Well done? Seriously?? I clearly don’t know the rules anymore. But I read through comments and learned that Hillary was just making a cute funny. What a relief. At least she didn’t say that Booker was articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy, am I right???
On a serious note: if you condemn racist commentary, quips, digs, snark coming from the right, then feel free to condemn this with equal gusto. But if you are on the right, and have rationalized and excused racist commentary, quips, digs, and snark coming from your own tribe, then maybe sit this one out.

-It’s racist (or at the very least ignorant) when white people assume that minorities are interchangeable.
-Getting to black men confused could be racist.
Teasing the moderator is a jerk move. At best it’s a tone deaf joke that makes light or racism. At worst it’s an accusation that the moderator is racist. Probably the former. If she’s going to try to encourage civility than she should do a better job modeling it.
I know a lot of people get very worked up about this type of thing, but if doesn’t seem like an actual example of racism (like Barr’s seemed to be) than not a big deal to me.

Look at the situation, and what you know about a person and decide for yourself. It’s possible to make racist/sexist joke and not be racist/sexist. It’s even possible to make a bad racist/sexist joke and not be racist/sexist. There does seem to be an heavy overlap between people who make bad racist/sexist jokes and people who generally dislike women/minorities.
To me this looks like a bad joke.
Similar to HappyFeet. Much of what HF says is consistent with someone that really really flat out hates women and thinks the sexual assault of women and children is funny and of little to no concern.
But the way in which he says those things, and the volume of times he says them, makes it look like maybe he’s just trying to be funny in a very repetitive way.
