A Vote for Common Sense

Filed under: Blogging Matters — DRJ @ 2:03 pm

[Guest post by DRJ]

Our adjective-laden Dana’s blog Common Sense Political Thought is in the running for Blog of the Year at Delaware Liberal and he’s desperately seeking votes.

If you like Dana, Dana’s blog or you just like adjectives, go vote. It’s the 5th poll from the top.

  1. right now between seven competitors the dude is in first place with 42 out of 88 votes. Surely patterico patrons can up that meager amount.

  2. Isn’t the dude in first place the dude at whose site the poll is hosted?

  3. If you like Dana, Dana’s blog or you just like adjectives

    Eh, I voted for Dana anyways… 🙂

  4. Well I voted for Dana because with a name like that….!

    Dana (79a78b)

  5. Hell, I get a 150 visits from .gov sites every time I criticize Hillary here. The fix has to be in. Delaware Liberal is running too and Dana’s votes are going to internet nirvana.

    Yup!

I occasionally comment at the Delaware Liberal, so I guess that’s why they threw my site into the hat. When I first saw it, this morning, they had 37 votes for themselves, and I had one. Last time I checked, they were up to 42, and I had 29.

    I’m having fun with this

  7. So, we have a Dana and an Adjective/Dana? Do I have that right?

  8. […] We got a (begged for) shout-out from DRJ of Patterico’s Pontifications. Patterico only averages 5,222 visits a day, and has over 8,000 so far today. Last time I looked, […]

  9. Patricia: yeah, there are two of us. If the signature is just Dana, that’s the Dana who runs a pretty good photo blog. If you see any stupid amusing adjectives applied, that’s me.

  10. Nah, we have a good-looking, nice-smelling Dana and a cement-contractor who uses a lot of adjectives Dana.

With that sentence you tied him at three apiece. Smooth.

  12. Don’t waste your votes. We are sort of like Republicans. We plan on rigging the outcome

  13. Nice try, donviti, but as seen in Minnesota, its Democrats who rig votes.

  14. Adjectival Dana’s winning now, 48 to 43.

  18. OK, just voted for Dana…66 to 73 now. Go Dana go!

  19. Ahhh, well now they’re upset:

Looks like the Blog of the Year poll is being freeped, for why does it have 2 times as many total votes as every other poll? — Delawaredem

It’s not enough that Dana and his crowd took a huge shit on the US of A for the last eight years, they now have to shit on our poll. Stupid republicans. — nemski

Hey, I was just doing like their presidential candidate did: brought new voters into the system! Surely they can’t complain about that! 🙂

And like their candidate, I have declined to use federal matching campaign funds.

LOL Yeah, to liberals, apparently democracy’s nothing but “sh**” and voters “stupid” when they don’t like the results. 🙂

  22. Come on, everybody! Dana is a long-time commenter here, and unfailingly polite to the left and the right. I already voted and I cannot vote again. How about the rest of you who have not yet voted clicking on the link above and putting Dana over the top by at least a few hundred votes. I know you’re out there and you can do it if you want to. Remember, if it’s not close they can’t cheat.

Such civility. I can hardly believe I’ve never come here to bask in your beneficence.

I could see Dana’s PA voters marching down Broad St. chanting “We Shall Overcome”

    Can we help Dana win?

    YES WE CAN!

    Scott Jacobs (a1c284)

  24. Don’t bother voting. Voted for Dana from work and it got added to Delaware Liberal’s tally.

It’s like they want to PROVE that the rules don’t matter.

    Scott Jacobs (a1c284)

  25. I’m not sure what #25 is talking about but that didn’t happen. We are using pretty standard plugin for wordpress. So, cry all you want, you might want to fix your eyes.

anyone thinking that Bush will go down as the Best president Ever doesn’t deserve to win and won’t don’t worry….

  26. Thems are fighting words. Go get ’em, everybody.

    nk (2f022a)

  27. anyone thinking that Bush will go down as the Best president Ever

    A) I’m pretty sure Dana doesn’t actually think that

    B) I am absolutely not surprised that the party of utter divisiveness would be incapable of grasping the simple – the oh so simple – concept of “there are shades of emotion between “worshiping Bush 43” and “hoping he bursts into flame”.

The simplicity those people display truly astonishes me. Things like “he’s a republican he can’t prove it” – as though the former directly causes the latter – fill me with pity. These are people who would have you believe they are serious, studious people interested in debate. That such rampant projection – as witness by the 100% timeless classic “He will just repeat it over and over until it turns true” – is apparently their norm is really quite sad.

And no, donviti, no one on your site has hurt my feelings. For that to happen, I would actually first have to have some measure of respect for your merry little band, and hold their opinion is any kind of regard.

Have fun with your little rigged party, kids!

    Scott Jacobs (a1c284)

  28. To be accurate, I did say on the Delaware Liberal that, thirty years from now, George Bush would be regarded as one of our better presidents, and I still believe that to be the case. No one would say “Bush will go down as the Best president Ever” because that would mean putting him against George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, presidents who are as much a part of lore as of history.

  30. anyone thinking that Bush will go down as the Best president Ever doesn’t deserve to win and won’t don’t worry….

Anyone who uses this kind of garbled syntax and grammar could use a few refresher courses at their local Sylvan Learning Centers – when you go down to register, look up Pre – K Training.

  31. No one would say “Bush will go down as the Best president Ever” because that would mean putting him against George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, presidents who are as much a part of lore as of history.

Also, Barack Obama is the bestest President evah, and everyone knows it except for you wingnuts.

    Huh? Inaugu-what?

  34. The voting closes at noon, EST. Looks like, absent a huge surge in the last five minutes, I’ll finish in second place, but the site itself will be denied a 50% + 1 victory, which means: I can demand a runoff election!

The Dana who's going to finish second (3e4784)

  35. Considering they cheated, I would call second place pretty good.

    Scott Jacobs (a1c284)

  36. hoping he bursts into flame

LOL, that’s a good one. Well, he is Satan, isn’t he?

If Dana denies the site its 50 plus 1 he can filibuster all their discussions!

    Patricia (89cb84)

  37. Interestingly enough, the voting has been closed for over half an hour, but the results aren’t there. The entire post says:

Here it is, the Mother of all Polls. Cast your vote for each of the categories. Polling closes at noon on the 31st.

Polling is closed. Thanks for participating.
