Harrison Ford Hurt in Plane Crash

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 5:15 pm

Despite the fact that the plane crashed into a golf course, Barack Obama was not hurt.

Best wishes to Mr. Ford for a speedy and full recovery.

  2. Now if he had crashed into a bath-house…

  3. DOJ is opening a civil rights case against the golf course because 100% of the people injured in plane crashes on the course are white.

My favorite helicopter flight school story is about the sign over the barracks door that read, “Gravity never sleeps”.

  7. Is there still a price on Han Solo’s head?
I sort of recall the princess puttin the kibosh on Jabba and money. As in separating him from it forever.

    Vaguely.

  8. Jabba had a son, and the Hutts are a clan/crime family to begin with. Jabba was just the head of it.

Now Jabba’s son was kidnapped by Jiro when he was a baby, and rescued by Anakin, but I don’t know that that debt would weigh on him very heavily when it comes to settling his daddy’s old scores and also avenging his death.

  9. And I probably just wrote the sub-plot for episode 8.

Sounds like he’s OK but has some broken bones and gonna have a new scar on his forehead in symmetry with the famous one on his chin. I am so glad that he was not hurt more seriously and that no one on the ground was hurt either. Harrison Ford is just a gorgeous and real man who has aged nicely, seems to be a guy who doesn’t take himself too seriously, and lives a fairly normal life considering his fame. He’s always been kind of representative of my ideal of maleness. And what great classic movie roles he’s given us.

It’s been a star-crossed year for the actor, who suffered a broken leg in a freak accident last June in England while filming “Star Wars: Episode VII.”
Director J.J. Abrams was forced to rearrange production for two weeks over Ford’s on-set injury involving the famed Millennium Falcon.
Ford, who is reprising his role as Han Solo, was seen just weeks later cast-free at another movie premiere.
In February it was announced that he’ll reprise his role as Rick Deckard in the 1982 sci-fi hit “Blade Runner.”

  12. For those that don’t know the area, Penmar is a tiny municipal course almost directly at the foot of the airport. I’m told that the best thing a pilot can do when they lose power on take off is find a place straight ahead to set down. Trying to turn back to the airport is almost always a mistake.

  13. No. I kind of petered out in the 5th season of the 2008-14 one. There’s only so much a man can stand. Besides, I found the 25 original Zatoichi movies on Hulu. There are a couple more movies and tons of TV episodes of those as well, but I bleaked out there too. (Zatoichi Meets Yojimbo, with Toshiro Mifune, is worth watching just to complete your Toshiro Mifune collection.)

  14. apropos of nothing, Bryan Singer is going to adapt ‘A Moon is a Harsh Mistress’, unfortunately they are already changing the title, to uprising, facepalm,

the animated series showed much more depth than the last three films,

  17. meh, Gazzer. nobody’s perfect. 🙂

  18. If you look at the plane he was flying, you gotta admire the man for that alone. ‘Twastn’t exactly Air Force One, because I don’t think anyone on Air Force One has to wear goggles.

  19. True dat, Elissa.

  20. Harrison Ford bends a lot of airplanes. But he can afford them.

  21. Yeah, I saw that. Heinlein’s protagonist marries his first wife’s granddaughter. That would be right up Singer’s alley. Making her the grandson even more so. Bets are that it’s going to suck. Hollywood is not very good with sci-fi, although these days sci-fi has gotten pretty suckish too. All the good writers are dead, burned out, or sold out.

    nk (dbc370)

  22. well it’s a libertarian touchstone, Singer will make out a rebellion against Theocratic terra,

    narciso (ee1f88)

  23. The discussion and distinctions of line, clan, … I forget the rest … kinds of marriage will be entertaining on the set, at least. The rapists being dumped out of the nearest airlock with out a suit, too.

  24. 13. You brought back memories, nk. My late husband got me hooked on Zatoichi.
