Putin Critic Shot Dead

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 7:30 pm

Coincidinks abound:

In a recent interview, Mr Nemtsov had said he feared Mr Putin would have him killed because of his opposition to the war in Ukraine.

Putin has condemned the murder we all believe he ordered. Politifact rates his condemnation as Mostly True.

  1. Politifact would improve its credibility if it rated itself as Mostly False.

  2. Could be sincere. Putin’s condemnation. The way the KGB taught him, you kick down the door at 3:00 a.m., put all the inhabitants in a black van, take them to the basement of Lubyanka, and not only do they cease to exist but every record of them ever having existed ceases to exist.

  3. Is 1989 and food is scarce in Soviet Union. Is comrade butcher selling meat. Comrade customer asks, “Did this meat bark or meow?” Comrade butcher says, “It asked stupid questions”.

  5. Is Comrade Medvedev meet Comrade Colonel Putin. Comrade Medvedev ask, “Vladimir Vladimirovich, why you wear black suit and tie”. Comrade Colonel Putin say, “I go to funeral”. “Oh”, say Comrade Medvedev, “who is dead?” Comrade Colonel Putin say, “I haven’t decided yet”.

  6. Is anyone surprised? That reset button worked perfectly for Putin. It allowed his inner tyrant to come free. Obama is taking notes.

And now we know why Obama told Putin that after the election he’d be allowed to act more freely.

    njrob (c94106)

  7. There’s more than that. Putin is genuinely popular in Russia, after its deprivations under the Communists, and the humiliations Gorbachev and Yeltsin allowed the West to inflict on it. He brought back national pride which is very important to Russians.

    nk (dbc370)

  8. Putin’s condemnation is sincere – he’s very unhappy that it didn’t look like a suicide.

  11. Vlad got the message!! RESET, CACKLE CACKLE CACKLE. NO defensive missiles for POLAND. “Please tell Vlad, that I’ll be MORE FLEXIBLE after the ELECTION”.
Obama is the COMPLETE FUX UP. And Vlad “gets it”.
Meanwhile Obama tells the WORLD, that the U.S. ……..TORTURED. Obama lives in fantasy land. Putin isn’t “playing”.

  14. This guy was protesting the way Putin is. He knew he’s a murderer.

He said he was in fear for his life. Did he think he was bullet proof?

Was he betrayed and left defenseless long enough to be attacked?

But then we all knew Putin is a thug and will remain a thug.

Russia for some reason loves to be ruled by thugs. It can’t handle

democracy or republicanism or even just plain ol’ civilized behavior.

They have a mental disease that leaves them unable to resist thugs.

and lately I’m beginning to believe that America has caught this disease also.

Note how leftists always resort to force and murder when people reject their ideas. mr.gop is just following his nature. The funny thing is Perry’s narrative is so full of hate, contempt and vulgarity he can’t even hide his identity for one lousy sentence.

  22. Random shooting you guys.

    Yujin (284134)

  23. Not random at all, Yujin. One of my observations in life is that when a person looses his faith he also looses his humanity. Which is why so many atrocities are committed by communists or Nazis and why in the future if these “environmentalists” who prefer a perfect planet over an improved planet will Too commit atrocities in the name of their “science” which has replaced God. Perry’s lamentation stating that Obama should start killing off his enemies is just our latest example of a godless soul promoting the philosophy which has replaced his God and his humanity.

  27. http://www.loc.gov/law/help/firearms-control/russia.php

Russian civilians can’t own handguns or rifles. They’re restricted to using smooth bore musket style long guns with a barrel length not less than 20 inches, and overall length not less than 32 inches.

It’s laughable the way these describe these as “personal defense” weapons.

Reading through the whole of their gun laws it’s a wonder the Nazis didn’t run them over entirely.

Russians must be awesome rock chuckers.

    papertiger (c2d6da)

  28. I heard about Wodrow Wilson sending an expeditionary force from the Pacific side of Russia that marched almost to Moscow. Always wondered how that could have happened.

These gun laws of theirs explain how.

    papertiger (c2d6da)

  29. How can we have national pride when the government has evolved into the greatest threat to the Freedom of its people? What’s to be proud about? A million abortions a year? Net-neutrality? Obamacare? 48 million on food stamps? A foreign policy designed by a 10 year old hurting our allies and strengthening our enemies? An environmental policy designed to harm our standard of living? A tax structure so confusing and convoluted even the IRS can’t decipher it? Should I go on?

I’m not a perfectionist and I don’t expect America to ever be perfect. But I do expect it to be BEST! The leftist policies running through our schools, media and government like bad blood has corrupted the ability for America to be Best. Some how it’s become evil to be Best an be proud of it. American Exceptionalism and “the shining city on a hill” have been replaced with rap music and gay pride (as nk noted). Hell, Obama doesn’t even put his hand over his heart for the National Anthem. Is HE proud? Is HE exceptional? He does his best to compromise America by using race, gender, wealth, political ideology and religion to tear us apart.

    Hoagie (58a3ec)

  30. All told in Russia in 2012, 7,500 crimes were committed with the use of firearms. These were illegal firearms.

  38. I’m not a perfectionist and I don’t expect America to ever be perfect. But I do expect it to be BEST!

What’s disturbing is practically every other nation out there is about as bad as, or actually much worse than, the US. (Although that’s like saying “I’m in good health compared with my fellow residents at the nursing home!!”)

The lunacy of feel-good “progressive” thinking has given much of Europe a severe case of Eurosclerosis (and political correctness up the wazoo), evident in most of Central and South America, with just about every segment of Africa being a never-ending disaster zone, with the Middle East being, well, the Middle East, and huge cross sections of the Pacific-Asian basin exhibiting facets of all these traits on a regular basis (eg, from Vietnam to the totalitarian “capitalism” of the PRC, with Japan’s “right” leaning government favoring increases in sales taxes and Keynesian economics to the max).

Liberalism is a human condition and human flaw, from one end of the globe to the other.

In the brief time that the AEF-Russia was in place (Aug-1918 – Apr-1020), I doubt if they made it any further West than Irkutsk – which is a long way from Moscow.
However, it was the first overseas deployment of the Browning M-1918 BAR.
There was also a force sent to Archangel (Polar Bear Expedition – 9/18-7/19) north of Moscow on the White Sea.
