Donald Trump’s Closing Argument

Filed under: General — Dana @ 8:51 am

[guest post by Dana]

Here is “Donald Trump’s Argument For America” ad which was released yesterday. The campaign reportedly spent $4 million to air the ad in nine battleground states.

It is the ad you would expect from Trump as it casts him as the outsider fighting for the little guy against the big “corrupt political establishment.” Trump also hits at “global special interests,” and reinforces the us vs. them theme of his campaign. At the end of the video, Trump tells voters, “the only force strong enough to save our country is us.”

Hillary Clinton’s campaign will also be releasing their own “positive closing message,” which will air in the battleground states during prime time shows on Monday.

  1. Good morning.

  2. I wonder if anyone else saw what Neil Cavuto called Trump’s “Lion King Moment” this morning? There’s no denying that the guy connects with a wide swath of the American people. Or you can go the Jay-Z/Beyoncé/Katy Perry pimpin’ for Clinton route.

  3. Colonel, Chappelle is an interesting guy. It’s clear he still voted for HRC (with quite a lurid metaphor), but he sees what everyone else is starting to see.

The system is rigged…and more to the point, broken.

  5. The system is not broken Simon Jester. The system is rigged and it’s doing exactly what the education establishment to the entertainment industry to the “news” media to the crooked government drones rigged it to do.

But for godssake don’t let him into your head or it will make you talk babytalk and call everyone else “pervy.”

Happy, I don’t think I can get my hands on enough Zantac for that.

  9. Sigh. Perves gotta perve, Kevin. Nothing can make our hatey-hatey pal act normally or productively, it seems.

Hoagie, I am not so sure about your comment, with respect. Lots of uber-Left types are really unhappy with how HRC got the nomination. The ones I know are conflicted about the wikileaks—-irritable at them being used, but quite angry about the “real” view HRC had of Bernie.

The folks I know would all be sitting out if someone other than DJT was running, in protest.

I don’t mean to be difficult here. Of course the MSM and Left (same thing) likes to thoughtlessly insult and demonize whoever else is running (sort of like baby talking perves, actually). But DJT, at every turn, kept making quite foolish choices that worked against his supposed goals.

So he was helping the Left, every time he tweeted out nutty stuff or insulted someone or hadn’t bothered to do his homework. Which is most of the time, sadly.

He has been pretty quiet the past couple of days.

It’s a Perfect Storm of suckitude, I fear.

  14. Well, the ad itself is not bad. It’s pretty much his consistent message. Not too many visual cliches, except for the citizens glaring deadpan into the camera. Please stop that! And people holding up little signs or someone whistling a happy tune in the background or quick cuts so you can’t understand what’s happening, which might be the director’s intent.

Hillary’s will be to the effect of, come on womynz, let’s send those polluting bigoted deplorables back where they belong!

I had been wondering if Trump was planning some sort of special closing argument. He did not disappoint. In my opinion, his final ad is the political ad of the year, if not the best ever. Watch it here first and I’ll include my thoughts below.

  17. It was a good ad. They did the best they could with what they had to work. Colonel, I would not be surprised that Chappelle lied about voting for H.

Yah, that ad is pretty decent. Now if I could just put what I know of Da Donald from the last 20 years out of my mind.
