  4. Be nice. Jay Semko is from the wonderful band The Northern Pikes and he is also working on a little thing I am going to surprise y’all with. And he has a luxurious, Santa-like beard! (Just less gray but equally festive!) Treat him as you would treat the friend of a friend.

  5. If you’ve never heard Vince Vance and the Valiants’ “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” trust me, it’s worth three minutes and 42 seconds of your life. Pay no attention to the horrid video; just close your eyes and listen to something really special. Lisa Layne (not the woman doing the lip-syncing, BTW) just absolutely nails it, IMHO. Even better: Grab someone you love, turn the lights down low, and dance.
