It was amusing to watch him try to get the yahoos to explain their signs. And bonus homophobia from the Left!
Comment by Eric Blair — 9/20/2010 @ 7:05 pm
THOSE VIDEOS ARE EDITED BEYOND RECOGNITION AND IT WAS BREITRACIST THAT WAS SCREAMING HOMOPHOBIC SLURS AT THE PEACEFUL PEOPLE EXERCISING THEIR 1ST AMENDMENT RIGHTS WHILE THE FASCISTS WERE IN ROUSING UP THE TEABAGGERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Comment by JD — 9/20/2010 @ 7:16 pm
Just priceless! The stammering and the stuttering and the furtive glances to one side then the other in the vain hope that someone with a clue will jump in and save them. Instead we get the collective cringe and retreat as if someone had cut the cheese. AB, you are a star.
Comment by Gazzer — 9/20/2010 @ 7:16 pm
I like the “protestors” at the beginning who are mumbling and looking at the guy with the bullhorn because they don’t even know the words to the chant!
“Why am I here?”
Comment by Patricia — 9/20/2010 @ 7:18 pm
Why couldn’t it be Breitbart running for Senator in Delaware????
Comment by MD in Philly — 9/20/2010 @ 7:27 pm
Geez, what a bunch of weenies. And this is who controls our country? Yikes.
Comment by Dana — 9/20/2010 @ 7:28 pm
JD. Two words: frog march.
Comment by Eric Blair — 9/20/2010 @ 7:34 pm
Notice that most of the signs are in the same hand writing?
Comment by EPWJ — 9/20/2010 @ 7:40 pm
Staggering how bullies, and evil, flee when confronted.
Comment by Ed from SFV — 9/20/2010 @ 7:41 pm
Eric B
Exactly what does frog march mean? Do you have anything to substantiate your claim? Please extend us the meaning of your remark?
Comment by EPWJ — 9/20/2010 @ 7:42 pm
Eric B
Sorry please explain to us what you meant by Frog MArch?
Comment by EPWJ — 9/20/2010 @ 7:45 pm
JD, that Pavlovian response was for you.
Comment by Eric Blair — 9/20/2010 @ 7:46 pm
Leave it to ejpwljpeg to demonstrate once again his incredible non – responsiveness to the obvious. OTOH, perhaps he really is that clueless.
Comment by Dmac — 9/20/2010 @ 7:55 pm
If I’m willing to commit to a position, hold up a sign and protest, I’m going to take every opportunity to have a soapbox to explain precisely why and what I am protesting. So to the guy who responded when asked the question, “I won’t fall into that trap”, I call bullshit. It was a beautiful opportunity to make his case known, to articulate his protest and objection to what was going on, to out Breitbart and/or Beck and have it on record, and to bring others on board for his cause. That is the essence of protest.
What authentic protester doesn’t want it to count for something?
These people are an embarrassment and really shamed the woman at the end of the video who was honest and direct and could express a purpose to her protest – even if I disagree with her. She should choose her company more carefully. She deserves better.
Comment by Dana — 9/20/2010 @ 7:55 pm
Sorry please explain to us what you meant by Frog MArch?
Do you know the meaning of the word “wager?” Do you understand what the prior terms and conditions of a wager you made with JD encompassed? And why haven’t you paid off yet, welcher?
Comment by Dmac — 9/20/2010 @ 7:57 pm
Senor Blair – I know. I am still waiting for the Breitbart indictment and frog march.
Comment by JD — 9/20/2010 @ 7:57 pm
Eric
Really now? Sure it was, please extend to us the inherent wisdom of your remark, since we all know where you were directing it – I can see by your non-reply that is an answer enough for everone.
Comment by EPWJ — 9/20/2010 @ 7:57 pm
Apparently EPWJ is the only person that does not get that joke. SHOCKA.
Comment by JD — 9/20/2010 @ 8:00 pm
Presented by Organizing For Obama and Sponsored by the Democratic Party according to Gateway Pundit. You know, just another grass roots left wing protest.
Comment by daleyrocks — 9/20/2010 @ 8:01 pm
JD
Asshattery again? JD – what did the federal judge say during the sentencing of ABB’s employee?
There were serious crimes committed? That were not being prosecuted? What did the Judge say about NATIONAL SECURITY?
Comment by EPWJ — 9/20/2010 @ 8:03 pm
No asshattery, EPWJ. A statement of fact. You are the only damn one that did not get his joke. Objectively.
Take your meds.
Comment by JD — 9/20/2010 @ 8:06 pm
What “serious” crime was committed? People stood in a waiting room in a utility suit posing as phone technicians? National security? Surely they are wasting away in GITMO for their crimes against humanity. Surely Breitbart will be indicted any moment now. Surely you are bugf@cknutz. Surely you do not obsess over Breitbart.
Comment by JD — 9/20/2010 @ 8:08 pm
I thought it was pretty funny though, guys.I also thought that would happen EPWJ, you were too easy there. Best to change the subject.
Comment by Eric Blair — 9/20/2010 @ 8:10 pm
This video is masterful. And troubling in so many ways.
But the saddest part, as far as I was concerned, is that one of the first protesters Breitbart engaged, (the short guy in the red scarf who later said he was Eugene Winkler) was ultimately identified as the retired senior paster of the Chicago Temple. The Chicago Temple is the landmark high rise United Methodist Church in the heart of the loop. It is considered the first, or premier Methodist church in the city.
Gene Winkler, who considers himself an activist is also apparently an ACLU board member. At the end he does remove his scarf and somewhat sheepishly apologize to Breitbart that some of the anti-hate rowdies hatefully called him a homo. The busloads of clueless ACLU and OFA members is one thing. But what was Winkler doing there in the first place? One can’t even begin to imagine what on earth he thought he was protesting. A rally inside the Sears Center on a Saturday night is not exactly the Pettus Bridge. I hope Winkler and church hierarchy have seen this video and understand how really bad they look.
Some of our most important institutions have been corrupted.
Comment by elissa — 9/20/2010 @ 8:10 pm
Me too. I wish I had just one tenth of the guts of Andrew Breitbart. Awesome.
Comment by mbabbitt — 9/20/2010 @ 8:13 pm
Sorry, I was caught once again trying to be serious. While I was in the process of typing my comment I did not realize that utter chaos was breaking out among the inmates and reptile lovers. Mea culpa. Carry on!
Comment by elissa — 9/20/2010 @ 8:18 pm
Elissa, Breitbart is Da Man. I used to think he was too truculent. I’m wrong.
Comment by Eric Blair — 9/20/2010 @ 8:21 pm
elissa – We would be well served to follow your example.
Comment by JD — 9/20/2010 @ 8:21 pm
elissa – Is Obama’s former hatey church, TUMC, affiliated with Winkler’s?
Comment by daleyrocks — 9/20/2010 @ 8:29 pm
daleyrocks – I am surprised Rev Hatey was not there screaming about teh ghey and the zionists.
Comment by JD — 9/20/2010 @ 8:37 pm
And why on earth did Winkler feel compelled to apologize for such a jerk? So weak.
I’m not frog marching anywhere and you can’t make me! (I had to look it up because like EPWJ, I drew a blank, but I don’t really care. There’s a limited amount of gray matter to expend, and there are way too many important things to seriously focus on. No piling on unless it’s piling on a dumb protester!)
Comment by Dana — 9/20/2010 @ 8:40 pm
Daley–No way no how. The Methodist Chicago Temple is as mainline a protestant church as there is/was. Obama’s “church” is Trinity United Church of Christ a different denomination.
Comment by elissa — 9/20/2010 @ 8:41 pm
elissa – My mistake. I thought it was Trinity United Methodist.
Comment by daleyrocks — 9/20/2010 @ 8:46 pm
elissa – I have been to the Chapel in the Sky above the residence in the Temple and have seen the current Senior Pastor naked (I’m not telling).
Comment by daleyrocks — 9/20/2010 @ 8:51 pm
Daley, been googling, have you? LOL
Comment by elissa — 9/20/2010 @ 8:55 pm
elissa – I was just checking to see whether Phil was still Pastor there. He used to be up in this neck of the woods.
Comment by daleyrocks — 9/20/2010 @ 9:10 pm
So in response to a request from Organizing for America, only one person voluntarily showed up to protest this event and support Obama … and this was in Chicago? It sounds like all the rest were organized and bussed in, and only a few seemed to understand why they were there.
I hope that’s a preview of November.
Comment by DRJ — 9/20/2010 @ 9:15 pm
DRJ!!!
Comment by JD — 9/20/2010 @ 9:18 pm
Hey, JD. Been to some good games this year?
Comment by DRJ — 9/20/2010 @ 9:28 pm
daley– maybe you can get some “poop”, “the goods”, “the inside skinny” as they say, on ol’ Rev. Winkler from your pal Paster Phil?
and DRJ–nice to see you!
Comment by elissa — 9/20/2010 @ 9:29 pm
Yes, and some more interesting ones possible to come. Hopefully one in TX.
Comment by JD — 9/20/2010 @ 9:29 pm
Yes, DRJ…welcome back…I’d been avoiding saying that while noticing that you’ve been here and there…
PLEASE…continue to grace us with your wit and wisdom…
Comment by reff — 9/20/2010 @ 9:36 pm
I would love to win one of those contests where you get to go to a great college football game every weekend somewhere in America. That would be almost as good as winning the lottery.
Comment by DRJ — 9/20/2010 @ 9:37 pm
Why, thank you, reff. You know, of course, that one of those great games would have to include LSU!
Comment by DRJ — 9/20/2010 @ 9:37 pm
Yes, DRJ. That would be awesome. Just off the top of my head, I would go to Texas vs Oklahoma, Florida/GA, Ohio St/Michigan, USC/UCLA, Wabash/DePauw, Army/Navy, Oregon/Oregon St, and a variety of other rivalry games. That would be almost as cool as winning the lottery, except if you won the lottery, you could afford to do that, and other things. So I would take the lottery.
Comment by JD — 9/20/2010 @ 9:44 pm
Then I’d do it all through basketball season, too. Wouldn’t that be a year to remember?
Comment by DRJ — 9/20/2010 @ 9:52 pm
The hoops games I have not had the opportunity to go to are quite a bit fewer. Basketball would still skew towards rivalries, but I would just want to go to big games in venues – Syracuse, UNC, Duke, Kansas, Duke, Pauley Pavilion, Butler, IU, UK … Good Allah, there would never be enough days.
Comment by JD — 9/20/2010 @ 10:01 pm
Every time I see this guy do his stuff I admire his guts more. Pure awesomeness.
BTW, Dana Loesch caught video of Breitbart being spit on at this same event. Turds.
DRJ! Nice to see you around.
Comment by no one you know — 9/20/2010 @ 10:22 pm
NOYK, that’s outrageous.
No doubt, the administration will have nothing to say about this, even though this is Obama’s organization.
I can only imagine if Obama or some major democrat pundit were spat upon by Palin’s campaign (essentially what OFA is… a presidential campaign).
Just when you start to get sick and tired of ‘unity’, the real enemy shows up to spit on Breitbart or offer to import sex slaves or sue to keep the border deadly.
Comment by Dustin — 9/20/2010 @ 10:26 pm
Lefties waving American flags?
And, they aren’t on fire????
Kind of out of character isn’t it?
Comment by Dave Surls — 9/21/2010 @ 12:13 am
Being bussed in to carry signs made by someone else and which they can’t explain….
This is liberal America in a nutshell.
Comment by harkin — 9/21/2010 @ 6:11 am
saw that last night. classic. hey look it was edited, but still classic.
Comment by Aaron Worthing — 9/21/2010 @ 6:29 am
Unbelievable — “we’re peaceful and loving” yet their signs are laced with pejoratives.
You have to love the lack of self-awareness on the left.
