Hillary Clinton’s Yoga Emails Come Back To Bite Her

Filed under: General — Dana @ 7:33 pm

[guest post by Dana]

Finally:

Hillary Clinton has instructed her attorney to hand over her private email server and a thumb drive of all her work-related emails to the Justice Department in an effort to blunt an expanding probe into the use of a private email account. Clinton “directed her team to give her email server that was used during her tenure as secretary to the Department of Justice, as well as a thumb drive containing copies of her emails already provided to the State Department,” her spokesman, Nick Merrill, told CNN early Tuesday evening. “She pledged to cooperate with the government’s security inquiry, and if there are more questions, we will continue to address them.” Merril said in the meantime, Clinton’s team “has worked with the State Department to ensure her emails are stored in a safe and secure manner.”

About those yoga emails? Well, there’s a bit of a problem:

[T]here’s the issue of Clinton having four classified emails on her server (despite not being marked as such), which led to a Department of Justice referral dealing with the potential compromise of classified information.

Well, as it turns out, two of them weren’t just supposed to be classified, they were top secret:

Untitled-2

NOFORN: Distribution to non-US citizens is prohibited, regardless of their clearance or access permissions (NO FOReign National access allowed).

As a reminder, a few months ago, top intelligence official, Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, offered this warning about Clinton’s email on Fox News:

“As a military officer, if I said I was doing something for convenience’s sake to the soldiers that I was leading and it was solely for my convenience instead of their, you know, their welfare, I should be relieved of duty. I would expect to be fired,” Flynn said. “You know, it’s one of those things where if it doesn’t feel good it probably isn’t. And this one doesn’t feel good to me.”

Kelly asked, “What do you think the odds are that the Chinese, the Russians hacked into that server and her e-mail account?”

“Very high,” Flynn said without hesitation. “Likely.”

“Really?”

“Yep. Likely. They’re very good at it. China, Russia, Iran, potentially the North Koreans. And other countries who may be ‘our allies’ because they can.”

Who could possibly trust our national security to a woman who has used such bad judgement and treated her high-ranking position, top secret material and the American people with such a cavalier and dismissive attitude?

  7. Something to consider: HRC’s history of hiding information. Remember the “missing” files that showed up in her office years later?

So even with damaging information, we have utterly no assurance that really awful stuff has not be removed or sanitized.

Most of this, I think, is due to her innate paranoia. Just the kind of person you want to see as POTUS, right?

  8. consider that the MSM will continue to ignore the email problem or pooh-pooh it as pure inside teh beltway stuff that doesn’t really mean anything. If the three men running against her don’t bring it up by the end of the week, then i would say she is home free on this issue.

I’m not quite as cynical and skeptical as you are, but when I read a post yesterday from a Patterico regular, kishnevi, about how he’d favor rotten Hillary over Donald Trump and (to paraphrase) wouldn’t necessarily give greater benefit of the doubt to other Republicans running against Bill’s doormat/Huma’s gal-pal — and thinking of kishnevi as a rather intelligent and non-uber-leftwing sort of person — I can’t help but shake my head and think that quite a few Americans have a lousy (very lousy) sense of the quality and character of public figures.

It reminds me of all the people back in the 1990s who pored over the evidence in the OJ Simpson trial but still didn’t believe the defendant murdered two people.

  16. Hillary’s use of a personal email address (@clintonemail.com) served to conceal her work documents from the State Department. It’s a felony to conceal government documents from the government when you work for the government. The penalty is up to three years in prison and permanent disqualification from holding public office.

However, I do think that Donald’s only goal is to advance the Donald brand and the press is thankful for the opportunity to ignore other GOP candidates. The left is looking desperately for another candidate while the press distracts the nation with Trump. . Honestly, no one wants Hillary to be President.

  28. It’s no wonder Bill and Hillary are soulmates: they are both fundamentally dishonest to an absolutely astonishing degree.

When the e-mail story first came out, the simplest thing would have been for Mrs Clinton to just tell the truth, that yes, there might have been classified information which went through her e-mail server, and yes, she was turning the server over to the FBI. It would have been painful, but it would pretty much have been over by now. Instead she lied, and held on to the server, when she should have known, when we all knew, that that would not be the end of it, that she’d have to turn it over eventually.

A pathological liar lies compulsively and impulsively, almost without thinking about the consequences of his action. He lies regularly on a spontaneous basis even if he gains no benefit from it, or even if he traps himself into it. A pathological liar cannot control his impulse to lie and it is usually a self-defeating trait.

That definition fits Mrs Clinton exactly: there was nothing to be gained — except, perhaps, in her imagination — and a lot to lose by lying, but she lied anyway. Some of that might be due to her sure knowledge that the professional media will cover for her, but she ought to know, by now, that the professional media aren’t everything anymore; her coming under fire in Kosovo lies should have taught her that.

If the professional media ever decide that they like Bernie Sanders, the way that they decided they liked Barack Hussein Obama in 2008, her candidacy is toast.

  29. she lies cause of this is how they take advantage of the lulling monotonous unending drumbeat of scandal scandal scandal that permeates her whole pitiful unethical sad life as the rancid unloved castaway of the deceitful and herpetic bill clinton

  30. If the professional media ever decide that they like Bernie Sanders, the way that they decided they liked Barack Hussein Obama in 2008, her candidacy is toast.

I kinda think that’s what all the hoopla is about with the emails. Under normal circumstances no leftist would ever be tarnished with such pedestrian nonsense. I seems to me the media may be lining up to sh!tcan Hillary! once again in favor of Sanders. After all he admits he’s a rotten socialist where Hillary! just nibbles around the edges of socialism. Hillary! is one of those who still tries to convince people there really is a difference between a socialist and a democrat. Can’t name one but she’s sure it’s there somewhere. The funny thing is I don’t think anybody likes Hillary!, even leftists. She is after all a really, really rotten person.

  31. BTW, anyone who has listened to and watched Bernie Sanders speak and thinks Trump is the only buffoon in the race is mistaken.

  32. I haven’t read through the other comments but I find this line truly mind bending:

“Clinton’s team “has worked with the State Department to ensure her emails are stored in a safe and secure manner.””

Wah? I mean isn’t that why the State Department is involved in the first place?

Its bit like Jack the Ripper working with Scotland Yard to insure the safety of prostitutes.

    Mark Johnson (751494)

  33. I think history is about to repeat itself.

A Virginia state delegate who resigned his seat due to a sex scandal involving a teenage staff member won a special election to regain his seat on Tuesday and will be sworn in Wednesday for the beginning of the legislative session.

Joseph Morrissey, an independent who previously served as a Democrat, won the special election over Republican Matt Walton and Democrat Kevin Sullivan. Morrissey drew 42 percent of the vote, while Sullivan got 33 percent and Walton got 24 percent, according to unofficial returns.

Morrissey resigned in December after pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, rather than face felony charges including possession of child pornography, indecent liberties with a minor and electronic solicitation of a minor…

Most of this, I think, is due to her innate paranoia.

It’s not paranoia. That’s maybe what she would want you to beleive, That is all for no good reason.

Actually she intended to hide criminal, or unethical, or politically damaging information.

Never mind being prosecuted, someone who was this careless with TS info would lose their clearance. It would make it hard to be president.

Being president, or Secretary of State, or even Senator automatically gives you clearance. (in the case a Senator, subject to any limitation put upon you by your colleagues.)

    Ag80 (eb6ffa) — 8/11/2015 @ 9:06 pm

The MSM doesn’t care and they are too busy with Trump. Especially now that Trump looks as if he can really sink the GOP candidates and the Hillary coronation can go on as planned.

Trump can’t sink the other candidates. He polls now at 18% in New Hampshire, and 16% in Iowa and (18% nationally) and has got more than double the number of people who dislike him. This is not winner take all, especially at these low levels.

He can maybe make a lot of trouble for the eventual nominee, either by getting them to endorse his positions or by running as a third party candidate.

Hillary’s coronation is in trouble. In the latest poll, Bernie Sanders is outright leading her in New Hampshire!

Now there are a lot of people who can vote in either primary, so if everybody who can votes in the Republican primary…but Trump will never look like he’s winning, so if you want to stop someone, a vote to stop Hillary looks like a better idea than a vote to stop Trump.

When the e-mail story first came out, the simplest thing would have been for Mrs Clinton to just tell the truth, that yes, there might have been classified information which went through her e-mail server,

She could even have said information that might better have been classified. But she wanted to portray total innocence and no fault. The Clintons never admit anything or apologize.

and yes, she was turning the server over to the FBI.

How would she know what lies to tell, if she couldn’t look at her e-mails??

And furthermore, there were just too many important secrets on there. I don’t mean U.S. government secrets. I mean Clinton secrets.

when we all knew, that that would not be the end of it, that she’d have to turn it over eventually.

No, she didn’t know that, and above all, she wants to avoid certain things from becoming public (or from being used to indict her and/or Bill Clinton)

A pathological liar lies compulsively and impulsively, almost without thinking about the consequences of his action.

No, no no, nothing was impulsive here. She didn’t answer any questions. She was scared. Finally, she made an appearance, and she had to thread the needle, and basically managed to do so. It was the last thing from impulsive.

The use of that private server was never supposed to become public, and it wouldn’t have, if not for the Benghazi investigation by the Trey Committee, and its extensive subpoenas of the State Department. She got away with keeping all her e-mails outside government records for one and half years after she left public office.

If the professional media ever decide that they like Bernie Sanders, the way that they decided they liked Barack Hussein Obama in 2008, her candidacy is toast.

I don’t know, but they probably would like her to lose, although maybe not to a anti-illegal immigrant and anti-abortion Republican.

  35. I am beginning to really believe that we are no longer a nation governed by law. We’re not even being ruled by law.

  36. “Clinton’s team “has worked with the State Department to ensure her emails are stored in a safe and secure manner.””

    She secured agreement.

But now the FBI overruled them, or was going to.

Now there’s one point. Having the server in the custody of the Department of Justice keeps it out of the hands of the House committee.
