Obama’s Missouri Thuggery
Eugene Volokh has a pretty good rundown on the Obama campaign’s latest round of fascist speech-suppressing tactics.
Oh, the fun we’ll have with a deep blue Congress and an Obama-run DOJ and FCC. He promised you a “new type of politics,” didn’t he?
The thing is, it’s not really all that new.

Not to mention Obama’s heavy handed attempt to have NRA ads pulled. As well another ad connecting him to Bill Ayers. His surrogates tried to keep Stanley Kurtz from reviewing the Chicago Annenberg Challenge files. When Kurtz (and later Freddoso) went on the radio in Chicago, Obama supporters-at his direction-tried to shout them down by jamming the phone lines and email inboxes.
Obama’s first election win was accomplished by getting his opponents disqualified by challenging signatures (and one of his opponents was the incumbent.) His opponents’ divorce records have a mysterious history of being unsealed during contested elections.
Change you can believe in!

Where are Peter, Leviticus, love ’08 and harpy?
This is classic BusHitler stuff. Yet not one lib will speak out against it. It’s a sign of what to expect during an Obama presidency. Please post, supporters.
Is it okay for Obama to threaten people and sic his lawyers on everyone who has a criticism? Supposedly, Bush gets this rap from your side – but he didn’t shut down Cindy Sheehan, Michael Moore or even his Press Sect’y who wrote a tell-all. Then there’s Olbermann, Matthews, CBS, Air America. Apparently these voices would be shut down during an Obama presidency, minus one little thing. They lockstep love the guy!!!

I am saying this on every site that will let me comment. Where are the Republican campaign ads? Did the Republicans stop caring about rights and freedoms?
If we are too cowardly to defend our freedoms, we are going to lose them. Since the national Republicans won’t run ads, what 527 can we give money to run ads?
Comment by Scott (7b485d) — 9/28/2008 @ 3:55 pm
There has to be some care, Scott. The party can’t do too much in regard to the conduct with respect to a 527 without running near the danger of illegally coordinating.

Putting people in jail for criticising the President? He’ll fit right in to Democratic Party tradition.

Get ready for ZerObama’s gulags where anybody who disagrees with the Chosen One is sent to a reeducation camp.

SPQR, I think his point was that the party can and should run ads hitting the Obama campaign hard over its bully tactics. And if they don’t (or for that matter, even if they do), a 527 can. No coordination needed.

Has Naomi Wolf written about the coming Obama police state yet? He’s scary and not because he’s black, although that probably scares Naomi!

Volokh:
Sounds reasonable. There may be something here, there might be.
Good to see the right is being proactive and getting hysterical in front of the curve.

jpe, taking Volokh’s comments out of context, as you do, is not a refutation of anyone’s concern. Given that Missouri’s governor has commented condemning the threats, when you find the thugs so threatening telling us what they really meant, then link it.

The TV reporter says that the retelling of his story was twisted “out of control.”

There might be someting going on. Yeah right. I saw the news report from Missouri and heard these brownshirt prosecutors say they are going after anyone who says something about Obama which isn’t true.

There is more to this censorship than just Obama’s goons. The Green Bay Press Gazette is also shutting down commenters who post URLs to any story that makes Obama look bad.
I can see my posts there when I sign in, but if I go in anonymously, I don’t see my posts, and neither do anyone else.

What’s really stunning is how the law enforcement and AG didn’t not bat an eyelash!

18, Patricia, Look at the registration of the Law Enforcement and AG. They are all Democrats!

The Missouri “truth squad” is innocuous compared to that .
Comment by Michael Ejercito (a757fd) — 9/29/2008 @ 12:26 pm
Seriously. Where were these ‘truth squads’ during the initial reign of Obama’s fantasy campaign? Or does he like when the media lies for him? What if they exercise their right to disagree??
What if lovey disagrees with something Mr. Obama does or says. To her credit, she thought the podium was a lame idea. Would Barry send a truth squad to her house if she and her friends tried to petition his misuse of the presidential seal? These are things I need to know before I…
