Patterico (115b1f) — 2/12/2019 @ 8:04 amAcrostic is a poem form
Containing a device
Rhyming’s not essential, no it
Only makes it nice
Sometimes it is difficult
To write acrostic muse
It took a lot of patience
Composing this for youse

You really should get into The Mason Williams Reading Matter. He used to write for the Smother’s Brothers, you know.
Gawain's Ghost (b25cd1) — 2/12/2019 @ 8:34 amI just made one, with pen and paper, but I can’t get it to format here. Anyway, it was a fun way to pass the time. I doubt that I will ever do it again.
nk (dbc370) — 2/12/2019 @ 12:50 pmHere’s the one I made. The comment form won’t let me put the numbers under the lines, so I put them inside the lines. The slashes / are spaces between words. I saw how you all struggled with Patterico’s, so I thought I’d make the clues extra easy, but then decided not to.

I don’t guarantee that there are no typos, but don’t assume there are. I did my best to avoid them
nk (dbc370) — 2/12/2019 @ 5:17 pmSo nobody wants to give it a try? And I spent almost my whole week’s allowance of executive time on it. What if I gave you a really big hint? The acrostic, i.e. the word formed by the first letters of the six clues below the quote and to whom the quote is attributed, is CUSTER.
Oh, what the heck, have one more hint: If you solve it, remember the moderation filter when you post the quote.
