By a vote of 50-48, Brett Kavanaugh has been officially confirmed by the U.S. Senate to the Supreme Court.

President Trump weighed in:

Mr. Trump said Judge Kavanaugh would be quickly sworn in. “I applaud and congratulate the U.S. Senate for confirming our GREAT NOMINEE, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, to the United States Supreme Court,” he wrote on Twitter. “Later today, I will sign his Commission of Appointment, and he will be officially sworn in. Very exciting!”

  1. I’m going to write something I thought I’d never commit to type… fantastic job Republicans. Seriously, that was a well fought battle in which you didn’t give an inch, played it perfectly, and won the day. I’m actually considering voting straight Republican in November just to help send a message, and for the first time ever considered donating to Graham as a thank you for his bullish take on this confirmation proceedings and encourage him to move forward with his investigation of the Democrats.

  2. Sean, your comment reminds me of Jay Nordlinger’s tweet:

From a conservative who has been disgusted by the Trumpified GOP: “I didn’t think I could drag myself to the polls. But after the Left’s performance in the Kavanaugh affair, I would crawl across broken glass.” I believe this sentiment is common.
