It’s getting worse and worse out there for police. Three Baton Rouge Police Department officers were shot and killed earlier today. They were responding to reports of a man who was “shooting indiscriminately when he walked out between a convenience store and car wash across from Hammond Air Plaza,” according to eyewitness accounts provided to a local radio station. When police arrived, at least two other suspects opened fire, suggesting that this was a coordinated ambush.
Baton Rouge, of course, was the site of the July 5 shooting of Alton Sterling as he was being arrested for illegally selling movies and compact discs.
