First-Class Seating For Hillary Because She’s Not One Of Those Everyday Americans She Wants To Champion

Filed under: General — Dana @ 6:19 am

[guest post by Dana]

Hillary’s grueling road trip has come to an end. Ditching the Scooby van, the presidential hopeful flew out of Boston’s Logan Airport back to Washington last night :

The Democratic presidential candidate flew from Boston’s Logan Airport to Ronald Reagan National Airport on Tuesday night, sitting in row one of the U.S. Airways’ first-class section.

Just like those everyday Americans she wants to champion.

But don’t judge Hillary, she pulled her own suitcase:

After landing, Mrs. Clinton walked through the airport with a small police escort in addition to her Secret Service detail. She pulled her own luggage and stopped and smiled for a few selfies with supporters who asked. She also complimented a woman’s briefcase. When asked about her flight and schedule, she smiled and said that she didn’t make the arrangements.

It should be noted that earlier in the week, after opting not to ride 20 hours in the Scooby van, Hillary flew coach on a 3 hour flight from Omaha to Newark. “Everyday American”? Well, maybe, but perhaps not by choice:

In contrast with the private jet service Hillary has been accustomed to on her storied and lucrative speaking tours, her ride home was a no-frills commercial flight without a First Class seat to be found anywhere.

For flights from Omaha to Newark, United uses Embraer ERJ-135 and ERJ-145 jets with nothing but narrow economy-class seats.

  2. At least she’s not destroying the planet by flying in a private jet like Al Gore.

Awesome! I’m really excited by the new willingness of conservatives to criticize the elitism of people who fly first class on airlines and have private jets and a lot of money and stuff. And after spending so long complaining about “class warfare,” to boot.

Man, Leviticus! Talk about missing the point. We’re not criticizing her. We’re laughing at her. As a private citizen she can travel however she damn well pleases. But since her whole empty campaign so far and her silly Scooby Van charade was all about creating the optics of standing up for, and listening to, and mingling with “everyday Americans” this shows how insincere and fake that was. So yes, this latest episode in Dana’s post just reinforces the shallowness and self-absorption and tone deafness with which she comes across to most “everyday Americans”. Hillary should not pretend to be something she is not, because she’s not good at it.

  12. Elissa, Hillary! isn’t even good at pretending to be what she is let alone what she isn’t. But at this point what difference does it make?

  14. Here is the backstory.

Hillary Clinton ended her whirlwind New Hampshire campaign swing on Tuesday afternoon in another state entirely, taking taxpayers for an 80 miles-per-hour ride all the way to Boston – to catch a flight with first class seats.

Her Secret Service-provided ‘Scooby’ van motored from Concord to Boston Logan International Airport, escorted by troopers from both New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

She arrived in time to take a 7:00 p.m. US Airways shuttle to Washington, D.C. On the way, her motorcade passed exits to the Manchester, N.H. airport, which was 55 miles closer and offered a 5:16 p.m. flight to the same destination.

First class seating came after campaign trip where she said of rich: ‘The deck is stacked in their favor. My job is to reshuffle the pack.’

The Manchester, NH airport would have been 55 miles closer and had a flight two hours earlier – but it was on smaller plane with only coach seats
Clinton insisted she didn’t personally book the tickets, but stared ahead and said nothing when asked about the Benghazi terror attacks
NASCAR-like trip down I-93 came less than 24 hours after Clinton’s Secret Service detail raced down rain-slicked New Hampshire freeways at 92 mph.

‘The deck is stacked in their favor. My job is to reshuffle the pack.’

That filthy, disgusting, arrogant pig! Her “job” is to shut the hell up and let Americans free to be the best we can be. We really need to get rid of people who think like this. I mean permanently. That attitude has no business in this great country.

Are there no longer any patriotic Democrats out there? Any? From Benghazi being a joke to the likes of this b!tch the entire Democrat party has disintegrated into one huge political cesspool.

  17. I fly business or first whenever I can get it, but I’m not sure I would have driven past Manchester to go all the way to Logan. In the rain? That’s not even hypocritical; it’s just stupid. Southwest might suck, but you get there on time. At Logan, sure, you have a nice lounge to wait out your delay, but it’s still a delay.

To be fair, you won’t catch Chris Christie doing this.

  20. Those Embraer jet flights are pretty comfortable, if you are of normal size. I usually try to snag a seat on the A side, which is only 1 seat, so no one is next to you.

  24. I wish Hillary! nothing but comfort in her travel. If I were her, I’d go business class all the way. I hate flying private, but I bet she likes it. A couple of Southwest flights, though, would quickly go viral and help her cause.

    carlitos (c24ed5)

  27. It wasn’t on Southwest, but I was seated next to a large pantsuit person recently. I did not like it. The leg kind of flows under the armrest into you, which is icky. Also, this person seemed to have a serious need to accomplish things on her phone, like playing “trivia crack,” which involved elbow lifting. If you are already touching me with your leg, please don’t touch me with your elbows. Thx.

Pretty sure they’d never allow it.

    Kevin M (25bbee)

  30. Kevin M – I doubt I would pass the screening required for everday people to interact with her. Isn’t her campaign referring to 99.37% of the American public as “everyday” people a terribly tone-deaf condescending phrase, or is it just me?

    JD (416a58)

  31. No JD, she just like all the talking heads, media, educational and entertainment millionaires of the leftist elite establishment think anyone who actually produces something for a living needs to be condescended to. That includes us too!

    Hoagie (58a3ec)

  32. JD– has any intrepid journalist actually asked her yet who these “everyday people” are, and what that moniker connotes to her, and how she recognizes one when she sees one? I haven’t seen the details of it officially addressed and I’d love to know what her answer to those questions might be.

Leviticus, this strikes me as dishonest of you. And it’s a bit disappointing because whether or not one is a Hillary fan, something as objective as hypocrisy should be called out on all sides. I don’t intend to ignore the hypocrisy of any candidate who wants to be my president.

With that, Hillary is running as a populist, champion of the everyday people, and believes the “economy deserves a toppling of the wealthiest 1%, and yet she rides first-class all while making north of $250k speech and making gobs of money from foreign countries, friendly and not so friendly. You don’t see a disconnect there?

I do not begrudge anyone their wealth if they’ve earned it honestly. More power to them. It’s just a little bit dizzying to see a very wealthy woman who has made her money, in part, dishonestly, lecture us about wealth inequality, the little people and then rides first class – while her protection detail are dismissed to coach.
