Depravity: Jeffrey Epstein Sent 12-Year Old Girls As “Birthday Present”

Just when you think that Jeffrey Epstein couldn’t have been involved in any deeper level of depravity than we already know about, we get reminded that depravity has no limits:

Jeffrey Epstein once had three 12-year-old girls from poor families flown in from France as a sick birthday present for himself, according to newly unearthed court documents.

Virginia Giuffre — who has claimed Epstein and his gal pal Ghislaine Maxwell coerced her into being a “sex slave” when she was 15 — said in court papers that the girls who were flown in were molested by the financier and returned to France the following day.

“The worst one that I heard from his own mouth was this pretty 12 year old girls he had flown in for his birthday,” she said, according to the document.

“It was a surprise birthday gift from one of his friends and they were from France. I did see them, I did meet them,” she said.

She said they were a gift from Epstein’s acquaintance Jean-Luc Brunel, a model scout, according to the Daily Mail.

Despicably, he boasted about it afterward:

“Jeffrey bragged afterwards after he met them that they were 12-year-olds and flown over from France because they’re really poor over there, and their parents needed the money or whatever the case is and they were absolutely free to stay and flew out.”

Giuffre said Epstein had described to her how the girls had massaged him and performed oral sex, according to the Daily Mail.

“He went on to tell me how Brunel bought them in Paris from their parents, offering them the usual sums of money, visas, and modeling career prospects,” she said, according to the news outlet.

“Laughing the whole way through, Jeffrey thought it was absolutely brilliant how easily money seduced all walks of life, nothing or no one that couldn’t be bought.

Jean-Luc Brunel has been accused of aiding in Epstein’s abuse of young girls, as well as having been accused by former models of drugging and date-raping them:

Jean-Luc Brunel, 72, is the former head of Karin Models and Mc2—two well-regarded international modeling agencies that launched the careers of cover girls like Ginta Lapina, Juana Burga and Sessilee Lopez. He has also been accused by former models of drugging and date-raping them, and by former employees of recruiting foreign, underage girls to be pimped out of Epstein’s New York apartments.

[…]

According to Brunel, the venture fell apart after Elite Models learned of the sex-trafficking allegations against Epstein. The modeling agent even sued Epstein in 2015, claiming the allegations had tarnished his agency’s reputation and caused him a “tremendous loss of business.” But at least two people have claimed that Brunel not only knew about the trafficking—he was an active participant.

Virginia Roberts (now Giuffre)—one of the first alleged victims to speak out against Epstein…claimed in legal filings that Brunel was one of many powerful men she was forced to sleep with in her years as Epstein’s “sex slave.” She also accused Brunel of using his agency to find foreign girls, obtain visas for them, and “farm them out to his friends, including Epstein.”

“A lot of the girls came from poor countries or poor backgrounds, and he lured them in with a promise of making good money… Jeffrey Epstein has told me that he has slept with over 1,000 of Brunel’s girls, and everything that I have seen confirms this claim.”

  1. I just really don’t care how Epstein died. On behalf of these poor girls, I’m just glad he’s dead.

  2. Virginia Giuffre? I have no reason to believe anything she says and the best reason in the world not to: She is a “poor unfortunate girl” looking for more money.

  3. I am sure that Epstein’s friends and heirs will be badly treated by gold-digging pseudo-victims, hidden among the many actual victims.

    I don’t care.

  4. Nk, read the link about Brunel. His involvement relies on notes to Epstein. Not every girl who claims to have been the victim of a rich and powerful man are gold diggers.

  5. 12-year-old-girls as birthday gifts? Perhaps that’s standard fare for plutocrats.

The rest of we peons usually have to make do with a gift of 12-year-old scotch.

  6. Didn’t these girls have parents? “Bye Mom, I’m going to Jeff’s island for a few days. Don’t wait up!” “OK, honey, don’t forget your BCPs.”

  7. Apparently he signed his last will (for an estate worth approx. $570 mil) two days before he died.

  8. @1. Suspicions will simmer; accepting he offed himself all on his own is a hard pill to swallow– even hnging from a bedsheet w/a busted neck.

Look at the deal he cut skating through the last legal mess. Too much info to trade this time for reduced sentencing; way too may reputations at risk.

Plutocrats protect their own. Won’t be surprised if he was ‘Rommel-ed’ out of this life.

  10. Yes. A depraved man.

And yes WHERE WERE the parents? Were they the “cool” ones? Or just indifferent?
    WTF?!

I’m just not cosmopolitan enough for the Polanski/Epstein set.

Only wish his enablers would be outed, as only he could have done it.

  11. Dana, this is not my site and I want to make it clear that I am only expressing my own personal disbelief of Virginia Giuffre in regard to this particular allegation. Nothing more.

  12. “Were they the “cool” ones?”

Not sure what point you’re trying to make here, but if you read the article, you’ll see they were the “poor” ones.

  13. Nk, understood. That’s fine.

    Dana (fdf131)

  14. Gary Hoffman,

I know it’s horrible but according to the report, the parents took money and gifts and promises of modeling careers for the little girls. It’s really incredible they would do that.

    Dana (fdf131)

  15. I assume the parents were promised their girls would be trained as models, and let them go in total innocence. It would only be after the girls were under Brunel’s control away from family that the sexual action was forced on them. It’s a basic technique (although the promised job of course would differ according to time and place) that has been practiced by pimps and procurers for as long as there have been pimps and procurers.

  16. “I’ll tell you the funniest is that I’ll go backstage before a show and everyone’s getting dressed. No men are anywhere, and I’m allowed to go in, because I’m the owner of the pageant and therefore I’m inspecting it. … ‘Is everyone OK?’ You know, they’re standing there with no clothes. ‘Is everybody OK?’ And you see these incredible-looking women, and so I sort of get away with things like that.”

  17. Thank you, Dana.

To change the subject a little, Epstein’s death may have thrown a monkey wrench into the lawsuits, or at least the choice of forum. I believe that New York has a Dead Man’s Act, but I don’t know the details of it. I know Florida does not. This is Illinois’, a good example, in relevant part:

    (735 ILCS 5/8-201) (from Ch. 110, par. 8-201)
Sec. 8-201. Dead-Man’s Act. In the trial of any action in which any party sues or defends as the representative of a deceased person or person under a legal disability, no adverse party or person directly interested in the action shall be allowed to testify on his or her own behalf to any conversation with the deceased or person under legal disability or to any event which took place in the presence of the deceased or person under legal disability ….

Moreover, the state law is the rule of decision even if the suit is in a federal court (FRE 601, See Committee Comments).

    Auf Englisch, bitte.

    Dave (1bb933)

  19. You could not testify to anything that Epstein said, did, or happened in his presence, in a lawsuit against his estate, whether in state or federal court, in a state that has this law (about half of them).

    nk (dbc370)

  20. Remember when the estate of some musician who had died sued Led Zeppelin for stealing the opening riff to “Stairway To Heaven”? Well, Jimmy Page would not have been allowed to testify that he had bought the riff from the deceased for a lid and a dozen reds. Like that.

    nk (dbc370)

  21. It means that since Epstein is no longer available to testify on his own behalf and challenge contrary testimony, no one suing Epstein’s estate can testify on their own behalf about any conversations or interactions they had with him. Documents, other people who may have been present but are not suing Epstein’s estate, etc can still be used as evidence/witnesses.

So Guiffre can not testify on her own behalf. She could testify on behalf of other victims, I think. [I am not sure how the possibility of “I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine” arrangements are guarded against.]

Given the circumstances of this case, choice of forum might include the Virgin Islands.

    Kishnevi (3cd3a0)

  22. As usual nk is quicker and briefer than me.

    Kishnevi (3cd3a0)

  23. You said it better, though, kishnevi.

    nk (dbc370)

  24. At this point it wouldn’t surprise me if they found Natalee Holloway in the vault on Epstein’s island…

    Dave (1bb933)

  25. Thanks nk and kishnevi for the very clear explanations.

    Dana (fdf131)

  26. Yes, thank you both.

  28. Re: Virginia Giuffre:

    She’s accusing too many men.

If it happened at all that she was sent to another man that would have been Prince Andrew. There’s actually a picture of him with her (although thery may have just bene nearby each other.)

About Jeffrey Estein’s death: It’s been reported that the last time the guards checked in on Jeffrey Epstein was “about” 3:30 am. (why “about?”)

He was found when they came to look in at him (or start the day?) at about 6:30 am.

In his will, written two days before the end, he reportedly put all or most of his assets in a trust. I heard or read no more details.

    Sammy Finkelman (6a3404)

  29. The will could be in probate for several years and could be contested.

    Gawain's Ghost (b25cd1)

  30. After the Spartacus uprising, Rome passed strict slave-control laws, much like the Southern states did after Nat Turner. [Where is nk going with this?] [Wait, you’ll see.] One of these laws limited the number of slaves an owner could free in any one year.

There was a very rich Roman, a freedman himself, who wanted all of his 25,000 slaves to be freed and given a small legacy upon his death. However, that could be contested under Roman law. So what he did was also leave legacies, large ones, to the two Consuls and the dozen or so Praetors and other top magistrates of Rome. That way, no one would dare to contest the will and tie it up in the courts for years. [Are there yet?] [Almost. Keep reading.]

If Epstein was smart [Yes, he was, very.], and nasty [Ditto.], and wanted to stick it to the girls and their lawyers one last time [Sounds like him.], he will have left large amounts to powerful, wealthy and influential organizations and individuals who will fight tooth and nail to make sure every penny goes to them, in an irrevocable testamentary trust, with a pour over provision in his will.

    nk (dbc370)

  31. 12. If you’re not a parent, you wouldn’t get it.

Even if “poor,” most parents do not turn a blind eye to a situation like that. Poor, middle class or wealthy, most parents have a universally calibrated BS and Danger detector that activates when a kid under 18 says they’re heading off the “Jeff’s island.”

  32. https://nypost.com/2019/08/20/jeffrey-epstein-an-evil-genius-for-filing-will-in-the-virgin-islands/

Read the whole thing if you want. It’s short and at 5th grade reading level as per the Post’s usual standards.

It mentions that the lawsuits were filed in New York and will stay there, and that’s what matters if correct. Here’s the link to New York’s Dead Man’s Statute. It’s pretty much what we discussed above, with one exception that may or may not apply: The girls can testify about things that Epstein had been deposed on prior to his death. In the case on trial, or any case, I can’t say.
