The Media Just Can’t Help Themselves

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

Promoting a story on Bobby Jindal yesterday, the Washington Post tweeted this:

“There’s not much Indian left in Bobby Jindal.”

The article itself discusses the Americanization of Piyush Bobby Jindal (naming himself after Bobby Brady from the all-white Brady Bunch), his conversion to Christianity, and infers that at a result, his cred as a “conservative of color” is questionable. Because, if “many see him as a man who has spent a lifetime distancing himself from his Indian roots” while chasing the American dream, how can he possibly be viewed as “Indian enough”?

As Allahpundit suggests, the real problem, of course, is: Jindal assimilated. He happily and willfully embraced Americanism and all its glory. It just doesn’t get much worse than this, right?

In yet another bit of race-focus nonsense, a misguided article at The Hill discussed Gov. Nikki Haley’s “shrewdly mapped play” which called for the removal of the Confederate flag, and how that prompted a GOP turnaround on the issue:

And after years of happily whistling political Dixie as part of its mad racial plan for Southern domination, the Republican Party backed away from this in an unprecedentedly humble about face.

It’s packed with tiresome claims which you can read for yourself, but as with most political and cultural issues of the day, there is an obligation to massage and spin so that race takes center-stage:

This was some very smart, very intelligent and very long-term strategic maneuvering on the part of South Carolina’s governor, a move that may have just secured her a new political life and a fresh national stage. She’s still very popular. In terms of image, she’s suddenly transformed herself into Republican Wonder Woman of color, who took a stand against racism even though the GOP hates talking about it.

ADDED: It is certainly no coincidence that the Washington Post published their story questioning Bobby Jindal’s authenticity as a “conservative of color” just one day prior to his announcement that he is a candidate for 2016. As with Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, Marco Rubio, and now Bobby Jindal, the MSM will do all it can to portray the Republican candidates in an unfavorable light.

Doesn’t flying a particular flag –or not– qualify as “free speech”?

BURNING one has long been accepted as such.

As a poke-in-the-eye to the Black-Racial-Grievance-Agitation-Community, I say KEEP whatever flags were up before. Some crazy-dude’s action –demented and vile as it was– is NOT sufficient grounds to vilify and lock away part of our nation’s history.

Just my two-and-a-half cents’ worth.

And, PS, yes I know the topic is “WHO is truly ‘minority enough’ to count” when it comes to Republicans or conservatives.

But I hate-loathe-despise the Propaganda Arm of the Dem-Prog Party, and don’t want to lower myself to argue against the utter nonsense they publish, when I’d have to use the terms and definitions which they’ve already twisted out of all semblance of meaning.

The Fourth Estate can go rot in the same level of Hell that I hope the Beltway RINOs will soon be occupying.

The irony is totally lost on liberals, especially white liberals. What they are really saying is, “Hey you, darkie, you can never truly be one of us.” So they hide that exclusionary bigotry by promoting this progressive notion of, “But hey, that’s cool. You should hold on to your authentic selves and not try to be like us whitebread Americans.” I’ll bet there are progressives in lily-white neighborhoods who find themselves thinking when a minority moves on to their block, “Gosh, wouldn’t they be way happier in a community with more of their own people?” You know, they would of course never try to prevent a minority family from moving into their neighborhood but they just wonder why the Chakrabarti family wouldn’t rather want to live in that charming little part of town with the great Indian restaurants and the Hindu temple instead. And when they find out that Dr. Chakrabarti is no fan of ObamaCare and supports Ted Cruz then they hiss to themselves that the family is just trying to act white.

Remember Duke professor Jerry Hough, who was excoriated for a comment he made on a New York Times article:

I am a professor at Duke University. Every Asian student has a very simple old American first name that symbolizes their desire for integration. Virtually every black has a strange new name that symbolizes their lack of desire for integration.

And so Bobby Jindal, an Asian, did take a very simple old American first name, and assimilated, just as we (supposedly) expect immigrants to do. The problem is that, for the Democrats, immigrants who do assimilate become Republicans, and that’s the last thing that the left want.

Thus we can see the basis for Republican support for Governor Jindal: he is the son of legal immigrants, and he became an American in thought and word, and not just by the technicality of his birth. Conservatives and Republicans support people who are Americans, period, regardless of the color of their skin.

Truth. The irony is especially especially lost on a narrow segment of liberal race theorists, who insist that it is impossible for black Americans to escape the color of their skin while simultaneously nodding along to arguments that Bobby Jindal has escaped the color of his skin.

It was one of the strangest things about the Dolezal story, for me. A bunch of black academics, who likely spent their careers arguing the injustice of a biological skin color determining life’s opportunities, turned around and argued that a woman’s life opportunities should be limited by the fact that she didn’t have a particular biological skin color. A bunch of people who spent their whole lives that the biological color of one’s skin should be irrelevant did an about fact and argued that the biological color of Dolezal’s skin was highly relevant.

It was bizarre.

Somebody needs to explain to the little Liberal darlings that the reason the GOP hates talking about some subjects has a lot to do with the way those subjects are brought up. I mean, when every time somebody says to you “We need to talk” what they mean is “you need to sit there and take it while I get all emotionally abusive on your ass” you get a tad reluctant to have those talks, neh? If they wanted to talk, and weigh demonstrable facts, and follow lines of reasoning, that would be one thing. But “I’ve found another reason to tell you what an evil loser you are” isn’t enticing, somehow.

I’m glad you made this great point, but I have one quibble with it: while it may or may not be a narrow segment of liberal race theorist pushing this school of thought, it matters little when one considers the immense widespread influence and reach they’ve had. We can point to any number of recent events that evidence the taking hold of a large swath of the populace who, without batting an eye, also nod in agreement. Inconsistencies and hypocrisy don’t matter as long as it plays well in the urban areas and with the Democratic vote.

This is just Marx’s concept of “class consciousness” in new tinsel.

“People of color” must be taught that America is a hotbed of white racism, white supremacy, and white privilege.

To assimilate is to betray ~~the proletariat~~ your race. In fact, they have said that to expect non-white immigrants to assimilate is just another facet of racist America’s white supremacist thinking.

So to have a strange new name indicating an aversion to assimilation is to be authentically black. To be authentically “of color” is to oppose the oppressor and the oppressor’s racist system. To be authentically black is to demand that the system fundamentally transform (where have we heard that before?), not to be assimilated by it.

Hillary Clinton just gave one of her most full-of-sh*t speeches ever and that’s saying a lot considering what a human manure factory she is. While speaking to the National Association of Latino Elected Officials in Las Vegas yesterday she predictably called for more gun control but then threw a curve ball by saying that immigrants shouldn’t have to assimilate to American culture.

Hillary started things off by aping Obama’s response that the South Carolina church shooting means we need tough gun control laws. She said the tragedy requires us to face, “hard truths about race, violence, guns and division.”

What that means is anyone’s guess. Hillary likes to speak vaguely while appearing to care about things that she doesn’t care about. Then she made this asinine remark:
