
Meanwhile, I have asked Nasr on Twitter which other of Hezbollah’s giants she respects.

The ones who beat her regularly.

Hmm…
I wonder if Fadlallah (which reminds of Bob Loblaw from “Arrested Development”) approved of her flaunting herself? I mean, since she respected him so much.
Or maybe he was a “modern Muslim”?
At first I thought, sure:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fadlallah#Women
Then I read more closely:
Actually, he was modern, according to the article. That’s the odd part. And Ms. Nasr respects him….even though she is not wearing hijab, is not wearing modest clothing, and appears to be wearing makeup.

I emailed CNN earlier today regarding this. If anyone would like to, here is their link.

CNN hates Israel.
CNN hates America.
A modest proposal: When you have a couple minutes to spare, call the CEO’s office at one of CNN’s advertisers–any will do–and tell ‘em how you feel about this network that hates Israel and America.

Thanks for the link, Dana. I emailed and told them they can and must do better.

With the departure of Christiane Amanpour, CNN needs another whorespondent actively on the other side.

The Lebanese government declared Tuesday a national day of mourning over the death of Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah.
A government statement also announced a one-day countrywide shutdown on Tuesday.
Fadlallah, former spiritual mentor of Hizbullah and branded a “terrorist” by Washington, died in hospital on Sunday. He was 75.

Is Octavia Nasr one of those so-called useful idiots, easily manipulated by people and groups affiliated with both the ultra-left and — most ironically enough — ultra-right (eg, Islamofascists)?
If so, the thing that really irks me about “useful idiots,” are the ones in particular who have the ability — ie, money and inside connections — to, when the going gets really tough, pack up and move to some safe, tranquil, luxurious location, far, far away from the debacle they helped come into being.

It all started with Peter Arnett, and just went downhill from there.

Wow. An accomplished and educated woman who has left the middle east, and lives in Georgia…with two daughters.
Does she REALLY respect Fadlallah? Would she apply his beliefs in her life? Obviously not.
Related, but OT…how does she feel about the mother of two in Iran who will be stoned to death for adultery? Isn’t there an Iran-Hezbollah connection? Certainly fellow-travelers.
Comment by Virtual Insanity (d93c26) — 7/5/2010 @ 9:18 pm
This is certainly shocking. I will send a strongly worded letter to CNN posthaste.
Or, I can join the 233+ million Americans who don’t watch CNN, except that happened about 14 years ago.

What an idiot. Sent an email.
Now I’m going to start complaining to every airport I’ve flown into in the past 5 years. I will also be getting my military friends to pitch a fit. ESPECIALLY the Marines.
Comment by Vivian Louise (643333) — 7/6/2010 @ 4:11 am
Vivian is right on the money. The only time I EVER watch CNN is when I’m waiting for a flight. And CNN knows it too — notice how many travel commercials they run during their breaks?
Comment by Sean P (6f6c60) — 7/6/2010 @ 4:58 am
Its a network clearly concerned about winning popularity around the world, rather than the crappy backwater it happened to be founded in.
(and yes, my calling America, or specifically Atlanta, the “crappy backwater” is meant to mock their attitudes, not to reflect my own attitude about Altanta/America.)

We saw his bakc during the Lebanese war, when they accepted Hezbollah’s obligatory tour of civilian
areas leaving out the context, or how they cried over the death of Sheik Yassin, of heartbreak but
mostly my missile strike in 2004

man, if only we had twitter back when chairman mao passed. It would be quite illuminating.
I wonder if she would be equally sad if we shot Osama bin Laden into the sun?

Shooting O.B.L. into the sun? Sounds like a priority for Obama’s NASA!

People like Nasr ought to be kicked out of the United States.
It’s idiotic to let people who love terrorist organizations come to the USA.
Just deport her.
And,investigate CNN.
