Happy Birthday, Patterico’s dad. May he rest in peace and/or enjoy as vigorous an afterlife as he desires.
Make America Ordered Again (23f793) — 3/17/2020 @ 8:08 amThe first two links don’t work because the stuff transferred here from Blogspot appears to have been lost, I think in a disaster responding to spam trolls a couple of years ago. I have not been motivated enough to deal with that. Everything and everybody dies, and I guess those early posts died a little before their time.
Patterico (115b1f) — 3/17/2020 @ 8:09 amThe Wayback Machine has a snapshot of the first two links; I tried getting them through the spam filter, even putting spaces in them to be removed later, but they got eaten up. You might look for my comment from a minute ago wherever spam goes if you like and want to update your post with direct links to those snapshots.
Make America Ordered Again (23f793) — 3/17/2020 @ 8:23 amHappy Days.
Lost my Pop in Sept. He would have been 91 on March 4.
harkin (b64479) — 3/17/2020 @ 8:27 amI’m sorry to hear you recently lost your father, harkin, and at the same time happy he was loved by you and lived a long life.
Make America Ordered Again (23f793) — 3/17/2020 @ 8:31 amI know you aren’t in the office today, but are you sporting the shamrock bowtie anyway?
JVW (54fd0b) — 3/17/2020 @ 9:45 amMay his memory be eternal, Patterico.
nk (1d9030) — 3/17/2020 @ 10:23 amAgain, condolences, I know you were close. In a way I envy your for that.
Kevin M (ab1c11) — 3/17/2020 @ 10:26 amI lost my father a few years ago, as well. I raise a glass to your father’s memory, Patrick.
Simon Jester (4e9f5a) — 3/17/2020 @ 11:47 amHappy Birthday to your dad. I hope your warm memories carry you through the day.
Nic (896fdf) — 3/17/2020 @ 12:50 pmTip of the cap to you, P.
My old man would have been 91– his box rests on the mantle near the TV [so he can hear the baseball and football games] and gets a ‘pat’ every few days or so- though we suspect he’d have much preferred to spend eternity in a bottle of J&B– or a Pabst Blue Ribbon can.
DCSCA (797bc0) — 3/17/2020 @ 3:59 pmHappy (belated) birthday to him. I love this tradition and I hope you keep up your insights, wit, logical, and (sometimes) snark for many years to come on this blog so you can continue wishing your dad a happy birthday.
Ryan (d02412) — 3/18/2020 @ 5:16 amJust saw this. No, it would have looked too odd with my T-shirt and shorts.
