Then there was the inaction of the military to preposition assets near N. Africa and have air assets on stand-by for a 9/11 anniversary while jihadists were spreading violence throughout the region. Was it shear incompetence, or the result of Pentagon directives? There were some unexpected resignations of commanders in that theater of operations (N. Africa, the Med and Europe) – were they fired or could their consciences take no more of this politicization of the military from this administration?
