National Review on Kate Smith: Right on the Nose, As We Can Now Prove

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 8:29 am

Good piece. Teaser:

Kate Smith is not a reporter at all. She is an advocate for abortion rights who exploits her perch at CBS to disguise as fact the opinions of the country’s most radical abortion-rights activists. She is Planned Parenthood’s ambassador to CBS, posing as a reporter and constructing articles that more closely resemble press releases for the nation’s most powerful abortion-rights advocacy groups. She has traded her objectivity for access to these organizations, offering them the kid-glove treatment so they will permit her to be the first to publicize their PR campaigns, interview their leaders, and scoop their briefs in court cases.

Read it all.

  3. Just a coincidence, I’m sure. I know the media is objective and harbors no bias because Democrats have told me so.

  4. If you don’t like abortions don’t have one! If you want to decrease abortions stop making getting on welfare so onerous and increase the amount. Don’t say the bible says abortion is murder its not (exodus 21:22-25) Don’t say the state has a right to stop abortions and birth control ;but once your born kid your on your own because welfare is socialism/communism and if private charities are overwhelmed well to bad. The supreme court should remember what happened with the dred scott decision.

  7. “Paperback writer! She’s got a steady job with CBS, but she wants to be a publicist for Planned Parenthood.” “Journalistic ethics” is in that same list of oxymorons as “jumbo shrimp” and “military intelligence”.

Not to hijack the thread, Lord knows we have enough Ukraine invasion comments, but this is a headline today from CNN:

Russia will shut off gas supplies to Poland, state-run company says

You have to read all the way to end to get the real facts:

Poland’s Climate Minister Anna Moskwa affirmed on Tuesday that there will be no shortage of gas in Poland despite the Russian halt of exports.
“Poland has the necessary gas reserves and sources of supply that protect our security – we have been effectively independent of Russia for years,” she said in a tweet.
“There will be no shortage of gas in Polish homes,” the minister wrote.

  8. I bet she won’t sing “God Bless America” either.

Well, at least they removed the statue of her which stood outside of The Spectrum, or whatever the hell the indoor arena in Philadelphia is now called. That will hopefully keep her in check in her new baby-butchering advocacy job.

But seriously, I get a chuckle when the old Kate Smith gets erased from history over silly racist Tin Pan Alley songs from 90 years ago, just like long-dead Confederate colonels have their names stripped from college buildings. It always makes me think that maybe 90 years from now we will be erasing the names of the head cheerleaders for abortion — Ted Kennedy, Bill & Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, etc. — from history once we come to grips with how horrible and barbaric the extremist abortion policies of the early 21st century had actually become. I hope young Kate Smith (or at the very least her immediate descendants) is around to see it.

  9. Some of those songs of Smith’s were indeed terribly racist. But her whole generation (and those that came before) were terribly racist too.

Martin Luther King, Jr was a terrible womanizer. So was JFK. One day that will be a problem.
