Texas Grand Jury Issues 7 FLDS Indictments; More Expected
[Guest post by DRJ]
It wouldn’t be my first day back without some Texas news.
Last Tuesday a Schleicher County (Eldorado, Texas) grand jury issued 7 indictments alleging 9 counts of sexual assault, bigamy and failure to report child abuse in connection with the FLDS matter. The only named suspect was Warren Jeffs who was indicted for sexual assault of a child. The remaining indictments remain sealed until the suspects are located and arrested. News reports suggest it may be difficult to locate the suspects if they have gone into hiding but a Texas official stated they will do what is needed to bring the suspects in.
More indictments are expected.

Well, it looks like some actual criminality showed up, at least in the eyes of the grand jury.

Now let’s see how skeptical the arraigning judge(s) will be when deciding bail. Will they weigh the prior shenanigans and borderline false assertions previously made to courts, or will the presumption(s) revert to the typical “seriousness of the charges” trumps the civil rights of one who is indicted?
This Jeffs dude is ultra-creepy and I wouldn’t be at all shocked to learn that he is a child and/or wife abuser. But, please, let’s be sure i’s and t’s are handled correctly with dots and crosses.
Great to see you post again, DRJ!!!

master shake, why encourage them? Why instigate? I came to this post to escape all that tired arguing…

Just you, master shake.

You just did.
Well done! Anytime anyone looks for this story and adds the name of the junior Senator from Lincoln’s home State, this page will pop up.
Aren’t you proud of yourself?

I haven’t been a fan of Bill Paxton since “Weird Science”. He just looks like a meathead (thank you, Archie Bunker).

I totally forgot he was in that.

Just like I can’t look at David Strathairn without seeing him as “Mother” in Robert Redford’s little group of high-tech second story men, I can’t look at Paxton without seeing that slime monster next to Kelly LeBrock.

I have to look up all your references!

Sorry. I have a train of thought that doesn’t so much chug along as hop at random…

I’m just bad with actor’s names. I still love that show though. Not sure why.

the only Obama link I’m aware of, aside from Master Shake’s fantasy, was that one worker of his that had some kind of problem with the church and faked some charges, apparently to save kids from the horrors of rape she (the worker) couldn’t prove.
Obama ain’t perfect, and his religious views are unusual to say the least, but he’s no rapist of children, I am happy to say.
As far as the election goes, this might have some minimal impact on Mitt Romney not being the VP, but probably it doesn’t have any connection with pretty much anybody outside the church’s ‘it’s our ranch and it’s our homes’ walls.

Wasn’t she a delegate, not a worker?
Come to think of it, which would be worse?
