Google Translate really is pretty amazing.
JVW (eabb2a) — 5/1/2016 @ 9:38 amAlso pretty dumb. It’s good for what it is, but too many people seem to think what it turns out is acceptable copy, and it really really isn’t. It’s a first draft that needs to be corrected by someone who actually speaks the language in question, or you get disastrous mistranslations.

Well sure, it shouldn’t be used as a document translation service. But if you want a quick word or phrase it is pretty amazing.
And, to Unorthodox Christians, Merry Christmas!
According to my calendar, Unorthodox Christmas doesn’t come until August 13.

nk (dbc370) — 5/1/2016 @ 4:55 pmGoogle translate isn’t half bad any more. But I find it helpful to translate something, and then translate it back. If it doesn’t make sense coming back into the original language, you might want to take another look at the translation. Y
WarEagle82 (5bf75f) — 5/1/2016 @ 5:49 pmThat’s a good thought.
MD in Philly (f9371b) — 5/1/2016 @ 5:51 pmThanks for your well-wishes. Orthodox say good Pascha between Good Friday evening and Midnight Saturday. Then, they say “Christ is risen.” The response is “Truly He has risen.” That is the greeting for the next 40 days until the Ascension. Although I am Greek Orthodox, the other Orthodox Christians-Russians, Ukrainian, Lebanese,Syrian, Ethiopian,Romanian, Albanian,Serbian and many more say the same in their own languages.
