Will Pelosi investigate him?

  1. Well maybe his opposition is “ginned up.” I mean i have a hard time believing a sober man would say half the crap he says.

  2. Howard Dean is going to run for President in 2012.

OK, he won’t, but he’s the kook Obama is + some actual executive capability. He’s a complete nutcase, I know, but he ran Vermont in the black and he ran his party into solid majorities with some insightful and bold leadership.

I wish the democrats had the sense to elect people based on their skill level. Dean would have been a better leader. It’s the difference between someone I dislike and someone I can’t respect.

I’m pretty conservative, and I would be cursing Dean’s name if he were president today, but one of the biggest problems facing our country is that Obama just doesn’t know what the hell he’s doing.

Every now and then you hear someone hope Hillary would run in 2012, but I think that old clown Dean should run.

  3. I’ll disagree with you, Dustin. An unpleasant megalomaniac like Dean can get thing done in a very small state like Vermont, but put him in a position where he would have to deal with 535 fellow preening popinjays and he would have no chance of putting together a ruling coalition. Obama, for all his shortcomings, seems to me to be personally quite likable yet even he can’t herd his huge Congressional majority. I don’t see any chance that a serious a**hole Dean could be effective in that role.

  4. Sometimes, you have to be a serious asshole to herd cats like the House or the Senate.

Dean’s leadership in Vermont was very impressive. True, that’s a much smaller state than the entire nation, but he did as good a job as any leftist I’m aware of (I suppose that’s not saying much). Much more impressive to me is how he turned his party around. Running a political party is not easy.

Dean’s got leadership chops that Obama couldn’t dream of having.

On the other hand, JVW’s right that Obama is far more likable. I don’t hate Obama so much as I don’t respect him. Dean, on the other hand, I deeply dislike.

Is Pelosi likable? Reid? When I think of the best GOP congressional leaders, I think of people who are far less likable, and the worst were more bla.

My real point is that the democrats made a serious mistake with Obama. Other than pride, it’s in their long term best interest to drop Obama and pick a serious leader who wants to get America on her feet. But pride is powerful.

  5. I’m sure she’ll discover that Breitbart told Dean what to think.

  6. Is there any land closer to ground zero? I do not understand how moving the mosque closer to ground zero is helpful but I am sure the highly qualified Dean knows what is best.

  7. Gee, Justin, he quit his church over a dispute with
a bikepath, yes he was a good liar in camouflaging
how the netroots infiltrated the party, dabbled with 9/11 skeptics and then people want to complain about Sarah’s judgement or experience, honestly

  8. Yeah, he’s not winning man of the year from me, ian. He is a good liar. In fact, he’s an extremely effective ‘bad guy’. His DNC brilliance was based on cynical moves, such as using Sec State offices to sway election outcomes.

My point is simple, though. Obama is also pretty manipulative, but he’s also just in over his head. He can barely speak for himself. Is our country better off with a smart leader with no conscience, or a dumb neophyte with no conscience? These days, I honestly would prefer an actual executive. And either way, the Democrats should cut their losses in 2012.

  9. Yes, he looks better in relation to Obama, still crazy after all these years, he still misses ?? that this group around the Mosque is so radical

    ian cormac (8e4d9a)

  10. Well, i won’t get too deep into Dustin’s comments about Dean’s abilities as a president.

But saying he would do better than Obama has been isn’t exactly setting a higher bar, ya know?

  11. Okay new crazy post for the day at my blog. the title:

“Islamic Research Academy: There Should not be a Mosque at Ground Zero… and, um, the Decision to Create One is a Zionist Conspiracy?”

    Yes, really: http://allergic2bull.blogspot.com/2010/08/islamic-research-academy-there-should.html

And you know just yesterday i thought no one could out-crazy Pelosi. i really should have known better.

  12. All I can say to Dustin’s post is “YEAAAAARRRRRGGGHHHH!” Still the funniest vid ever of Dean’s nutbag crazy moments while on the campaign trail. But seriously, it is that hard to “sway” your own party when the state they control is often called the “United Peoples Republic of Vermont?” I mean, come on – Bernie Sanders, anyone?
