How I Spent My Summer Vacation, Part 1

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 6:02 am

I thought I would post a few photos from my recent vacation over the next couple of weeks. I’ll do only one photo per day, so that we don’t have photo overload — not to mention slow loading time. We’ll start with a photo from early in our vacation, taken from the terrace in our apartment in Vernazza, Italy:

  2. I always thought it was bella, but I agree with the sentiment.

Where is Vernazza? My maps don’t show it.

It’s known as the poor man’s Riviera. It’s on the west coast, north of Pisa and consists of five small towns linked by a small gauge rail.

  4. This is how I do it:

    He’s a bimbo.
    She’s a bimba.
    The guys are bimbi.
    The gals are bimbe.

  5. Wow, what a great place. That region was high on our list when we were living in Switzerland, but we never managed the visit. I recall you were thinking of a European trip last year; it’s good to see that you went ahead and did it.

Hope you provide many details in subsequent posts.

  7. We stayed in Manarola for a few days last spring. If telecommuting ever becomes an option…. oh boy.

  8. What kind of boats are those? Are they for tourists or do they belong to the people who live there?

It looks great and hopefully the weather, locale, people and food were great, too.

  9. That’s spectacular, but did ya go fishin’?

I got to vacation in Colorado recently. It was great, but I learned that I like the ocean better than the mountains. ‘Looks like you got both here.
