MayBee Schools TIME and Obama
Obama whines about the news media’s allegedly unfair treatment of him:
I mentioned that I was in Asia on this trip thinking about the economy, when I sat down for a round of interviews. Not one of them asked me about Asia. Not one of them asked me about the economy. I was asked several times about had I read Sarah Palin’s book. (Laughter.) True. But it’s an indication of how our political debate doesn’t match up with what we need to do and where we need to go.
TIME quotes his whine.
MayBee sets them both straight:
UPDATE: Over Twitter, reader MayBeeTweet points out that Obama did not accurately characterize his interviews in Asia. Fox News’ Garrett asked both about the jobs bill Obama has proposed and the South Korean trade agreement. NBC’s Chuck Todd asked about the jobs summit and Chinese relations on human rights.
Nice.

Wow.
Thank you!

President O’Dumbo is a bald face liar. I’m totally shocked, not.
Comment by Scrapiron — 12/7/2009 @ 7:00 am
As much as I do think the press falls short oftentimes, it’s more important to focus on the quality of President Obama’s answers. He gave each of those reporters- what?- about 10 minutes to interview him while in Asia.
He stopped giving good answers about health care reform sometime during his last prime time press conference. Instead, he talked about foot chopping doctors and Americans only having to give up things that don’t make us well.
So really, how dare he complain about the questions he’s asked.

And by “asked about”, Obama meant “nodded along in glowing approval”.

I wonder if they’re checking the invitations list at this pity party.

Thanks Patterico and MayBee. Fact checking just really is not that hard. Too bad the, er, “real” journalists don’t seem to bother anymore.
Comment by elissa — 12/7/2009 @ 7:33 am
Perhaps Obama meant that he had not been asked precisely the questions that he wanted to be asked.

Geez, this guy lies as naturally as he breathes– he’s almost sociopathic. Even a politician should know how to be more subtle about it; Obama does it blatantly.

He’s just stupid and ignorant.
But what pecs. And that just graying hair, with that baby face and deep manly voice …. Sorry, I have to go somewhere for a while.

Good job. He’s a very facile person I think.

Yay, Maybee. Thanks very much for correcting the record in that way you do.

nk: You forgot to mention Michelle’s arms.

Apparently the Admin. doesn’t like the free exchange of ideas and wants to marginalize anyone who won’t sip the koolaid. Here they want Mara Liasson to stop being a panel contribuotr on Fox. So much for “transparency”. These folk just don’t get tired of spitting in our faces, do they?
Have the American sheeple sunken to a level that they go along with this. Calling for journalists with an ounce (please, just an ounce) of integrity left (Bro. Bradley alrewady present and accounted for, with many more than a mere ounce).

The media poobahs say all politicians lie all the time. I think that is an effort to smokescreen for the real monsters who actually do lie all the time.
I know Bush wasn’t a perfect president by any means, but he seems to mean what he said and said what he meant. He didn’t pretend his problems didn’t exist, and invent bullshit about his critics. He didn’t even seem to attack his critics, since he was the president and it’s kinda horrible for the president to attack citizens like that.

The best part of the Politico piece was And I think that if you looked at some of the fake stories that were created that the mainstream media felt they needed to go chase — because, you know, for whatever reason, they were getting pressure to, quote, ‘Why aren’t you being balanced?’
Politico leans left but the hilarious part is those “fake stories” like the CRU e-mails and Gore’s carbon footprint and Baucus’s girlfriend and the rationing in the health bill, etc, etc, etc.
The real story here is NPR’s nervousness about Mara being seen to “balance” Fox because NPR is a leftist outfit. They don’t want THAT to become the theme.

A) He wants to appear superior. “Hey, I’m the only serious person in the room, talking about serious issues.”
B) He’s the self-pitying victim. “Hey, stop asking me about Sarah Palin; this is supposed to be all about ME.”
C) He also believes that the press is slanted so far to the left, they couldn’t possibly do anything other than fawn over him. “Hey, where’d my peeps go?”
D) All of the above.

Let me backtrack a minute-
Yes, 3 cheers for Maybee!
I gave the links as above, since I thought it went with the theme of dishonest media and the forces behind it.

Excuse me, please. You are talking about the President that mischaracterizes and is disingenuous beyond a fault? I have come to sincerely believe that Obama’s reality is 100% different than most Americans. That is why we have such a hard time with him and why he doesn’t “get” us…nor do his minions and his ilk brethren.”

But what pecs.
That’s what I don’t get at all – the guy’s a beanpole, he looks like a real wimp. Not to mention how he acts…

When two very good friends (whom I have known since college) and I get together after work we can honestly and “safely” discuss politics, if you know what I mean. After dissecting the latest egregious acts or faux pas of Pres. O, one of us always concludes, “He is not one of us.” We then solemnly nod our heads and have a drink.

Ah, President BHOmbastic. Just when I think my crop of politicians are the worst, most corrupt, most incompetent, most Mob-like in world history, the current POTUS comes and proves me wrong every single time.

This is the guy who closed to the public a meeting with federal employees on transparency. What did you expect? I guess he doesn’t understand the concept of irony.
