The summer winds down, college football resumes while New York City schools punt on reopening, the stupid election is still 46 days away, but at least clever people are doing hilarious things on the Internet:

  1. I guess it’s time to admit that I am a huge fan of accordion playing. I think it comes from growing up in a community with large Mexican, Slovenian, and Italian ethnic groups.

    Here. I suppose it does bear some similarities to a smaller Chicago, though it has way more of a Southwestern than a Midwestern vibe.

  5. This is funny. Thanks for posting it.

    I have a sis-in-law who is an incredible musician. She can hear a tune, any tune, and immediately play it on the piano…as well as on the accordion. They live in a retirement town, and for fun, they ride the golf cart around and she sits on the back and plays her accordion to the enjoyment of their neighbors.

  6. I would have absolutely hated my parents had they forced me into accordion lessons as a kid. But all these years later I would be immensely thankful that they had. Or else, you know, maybe my hatred of the lessons would have ruined the accordion with me for all time.
