Media Dishonestly Represents Ted Cruz’s Objection To His Daughters Being Denigrated By Cartoonist

Filed under: General — Dana @ 3:16 pm

[guest post by Dana]

It’s instructive to see the MSM dishonestly describing Sen. Ted Cruz’s objections to Ann Telnaes’s denigrating cartoon as nothing more than him being angry that a cartoonist drew his daughters. No, MSM, it’s that they were depicted as tethered monkeys dancing to the tune of an organ grinder. Big difference.

Of course, as I said last night, it would be an Entirely Different Story if it were Sasha and Malia Obama being depicted in such a crude and vulgar manner. It would be beneficial for the media, and Telnaes, to be reminded that even the Obama girls participated in political campaign ads on behalf of their dad:

However, try as I might, I am unable to find any cartoon by Telnaes depicting Sasha and Malia as tethered animals as a result of this ad.

While we have learned that Hillary Clinton is shamelessly pandering to Hispanic voters, what she is also doing is using her granddaughter as a “political prop” while she stereotypes Hispanics:

Again, try as I might, I could not find a cartoon by Telnaes depicting Clinton’s granddaughter as a tethered animal, either.

Anyway, we know how the game is played, and the usual suspects are more than willing to play the game with a standard manipulative deception:

USA Today:

The New York Times:

New York Daily News:

File this under yet more proof that the MSM is not to be trusted, and is certainly not unbiased.

  1. Hello.

  2. Dana, did you see Cruz’s response?

I’m liking Cruz more and more. Or is it I am disliking the statist establishment more and more?

It’s going to be ugly during this next year.

    Simon Jester (ebd364)

  3. Sheesh. We live in an age of total shamelessness, when nothing is too embarrassing or too humiliating to public figures, certainly of the left, and at least so much so to make someone like, for example, “Shrillery” lower her head and walk away into the sunset, never to be seen again. Instead we get a person like that approving campaign literature that contains a photo of her, her infant granddaughter and Monica Lewinsky’s plaything widely grinning, his hand touching a baby — and not even dealing with that picture being attached to an over-the-top, cynical manipulation of Latinas — etc, etc.

I’m liking Cruz more and more

If this society hadn’t become so shameless in its own right (and going down the pathway of Euro-sclerotic liberalism), Cruz being the next occupant of the Oval Office would be a sure thing, would be totally guaranteed. As for mocking the biases of the press, I also chortled when “Chump” told Anderson Cooper a few months ago — clearly, loudly, straight to his face — that the media is held in low regard.

  5. Thanks, Simon Jester, for the link. I’ve updated the post with Cruz’s tweet.

  6. Cruz has to beware of the three establishment amigos. boosh, crispy and rube as they seem to have unlimited funds for boob tube ads. In Massachusetts those 3 are out spending Cruz and trump by large sums, yet trail by double digits. I can see the establishment hacks making Cruz born in Canada a court issue, then being screwed by a judge that happens to owe them.

  7. Did the media pump the numbers of Cruz? He shot up mighty quick for a guy everyone hates?

  8. Dana, I also saw this via Instapundit.

    “Heh” comes to mind.

  9. I hope Cruz doesn’t make a blunder, there is no one else out there that I think is worth supporting.

I think it is possible that the repubs attacking him, would be a good thing, lots of people who should know better have bought the “Repubs are evil” meme and hence are Dems even though they can’t stand Clinton.

If Cruz can be made as an outsider, but not a R wing crazy, it might be the best thing for him.
He may be able to be on the offensive, as he has shown dealing creatively with hecklers/protesters.

  10. what if secretly the girls are actually monkeys

    happyfeet (831175)

  11. When i first saw the cartoon i didn’t see the organ grinder reference. I saw Sen Cruz as Santa Clause being a puppet master to monkeys. So maybe I should add to the criticism that she overloaded her cartoon with symbolism.

  13. I guess we shouldn’t be surprised by the vulgarity of the MSM as directed toward candidates on the right, but depicting his daughters as monkeys is jarring. I’m not sure that I care to imagine how disgraceful the attacks will be as Election Day nears.

    mg (31009b)

  18. OT, but it relates to the abuela of my children…
    I’ve got a famed tri tip roast…
I plan on marinating it (after piercing with a fork/knife) in what I use for beef burgundy.
Then I’m going to brown it/scorch it on the outside.

Then I was thinking of sticking it in a cooking bag with beef broth and sticking it in the oven to roast…

    What do ya’ll think???

  19. obama is a schlong.

Based on quite a bit of grapevine talk about his history as a teenager and more recently during his time as a senator in Illinois, he apparently wasn’t so much that as much as he liked dealing with that a lot when hanging around older guys during his high-school days in Hawaii and in bathhouses in Chicago.

Beyond that, America has allowed itself to get schlonged.

  21. i prefer my tri-tip grilled rare, sliced thin, and served with steamed asparagus, pinquito beans, garlic bread and a good Westside Paso Robles Zinfandel

that being said, i’ve also been known to sear the outside on the grill, then place the roast in a pan with chopped up onions, peppers, etc, as well as a beer or two, foil it over and place on indirect heat for several hours…

the roast will shred apart with no problem, and i then use it to make tacos/tostadas, by heating flour tortillas on the grill and adding salsa, then the meat/veggie mix, and cheese.

messy, but oh so tasty with a Negra Modelo or three. 😎

  22. MD,

I know the conventional wisdom is to brown meat first on high heat and then cook it on a lower heat, but I have more success with doing it the other way around. Either way, be sure to season it well before cooking and, after cooking, cover it with foil and let it rest for 20-30 minutes.

    DRJ (15874d)

  23. @MD: I second DRJ.

I’m cooking prime rib. 200F for 3-4 hours, then 8 minutes at 550F. Results are much better. The inside is evenly cooked and the outside is properly browned to just skin depth.

  24. You don’t see the face of that baby.

Is that baby her granddaghter, or somebody else? They are not even saying. Just, maybe, implying.

There was a relatively narrow window of time in which to take that picture. If they didn’t think of it in time, they’d have to use another baby.

What can somebody find out about that picture? Does it appear anywhere else on the Internet? What was its first appearance? Can it be dated?

8 lb. Spoon Roast over wood coals, Dry rub I love celery salt in this rub. Reverse sear – 250 for couple hours then I will roll the roast over hot coals to get the perfect sear. rare medium rare.
