All Lives *Should* Matter

(Trigger warning: lifeydoodle post)

Last week, Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke sent a tweet to Mitch Smith, a journalist in the Chicago bureau of The New York Times, which read:

“If only these faux protesters were asked by media about all the black on black killing or black babies aborted in US every year.“

Later, when asked about the tweet, Clarke explained:

“When I hear these things that Black lives matter, the only people who really believe that statement are American police officers who go into American ghettos every day to keep people from killing each other. Alright, so, yes I did say that and I meant it. Look, the abortions? If Black lives – if they really mattered, that’s where the outrage would be that’s where we’d see protests…”

According to Life News, the black community is impacted more greatly than other minorities when it comes to abortion:

36.2% of the total number of abortions recorded for race or ethnicity were reported on Black women.

Mississippi, which currently has only one abortion clinic in the state, had the highest number of abortions reported on Black women coming in at 63.4%.

Alabama, reported that 58.7% of their abortions were on Blacks while in Georgia they reported 52.1% abortions on Black.

Tennessee performed 49.9% of their abortions on Black women and Virginia performed 43.9% on Black women, while Michigan’s Black abortion percentage was 47.9%.

New York City alone performed 46.1% of their abortions on Black women and 41.1% of Black abortions was reported in Missouri.

With that, Planned Parenthood just released its yearly numbers:

Planned Parenthood clinics did 327,653 abortions in its fiscal year 2014 (which ran from July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014), according to Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s newly released annual report.

That works out to an average of 37 abortions per hour or nearly 1 every 90 seconds.

2014 number of abortions exceed the previous year’s number by 487.

Also, according to the report, as the increase in abortions took place, a simultaneous decrease in contraception also occurred: 3,577,348 patients in fiscal 2014 compared to 3,724,558 in fiscal 2013.

All lives should matter. Sadly, not all do.

  1. Hello.

  2. They don’t consider the unborn as living and they don’t see pregnant women as any different than a regular woman.

  3. This is a very good point, I think.

Over 300,000. My God. That is a staggering number of killings.

  4. i think mostly these black ladies are probably very sensitive to the difficulties attendant to bringing a child into the world what won’t have a dad around

and hugs and cocoa ain’t gonna turn that tugboat around for the american way

Then they need to close their legs or use contraception.

History is going to judge us badly on theis genocide.

  6. The president of Smith College apologized emailing students that “all lives matter.”

Kathleen McCartney included the deeply offensive statement on the subject line of an e-mail to students as she was attempted to pander support for the protesters in Ferguson Missouri and New York City.

Protesters had adopted the idiot slogan Black Lives Matter as their own, and McCartney’s more inclusive version was immediately taken as an insult to Blacks and to protesters that diluted the focus on blacks and police racism.

Although McCarthy intended to support the protesters and to condemn the grand jury decisions as provocations which “led to a shared fury…” she failed to maintain the fiction that some lives matter more than others. And for that oversight she was denounced and excoriated.

  7. I saw a CNN interview of said Sheriff where he was asked about the tweet and doubled down on it.
It was good to see someone double down on the right thing for change.
And when last checked he was a Democrat.

Feets, about that bringing children into the world without a dad stuff,
it is good for human beings, if they want to act like human beings, to get down this cause and effect concept before they are of childbearing age.
Once they have that down, it is just a little jump to realize there are ways to avoid that situation other than using abortion as your preferred choice of “birth control”.
    That is all.

Not even all of the tens of thousands of lives of all the black men murdered in this country matter.

Just the few killed by white cops. And by honorary whites if the shooter isn’t actually white. And by honorary cops if the shooter isn’t actually a cop.

  9. Mr. 57 the number of lives that matter will rise in proportion to the increased availability of trained and licensed therapy dogs. This is a BASIC tenet of social justice. Please review chapter one.

  10. The lives of those murdered in Benghazi didn’t seem to matter all that much, not to Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Eric Holder. Ditto for the Border Agent murdered by guns Eric Holder’s Justice Department sold to Mexican drug dealers.

I don’t think that is true at all. Evidence ? Both of these links are to the websites of conservative blacks. The second link goes to a site that copied the article.

A website called “Black and Right” which has dropped the article but here it is.

    Clearly a very selective sensitivity.

With that, your assessment leads one to believe the abortions are selfless acts, rather than selfish acts. Nice twist there. Who’s the victim now… playing in select neighborhoods everywhere.

  20. Shouldn’t Planned Parenthood be held to proportional outcomes?

    ras (2067f2)

  21. A few years back, James O’Keefe thought he was trolling Planned Parenthood. He called in and said he wanted to make a donation but it had to be earmarked only for abortions performed on black babies. The woman on the phone said, “Certainly, sir, we can do that”. She probably sincerely thought that O’Keefe was trying to be kind to black women. Not that he was a racist who wanted fewer black people. (Although that was the original intent of Margaret Sanger.) Amazing.

  23. If the year over year death toll does not increase for Planned Parenthood does that mean its employees do not get their baby killing bonuses? This could be a sad holiday season for those people. Where is your empathy?

  24. Nobody has made a demonstration or organized protests about this – and something can
still be done – an appeal.

Someone has been allowed to get away with murder (unless you can claim it was manslaughter)

Santos was 16 when he walked into Jose Martinez’s restaurant in Washington Heights, which was locally famous for its tasty carne frita.

Santos and two other friends were tossed after they harassed Martinez and his wife, Idalia, on Nov. 22, 1986.

Witnesses told cops Santos pulled out a pistol and blasted Jose in front of his wife. Santos said he fired because Jose choked him.

Santos then hightailed it to the Dominican Republic. Even though he was never indicted in New York for the murder, he confessed to the crime in a Dominican court and served one year behind bars under a local law that allowed him to be charged for killing a native from that country.

Santos moved back to the U.S., became a citizen in 2007, and got a job at a police station — all requiring background checks that went unnoticed by New York authorities because no warrant was ever issued for his arrest.

When NYPD cops tracked him down last year, using information provided by Joselyn, he confessed again and was hauled back to New York.

The court ruled that trying him now would violate the speedy trial rule, as they could have tried to extradite him from the Dominican Republic, or found him later when he came to the United States. (except for the fact it was a dormant, cold case)

I don’t think this is the general rule. Even if the murderer flees the jurisdiction only after he is charged.

  25. You could add maybe this to the Eric Garner and Ronald Singleton cases, except that person in question is not yet dead, and there’s only a lawsuit. It was an error of judgemenmt and possible ☺violation of police regulations. And tgeh mother of the victim is a NYPD Seargeant.

    http://nypost.com/2015/01/01/family-of-teen-put-in-coma-by-police-chase-will-sue-city/

The family of a teen who has been in a coma since her mom’s car was hit by a van being chased by cops is planning to sue the city and six officers for $70 million, according to court papers revealed Wednesday.

Natalie Ferber, 19, was in the front passenger seat of the car driven by her mom, off-duty NYPD Sgt. Nancy Lawrence, on Nov. 18 when a “dollar van” suspected of being the getaway vehicle in a
string of hold-ups rammed them in Marine Park, Brooklyn, while trying to elude cops.

The notice of claim charges that the cops from the 70th Precinct — where coincidentally, Lawrence works — were flying along at 80 mph.

Ferber, a student at Ithaca College, suffered severe brain injuries and “will probably be disabled for the rest of her life,” the claim says.

(It’s against police department regulations to do a high speed car chase within city limits. Of course, here is the argument there was danger to life from the fleeing felons.)

  26. it’s so hard to judge these women without walking a mile in their shoes

you just have to have faith in people and just try to believe in your heart that at least most if not all these women are trying to make the best choices

    trying really hard

in a hard world that’s just getting harder all the time

did you see what failifornia’s doing to the price of eggs?

god bless america land that i love

    what a mess

    happyfeet (831175)

  27. I do have faith in people, happyfeet, but the Gutmacher Institute reports that half of all abortions occur with women who aren’t using contraception. Half of all abortions are also repeat abortions, meaning the woman has already had one abortion. That sounds like a lifestyle choice for many women.

    DRJ (a83b8b)

  28. i’m definitely pro-contraception i don’t understand why people don’t use it more better

i don’t feel comfortable telling black ladies to use more contraception though

I’m comfortable if other people want to though

i’m more comfortable telling black guys to try more better to be good fathers

hey, black guy, I hope you’re trying to be a good dad I say

I say this ALL the time on the train

    happyfeet (831175)

  29. for serious though I think it’s great that we keep record of this sort of thing so we have baselines by which we can evaluate new policies

    happyfeet (831175)

  30. A white family from a local church adopted two black children (brother and sister) and were subjected to a heap of flaming poo by the black nationalists back in Chicago where the children were born.
The local family was made to promise they’d raise the children “black” and that meant teaching the children the horrors of slavery, racism, lynchings etc; the dubious claim to the invention of algebra and the storied lives of black revolutionaries. They brought home a notebook full of pamphlets written by crazy people.

I’ve heard it is easier for a white family to adopt a Haitian child than it is to adopt and African American baby which seems sad and dumb

    steveg (794291)

  31. But, but, but, if black women are aborting their children at a significantly greater rate than white women, shouldn’t us raaaaacist TEA Partiers support abortion rights, to reduce the black population?

Why, it’s almost like the liberal talking points aren’t true.
