JVW, back in ’66 when they won the WC, recall the country went nuts- partied forever, issued and reissued postage stamps with ‘England Wins’ – WC scarves and caps were worn by everyone and the win was worked into every aspect of daily life. Went on for years; they were endlessly proud of it; back in the Bobby Charleton era when he was a player.
