Just One Year To Go

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 6:49 pm

Inauguration Day is January 20, 2017. As long as the person taking the oath has a net worth of less than $30 million, we’ll be just fine.

P.S. Yes, I know, Bernie Sanders is Mr. Poor Guy. I factored into my analysis the fact that he will never win.

  1. Thanks to Kevin M. for the reminder.

  2. Dana sees what I did there.

  3. This guy’s net worth is fairly modest, but I’m not sure that the US will be fine (unless Americans want their country to be France West/Venezuela North) if such a person is taking the oath of office in January 2017.

moneynation.com, January 2016: Bernie Sanders’ net worth is $528,014. Our Bernie Sanders net worth calculations come from analyzing his U.S. Senate financial disclosure forms.

In August of 2015, Bernie Sanders reported net worth assets at a minimum of $187,026 and a max of $759,004. Sanders also owns a condominium in Vermont valued at about $100,000. He has debts of at least $25,002 and as much as $65,000.

  4. One long year.

BTW, I could settle for Romney, who has over $30 mil. Given a possible Trump v Sanders election, about 75% of the population will be wanting another choice, and I’d not want it to be Bloomberg.

    What an amazing fustercluck.

  6. It won’t be Sanders. Just as I have predicted for over a year now, the 0bamas are starting to float the idea of Michelle running. They’ll deny it and deny it and deny it, and every time they do so it will gain more life. Until the day comes that Hillary is indicted, and her pledged delegates turn to Michelle and beg her take her place. Still she will refuse, until the whole party unites in begging her to selflessly sacrifice her retirement and rescue it from disaster. And then she’ll say yes.

Michelle likes the good life, and doesn’t want to give it up. And she’s got Jarrett to do the actual presidenting, just as she’s done it for the last 7 years.

  7. Then Milhouse, at the swearing in ceremony on January 20 she’ll do like Napoleon did and pull out a crown and crown herself empress.

  8. I think Joe Biden would be recruited before Michelle.

  9. Hoagie, it makes no difference what hat she wears to her inauguration. Her fashion sense is not the issue here. If that inauguration ever happens it will be equally disastrous regardless of her wardrobe.

  10. I think Joe Biden would be recruited before Michelle.

Why would the 0bama machine want Biden?

    Milhouse (87c499)

  11. Milhouse, something like:

Why, there was a crown offered her: and being
offered her, she put it by with the back of her hand,
thus; and then the people fell a-shouting.

  12. Trump will soon be president. 😀
    btw….

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33vZR2IV0Mc Hillary Clinton had aides send her top secret info through unsecure channels compromising national security.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pdqmw5J5ZeI Hillary Clinton finally admits 0bamacare destroys businesses, jobs and switches full time worker hrs to part time. Hillary/Bernie for Gitmo Prison in 2016. 😀

  13. I would HOPE it’s Michelle. There are millions and millions of former jr high and high school lunch victims who can now vote. She’d also have a tough time pretending it wasn’t Barack’s third term.

  14. Always good to have the drive-by lecture on yesterday’s news. I’m sure it’s appreciated wherever you go.

  15. Michelle isn’t eligible, she’s a Wookie, but not a natural born Wookie.

  16. She’d also have a tough time pretending it wasn’t Barack’s third term.

Oh, the whole point of the campaign would be to promise that it would be his third term.

    Milhouse (87c499)

  17. Then I would vote for Trump. Or get a circumcision and join ISIS. Or both.

  18. Patterico

Heh. ISWYDT. It’s a challenge you’ve impressively met this far. Kudos.

You realize, though, there’s a high likelihood that in the near future, avoidance will be nearly impossible.

  20. I’m considering one giant denunciation, just for the record, Dana.

    Patterico (86c8ed)

  21. Giant denunciation complete and scheduled for one minute after midnight.

When stuff gets stored up, it then all comes spilling out.

Fair warning, Trump supporters: I basically call you idiots.

    Patterico (86c8ed)

  22. Not a problem Patterico, I’ve been called worse. You’re every bit as entitled to your opinion as I am to mine.

  23. At this point voting does not look to interest me, an idle diversion for saps.
