Planned Parenthood To CMP: Stop Keeping Our Depravity In The Public Eye

Filed under: General — Dana @ 10:49 pm

[guest post by Dana]

Cecile Richards, president of the extremist group, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, is crying foul politics!:

Cecile Richards
✔@CecileRichards

“If you’re concerned about what’s going on, you should release all at once. Leaking one at a time, that’s politics.”

In the tweet, Richards links to a Wall Street Journal article in which the very definition of “ethicist” is rendered null and void by one Arthur Caplan* of the New York University School of Medicine who claims “the latest video doesn’t raise any red flags” and yet is nonetheless very troubled:

“What is bothering me is the leaking of the tapes one at a time,” he said. “If you’re concerned about what’s going on, you should release all at once. Leaking them one at a time, that’s politics. This type of water torture is to maximize political impact.”

Because there is nothing quite as torturous as waiting for yet another shoe of brutal truth to drop and expose you for the lawbreaking, depraved savage you really are, right? Not even that “less crunchy” torture comes close…

Anyway, Caplan is right in that there is very much a purpose behind the slow leak of the videos. It certainly maximizes the impact of Planned Parenthood’s baby harvesting scheme on the public conscience, as well as keeping the organization in the negative spotlight of their own making. Moreover, the slow leak provides no opportunity for Planned Parenthood to brush it all away, ignore it, or whitewash their barbaric butchery. They are kept off balance and unable to be in control and make a preemptive strike before the next video is released. Neatly, control remains beyond their well-financed reach. This is particularly problematic given that they know there are more videos to come and with no idea of what to expect or when to expect it, they will again find themselves at a disadvantage and in frantic damage control mode. The slow leak also maximizes the opportunity to push for defunding. And further, as more videos effectively show laws being violated , the greater the pressure on the DOJ to open an investigation into the extremist group.

Clearly Richards realizes that CMP’s strategy is working. Because that foul odor wafting through the air? It’s the smell of sheer desperation and fear.

*For the record, after watching the first PP video, Caplan expressed concerns that Planned Parenthood could be profiting from selling baby body parts and altering procedures in order to obtain tissue in the best condition possible, both of which are illegal.

  1. Hello.

    Dana (86e864)

  2. Stringing the videos out allows PP to say things like PP of Louisiana stating they don’t sell fetal body parts. Then out comes a video showing that they lied.

    Tanny O'Haley (8c334c)

  3. #2: true… that’s why PP wants them all out, so they can spin things.

right now, they have no idea what’s next, and any comment they make can blow up in their face shortly after being issued.

    which is a damn shame.

  7. There will be no federal prosecution of PP while Obama is in office. And for a real investigation, the next President will have to clean the DOJ of career leftist attorneys.

The next President will have a very large task, since this is hardly the only infected agency. He should be prepared to take the heat to get it all done, and be willing to be a one-term President if necessary because there will be pain and shouting.

  9. Is the Center for Medical Progress releasing these videos in a manner meant to maximize their political impact? Well, of course they are, and Panned Plarenthood is simply upset that CMP is playing better politics than PP is right now.

I’ve said it before: the only realistic way to reduce abortions now is to completely ostracize everyone who works for any abortion provider. Not just the “doctors” and “nurses,” but the clerks, technicians, cleaning staff, everyone. Their lives should be made as miserable as legally possible, so that they can see that we do not approve of them; they should be treated no better than a child molester.

That was an investigation by the Indiana Health Dept. to see if any Indiana laws were being violated. Do you have low reading comprehension or you just a BS’er? I suspect it’s more the latter, though elements may be in play.

  17. the investigation in Florida didn’t turn up any problems with how they were handling fetal tissue either Mr. A

it’s really starting to look like if there’s a problem at all it’s isolated to a handful of clinics as opposed to being anything systemic

  18. I find it ironic that Planned Parenthood is complaining about politics. Of course it’s no surprise given that the “politics” are the wrong kind. But I don’t think they see that…

  19. it’s really starting to look like if there’s a problem at all it’s isolated to a handful of clinics as opposed to being anything systemic

So you’re saying it’s becoming a cover-up led by the pro death people, the media and the democrats to cover their asses. You do realize all they need to do is renounce public funds. They have no right to make us fund their killings. This is why we need government out of so damn much.

    Rev. Barack Hussein Hoagie (f4eb27)

  20. of course they need to renounce funds Mr. Reverend

like Jeb says we don’t need to be spending half a billion dollars on stupid womens health issues

but the bill bread bags sponsored was just gonna shift that money to other freeloaders anyways

but some states like new hampshire are taking steps to defund

so gradually maybe we can get to a place where Planned Parenthood either finds private sources of monies or becomes self-financing in other ways

It is very clear that terrible things have been going on. But the Church of Abortion has a very strict theology, so to speak. Adherents must attack anything that threatens that church.

The problem here is simple. Some folks only think with the feelings. Which sounds ironic, but it is true. Historically, the man gets all wrapped up on a topic and does this kind of thing. I suspect that he likes being contrarian. I mean, he knows good people, here, who have never been rude to him and who are pro-life, and he persists in insulting them and making light of their concerns.

The link about Indiana didn’t relate to what these videos are talking about. The article said the Indiana clinics aren’t involved in tissue donations. As I already pointed out, it was an investigation about Indiana laws, not federal laws, by the Indiana Department of Health.

The phrase “handling fetal tissue”, which is what you keep focusing on, could mean various things. Chances are the Florida one doesn’t relate to this either. As I said, you’re a BS’er or have reading comprehension limitations. Maybe both. You’re BS’ing is similar to Obama actually.

Leaking them one at a time, that’s politics.

Yes, of course it is. How else do you suppose this can be stopped? Magic?!

Politics is the only way this can be stopped, and the greater the political impact of the videos, the greater the potential for that happening.

There is that logical problem, as well as the fact that they weren’t even looking for something going on with tissue donations

What’s astounding about happyfeet is how he keeps implying that anyone taking these videos seriously is easily manipulated and not being this real logical person like him.

  38. The MSM is more interested in Cecil the lion than showing the depravity of PP. From Goodwell Nzou who is from Zimbabwe.

We Zimbabweans are left shaking our heads, wondering why Americans care more about African animals than about African people.

Don’t tell us what to do with our animals when you allowed your own mountain lions to be hunted to near extinction in the eastern United States. Don’t bemoan the clear-cutting of our forests when you turned yours into concrete jungles.

And please, don’t offer me condolences about Cecil unless you’re also willing to offer me condolences for villagers killed or left hungry by his brethren, by political violence, or by hunger.

    http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2015/08/05/americans-outraged-over-killing-of-cecil-the-lion-handed-harsh-dose-of-reality-by-doctoral-student-who-knows-a-thing-or-two-about-wildlife-in-zimbabwe/

This is a problem with many on the left, they feign care for people, but view people as the problem. The Judeo-Christian view is that man is made in the image of God and is therefore precious. In a secular view man is the cause of all ills and must be exterminated. Except for the enlightened few like themselves. This is why president Obama can say pregnancy is a burden not a blessing. This is why PP sees nothing wrong with what they do and don’t want to be bothered by the unenlightened showing that they are barbarians.

    Mark (78b181)

  40. Of course would like them all out at once. Then they could prepare a defense, their apparatchiks in the media could send up covering fire (“Look! Somebody killed a lion!”), and it’s all over with by next week.

With a slow leak, it keeps bubbling in the news — you can’t find a distracting lion every time, altho’ they’ll try. Then there’s always the possibility that PP would say one thing in response to a video and the following video would show them to be liars. It keeps ’em playing defense. I think this is a brilliant strategy. My POV has always been you can’t currently win this on the law, but you can make abortion so repellant that decent people will have nothing to do with it.

Googled it, and realized it is in a shopping plaza I drive by several times a week. In fact I get haircuts at the Supercuts in that same plaza. I may take a closer look today . I have to wonder if the fact that the local community college is a block away is why they picked that location.

Or it may reflect the fact that a lot of people are like me and get their news off the Internet and not the MSM. I see stiries here, at other blogs, and on Facebook’s “trending” widget long before I turn on the TV. FWIW, the videos and related topics show up on that FB feed the day of release and then drop off a day or so later. But so did Cecil.

    kishnevi (294553)

  44. “the propaganda video clips are edited on purpose to evoke feelings instead of thinkings”

after this blows over Planned Parenthood’s operations are gonna be more buttoned down than ever before in terms of their security but also all their policies and procedures will be scrupulously in accord with all relevant laws and regulations

which is a good place for them to be as they start looking for more private funding and a more sustainable business model

i think we’re gonna see a strong and independent Planned Parenthood emerge what has all the i’s to where they have dots on them and the t’s have the cross-marks to everyone’s satisfaction

    happyfeet (a037ad)

  46. anyone taking these videos seriously is easily manipulated and not being this real logical person like [happyfeet]

i think this is somewhat overstating things, but seriously

it was a sting operation where a bunch of fanatics made appointments with people at planned parenthood and manipulated conversations to where they could get snippets to use in their lil propaganda youtubes

Not only do the full transcript paint a *far* different picture…

    but so far

we don’t have an even remotely accurate picture of what planned parenthood’s actual for reals fetal tissue research program looks like in its scope, its economics or in its particulars

and these CMP losers call themselves journalists

    i can’t get over that it’s such a misnomer

They don’t know what real journalism is anymore than the cable news propaganda sluts do!

I’m really disappointed in all you people what are buying into all this flimflammery, but i think with time once the excitement wears off you’ll see how cruelly you’re being manipulated.

It’s not that they haven’t reported the PP videos, it’s just that in a 3 week period the nets spent 92 minutes on Cecil the lion and 20 minutes on the PP videos. It’s also the way they cover the subject. The dentist (notice they highlight that he is a dentist, someone not well liked in society) brutally murdered poor Cecil the lion after tricking him out of his nature preserve. Lots of outrage. No outrage about what PP is doing in the videos. Also, notice they highlight the dentist’s name and never mention the names of the people from PP. When they mention the videos, they call them deceptive and edited (even though the full videos were released). They also repeat verbatim the PP talking points.

There is something wrong with the conscience of our society when PP’s actions are not viewed as deplorable.

    Gerald A (e1ec12)

  54. Greetings:

As to the Planned Parenthood exposures, I’m a bit concerned by the continuing reference to “profiting” in some word form or other. Back in my printing days, we sometimes took on jobs that were not likely to produce any “profit” in the revenue minus costs sense. The underlying principle was referred to as “contribution to overhead” meaning that the revenue the job produced paid some rent, kept the lights on, and staff employed, etc. So, there were clear economic benefits to the firm regardless of the absence of profit.

At this point, I can’t help but wonder if the denouement of all this won’t be some semantic version of “no profit, no problem”.

    11B40 (6abb5c)

  55. As said above, there are “investigations”, and then there are investigations.
Like, “Do you do any illegal things here?” “Oh, noes, not here (wink, wink)”.

The thing is feets, a lot of people don’t really care if no laws in the US/states were broken, the laws of humanity were broken.

BTW, at what age can little feets be seen in a young unborn child?
They are not very fricken’ happy when they get chopped up and sucked out.

    MD in Philly (f9371b)

  56. well i’m thinking congress needs to investigate Mr. Dr.

    using their congress powers

they can have hearings and find out what people knew and when they knew it

and we can find out what PP’s for real involvement is with fetal tissue research not just about their interactions with a phony lifeydoodle company that’s just trying to tricker them into saying stuff they can use for their guerrilla youtube videos

    happyfeet (a037ad)

  57. I wish it were otherwise, but you’re deluding yourself, Dana.

This administration, the current Democrat party, the media mode of protect and
hide all indications of wrong doing done by any Democrat or Liberal will see
that all these videos and their impact will come to little or nothing. they’ve
already failed to defund PP in the Senate. There has been NO response from the
DOJ except the beginning of an investigation of CMP for how they managed to
setup the interviews and make the videos.

Injunctions have been invoked to stop certain videos from being played and soon
there will be more with wider coverage.

The business of murder of children will go on until it’s made clear to those
who do it that they will be punished with the maximum punishment for any further
    murders.

Only then will the slaughter stop.

    jakee308 (c37f85)

  58. There doesn’t need to be a congressional investigation because organizations like PP are not supposed to be funded by the federal government. Anyone who looks at constitutional limited government can see that for themselves. If a state chooses to fund PP that is their choice. The federal government needs to be out of a lot of things.

Yes, I’ve seen how CNN, and other LHMFM outlets have “covered” the story. Tell viewers what the biased pro-lifers claim their videos show, repeat the PP talking points as if its iron-clad proof the CMP edited or even dubbed or photoshopped the whole thing, using words like “misleading” or “highly edited,” then attack the CMP.

The NYT started the ball rolling with it’s “coverage” of the story. First it told its readers not to watch the videos because they don’t show what the CMP claims they show.

It’s the standard formula. Here’s CNN’s Alisyn Camerota “covering” the story.

    http://www.mediaite.com/tv/cnn-asks-activist-behind-planned-parenthood-videos-if-hes-a-violent-extremist/

In an interview with the Center for Medicial Progress’ David Daleiden, CNN’s New Day host Alisyn Camerota asked the activist behind the undercover Planned Parenthood videos to respond to criticism he was a “violent extremist.”

“Your critics– critics of your organization I should say– say that you’re not journalists as you purport to be on your website, but rather you’re violent extremists,” Camerota said to Daleiden…

Then it’s precious of you to come along and say the media is covering the story, carlitos. As if the rest of us can’t see what they’re doing. The LHMFM is covering, alright. Covering for PP. And attempting to smear the CMP. By cover, carlitos, you mean bury.

  66. It’s an old joke:

At the L.A. zoo a child wanders under the guard rails and falls into the lion pit. The kid starts screaming and crying, which attracts the attention of the lions. They’re not really aggressive just curious, so they approach.

It also attracts a crowd. One man who hears the noise is eating lunch with a couple of guys from his motorcycle club. He comes running up and leaps into the pit, which startles the lions, they roar.

The guy passes the kid up to his buddies, but before they can haul him out one of the lions gets a bit too close. He punches her in the nose, and his friends pull him up without delay.

People crowd around the guy, slapping him on the back, shaking his hand. The grateful mom gives him a big kiss. Then one of the guys from the crowd introduces himself as an L.A.T. reporter.

“That was a really brave thing you did, I’d like to do a story on you,” the reporter says.

“I don’t know, I really didn’t have time to think, I just reacted,” the hero of the moment says.

“Still, tell me about yourself. What brought you here to the zoo today?”

The guy says, “Every Wednesday morning I go riding with a couple of guys from my motorcycle club. Then we stop off somewhere for lunch. Today was dollar day at the zoo, so we figured we’d stop here, have some burgers and refreshments.”

“I see you have a Star of David sewn on your motorcycle jacket,” the reporter notes.

“It’s a Jewish motorcycle club” the guy says, “Anyway, you saw the rest of what happened.”

“Yes I did,” says the reporter. Watch the paper, you’ll see a story about you tomorrow or Friday.”

So the guy tells his friends there’s going to be a story about him in the L.A.T. Sure enough, on Friday the story comes out, front page, with a big headline above the fold that says:

“ISRAELI GANG MEMBER BEATS UP AFRICAN IMMIGRANTS, STEALS THEIR LUNCH!”

That’s about how CNN and the rest of the LHMFM is covering this story.

  67. I am awed by the patience and dedication of the individuals at CMP. They heard some gruesome things – gruesome, horrific things, any of which are a public scandal – and then silently kept up their work for years, trapping clinic after clinic into giving statements about selling babies’ dead bodies, designing abortion procedures to maximise profit, harming women and children to get their nice cars.

And they kept going, knowing that the moment a video was released to the public, every Planned Parenthood physician in the nation would be on high alert for hidden cameras.

And that is also the reason that Planned Parenthood is furious: they can’t go back in time and tell person at Clinic B to STFU because the people at Clinic A just got nabbed on camera.

  68. Compare and contrast:

    http://www.jihadwatch.org/2006/04/dhimmis-at-nbc-try-to-set-up-nascar-for-charges-of-islamophobia

I would say “sorry for the source.” But the AP, NBC, et al have disappeared this down the memory hole.

So, I’m not sorry about the source.

Casting off all pretense of being an objective news organization, and apparently avid to establish its dhimmitude and readiness to accommodate the jihad agenda in the U.S., NBC has sent Muslims to a NASCAR race, hoping to catch incidents of anti-Muslim bias. (Remember, American Muslim advocacy groups use alleged bias incidents to campaign against law enforcement initiatives against the mujahedin.) NASCAR is not taking this lying down — and neither is Michelle Malkin, who has some superbly informative material on the case.

“NASCAR: Dateline NBC’s Plan ‘Outrageous,’” from AP:…

Alisyn Camerota from CNN is in high dudgeon because the CMP dared go undercover to video PP, as if that’s sneaky and underhanded. And their stunned that the CMP appears to be violating a court order and is still releasing tapes, as if the judge is some sort of moral authority and everyone has a duty to obey.

What NBC did here was different. They weren’t just filming NASCAR fans in their natural habitat, as the CMP filmed PP in theirs. The CMP didn’t infiltrate PPGC in Houston and sneak casserole dishes full of baby parts into their fridges. That’s what PPGC does on a daily basis; fill bakeware full of baby parts and store them in the refrigerator.

No, they sent Muslim looking people in Muslim garb among the bitter clingers hoping to provoke a response. They didn’t.

The LHMFM are such obvious hypocrites. Depending on whether the target is conservative or liberal the story is a) what the target of the undercover story did and said on the video captured by LHMFM journalists speaking truth to power or b) the vile, sneaky underhanded harassment campaign by the violent who entrapped the fine good hearted advocate of the disenfranchised doing who were just minidng their own business while doing the lord’s work.

As Ed Morrisey has pointed out, if the NRA had an unbeknown to them CNN undercover crew sign an NDA that read “you can not reveal anything you see or hear at this convention because otherwise people will not like us” they’d never go along with it. They’d fight it.

Yet apparently the National Abortion Federation had the undercover team from the CMP sign an NDA that read roughly that (so claims the NAF). And the judge agrees.

Because the LHMFM are just a progressive propaganda outfit, crickets. If it were CNN fighting the NRA then all the majors like ABC, CBS, NBC, the WaPo, etc., would be filing amicus briefs in outrage at the NRA’s and the court’s assault on the First Amendment.

But the prostitutes are silent in this case because they’ve chosen sides.

  69. Is there a button on this website that will make selective comments (you know who I mean) disappear?

Before the recent site redesign (what was it? About a year ago?) I had a greasemonkey script that worked, but my JavaScript proved not quite up to the task of making it work after the redesign. I should give it another go some time, but really JavaScript is not my strong suit.

You bring up a good point, bridget, that I had not spent a lot of time thinking about. How hard must it have been knowing that as every day passed, more babies were being led to the slaughter. And yet they knew that had to just keep on keeping on if they were going to be effective in securing the statements and footage, etc., necessary to bring them down. That is some serious resolve.

  71. That’s true, Dana. And far away from “making propaganda,” isn’t it?

    What a horrific story.

  72. propaganda is dirty work you get home you need some of that lava soap and a brush to get the filth and grime what got all jammed up under your nails

  75. Dana, I was agreeing with you and bridget. I could not have stayed silent.

  76. I know, Simon jester. I was commenting at 76 about the debate.

  77. I thought so. I just wanted to be clear myself.

  78. If I were the director of one of those clinics that has been “Cleared” and hasn’t been on camera I’d be holding my breath. Ditto the folks who cleared them.

  79. GOP PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE LOSER? FOX NEWS: I was particularly disappointed with the ridiculous “gotcha!” questions posed by Megyn Kelly and Chris Wallace. Can Fox News please focus on the issues and not try to play favorites?
