Bill Ayers: Breitbart Was a Leading “Bombthrower” of the Radical Right

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 9:38 pm

It sounds like a joke until you see it. Yes, a co-founder of a group that conducted numerous bombings calls Breitbart a “bombthrower” — without irony:

As bizarre as it seems, this is what the left does nowadays. They put on a Serious Face and then they accuse you of being everything that they are now, always have been, and evermore shall be.

And as you sputter in disbelief, they repeat the accusation. Again and again and again.

To the point where an actual convicted domestic terrorist will actually describe a 43-year-old family man and conservative blogger as the real terrorist. [UPDATE: And so will an admitted but non-convicted terrorist like Ayers.]

You’ll hear plenty more about this tactic as the election approaches.

  1. What is even more disgusting is the fact that he broke bread with AB. He is shameless.

  2. I loved the story about how Andrew told him his food was “the bomb.”

    Patterico (feda6b)

  3. I also love Ayers’s recitation of Andrew’s “record.”

Coming from a guy with an actual record.

He had to have phrased it that way for a reason. He’s evil but not stupid. He was trying to get attention.

  4. I could get on the FBI’s Holder’s terrorist list. I spend cash, not use my credit card, at the 7-11.

  7. To the point where an actual convicted domestic terrorist will actually describe a 43-year-old family man and conservative blogger as the real terrorist.

Are you sure about that? This Washington Post piece says he was never convicted of any crime.

Conservapedia says “Bill Ayers, his wife Bernardine Dohrn and other WUO figures were not prosecuted because of alleged FBI misconduct while investigating the foreign influence in domestic terrorism”.

Obviously, he doesn’t claim to be innocent. He’s described himself as “guilty as hell”. It doesn’t look like he was convicted, though, unless I’ve missed something.

Not me. You turned off the “you said that before” function. And my brother turned off the touch/click option.

    nk (dec503)

  9. Yup, he said “guilty as hell” and “free as a bird” if I recall correctly. Worthless slime…

    Gazzer (c1b2fb)

  10. Pathetic. And yet, ironically Ayers himself keeps Breitbart’s name alive. (I knew we on the right, would; but I didn’t figure the left would too. Apparently he is still a threat to them. Why else the need to bring it up and smear him, let alone have a silly website like Hating Breitbart?)

    Dana (4eca6e)

  11. You can thank Mark Felt’s ‘black bag’ jobs when he was with the Bureau’s CounterIntelligence section, for that circumstances, that and the whiny US Atty
    Ibischoff, who didn’t even try,

    narciso (87e966)

  12. Breitbart complemented him as a cook. I’m going to boycott, I will never accept another invitation to a Bill Ayers dinner party. so there!!!

Just when you think their deceitful and disgusting ways have reached new lows, they astound us yet again.

How many people did he say would need to die in the revolution, 25 million? And he calls AB the bombthrower???

  14. And as you sputter in disbelief, they repeat the accusation. Again and again and again.

Yeah, I know. I’ve come across this lots. By leftists and by women, but I repeat myself.

  15. Foo Bar,

Yeah, but how do you know I was talking about Ayers when I wrote that?

I’m not being cute when I say that. Some here understand.

But of course I wasn’t being very clear. Sort of on purpose, but that’s unfair to the general reader. So I have added:

[UPDATE: And so will an admitted but non-convicted terrorist like Ayers.]

    Patterico (feda6b)

  16. You should correct the convicted part.

I’m 43. Read this blog much?

    That’s all I’ll say.

  17. Pat, I see what you did there.

  18. Not so much BA but rather BK.

  23. Why do many of the nastiest, most selfish. most sociopathic people I’ve crossed paths with REALLY hate the late Mr Breitbart? Why do some of the nicer people I’ve ever come across respect him?

One of my favorite obits for Andrew said: flashlight dies, cockroaches rejoice.

    Dustin (401f3a)

  24. Wonderful comments at Hating Breitbart. When you measure him and his life’s work against that of Ayers or BK, or any of the hard left, it’s easy to understand the cold hate toward him. Exposing darkness to light and all that…

    Dana (4eca6e)

  25. Heh, Dustin, same wavelength.

    Dana (4eca6e)

  26. A number of us have been referring to the Democrats as the Projective Party since last millennium … (albeit not on blogs for *quite* that long) …

  27. Why do many of the nastiest, most selfish. most sociopathic people I’ve crossed paths with REALLY hate the late Mr Breitbart? Why do some of the nicer people I’ve ever come across respect him

    I doubt it’s a coincidence.

  28. GMTA, Dana.

Andrew Breitbart would be proud to know he continues to upset the right people.

    Dustin (401f3a)

  29. I don’t think Ayers and friends will be able to stop talking about Breitbart – he’s exposed their agenda. It’ll be damage control for a long, long time. They’ll hate him and hurl abuses and lie – even with him gone – to try to undue what he has successfully done. Unfortunately for them, it will be a wasted effort. We all know better.

    Dana (4eca6e)

  30. The funny thing is silly little Soledad, and her ilk, think that by their aupposed debunking of CRA, for example, that they have thwarted AB. This is merely his opening gambit. Leak a little, get their response and then leak some more. Give them a little rope…

    Gazzer (c1b2fb)

  31. D’oh-“supposed.”

    Gazzer (c1b2fb)

  32. Speaking of Soledad……Now, hours after her second great on-air CRT embarrassment (including the subsequent public vetting of the writings of her guest Dorothy and the tweet armada) does anyone know if the lovely and talented Ms. O’Brien has bought a clue yet?

    elissa (f22181)

  33. Is it even worth a reality check here?

Ayers isn’t remotely part of the mainstream left. And is clearly speaking metaphorically when saying “bomb thrower.”

Andrew enjoyed his hospitality and then ripped him a new one at CPAC. If we ever heard anything publicly from Andrew about friends he had on the left, I missed it, even though there were obviously plenty (as opposed to a Michael Medved, who often speaks of friends on the left as not being bad people). Yeah, he said Ayers was a great cook, then proceeded to cite conspiracy theories about how he planned to install Obama in the white house decades later.

But hey, feel free to wrongheadedly group everyone in together, even as total scrupulous fairness is demanded from our side.

    LYT (191703)

  34. You got the troll graveyard shift duty again, huh, LYT? Bummer. Or does your old dog have to go outside in the middle of the night, too, and you just happened to click onto the Patterico blog site?

    elissa (f22181)

  35. Little Yellow Tennis-balls served this into the net:

Is it even worth a reality check here?
    — Not really, since reality is what was presented here.

Ayers isn’t remotely part of the mainstream left.
    — “He’s not one of us;” is that it? So, are you saying that you disagree with what he said?

And is clearly speaking metaphorically when saying “bomb thrower.”
    — Who said that he was speaking literally? Clue alert: Ayers’ choice of metaphor is the problem here.

Andrew enjoyed his hospitality and then ripped him a new one at CPAC.
    — So . . . AB was both a “bomb-thrower” AND a bad dinner-guest? That’s IT!!! Somebody call TIME and demand they remove his name from the Person Of The Year short-list!

If we ever heard anything publicly from Andrew about friends he had on the left, I missed it,
    — Perhaps, like the rest of us, he was unsure of the reporting requirements for associating with the other side of the aisle.

Yeah, he said Ayers was a great cook, then proceeded to cite conspiracy theories about how he planned to install Obama in the white house decades later.
    — How gauche! No soup for you!!!

But hey, feel free to wrongheadedly group everyone in together
    — If Ayers isn’t a member of the “mainstream left,” then what does that make the guy that wrote an introduction for one of Ayers’ books and launched his campaign in Ayers’ living room?

even as total scrupulous fairness is demanded from our side.
    — Do you not demand it of yourself? Or, for those of you on the left, does the end always justify the means?

  37. I didn’t cotton to any of the crazy theories, after Andrew’s death, but Ayers is a Cuban DGI trained
    terrorist, so I don’t put anything past them;

    narciso (87e966)

  38. Not to worry. Besmirching AB’s reputation, postmortem, is all Ayers has the guts to try, these days.

    Icy (306668)

  39. Ayers isn’t remotely part of the mainstream left.

Indeed. It’s not like the president of the United States launched his political career from Ayers’s living room or anything.

Oh wait — yes it is.

    Patterico (78db5f)

  40. Always remember that Obama chose his friends carefully. The media never remembers this fact for some reason.

  41. Jesus, can anyone on the left manage to give a statement without reading it off a script?

    AMartel (88c646)

  42. Andrew […] ripped him a new one at CPAC.

    GOOD

He belongs in a cage. But instead he’s been permitted to corrupt education for sheer politics.

    Dustin (401f3a)

  43. Billy Boom boom Ayers should be asked how DIANA OUGHTON died. And who trained her. And what her purpose was? And did he get to identify her remains? Or did he leave his BLOWED UP GIRLFRIEND and RUN.

    Gus (36e9a7)

  44. Gus–I have often wondered how the remaining members of the Oughton family, (formerly of Dwight, IL) must feel each time the arrogant and un-repentant Bill Ayers appears on camera or makes a speech or stomps on an American flag. At least each day of her life his current wife, terrorist Bernardine Dohrn knows, and has to live with the fact that she was not his first choice. And I hope that little complication bothers both her and Bill–a lot.
