I just wanted to take a moment to note that it’s been four years since Andrew died. He is missed.

Yeah, I last saw him February 3, 2012. Everyone was telling him happy birthday because he had had his (last) birthday two days earlier. A bunch of people were there, but at the end of the night I remember Andrew, Roman Genn (the cartoonist), Dale Launer (the screenwriter of My Cousin Vinny), and me there well past midnight, with them all telling crazy funny stories and me mostly listening, as I do. He looked great to me. Happy and full of life.

  9. We could use a guy like that in these dark days.

  10. The day Weiner couldn’t bring himself to face his own press conference, and Andrew just stepped up to the plate. Knocked Anthony right out of the Mayor’s race.

  13. Patterico, I used to enjoy listening to Orson Bean (AB’s father in law) talk about the family side of his life.

Bean used to come on the Dennis Miller Show, and he was always funny. Clearly so saddened about losing his daughter’s husband, and his grandchildren’s father.

I think about this when the name calling and “othering” begins: these are people too.

That’s why talking about policies is better than personality, to me.

  14. A fitting tribute to Andrew Breitbart would be to find and publicize the material he intended to release the day following his untimely death. Breitbart had carefully gathered information he regarded as surpassing in importance. After his death that information never saw the light of day.

If Andrew Breitbart’s life and death is to have enduring meaning, the fruit of his last labor should not be allowed to wither on the vine. His shade deserves the peaceful rest only the completion of his work can bring.

  15. Brietbart was a truly rare journalist, and I guess it’s no surprise that he was loathed by the comfortable and powerful and corrupt.

He just said what needed to be said.

  16. I truly miss him, though I never met him in person.
