Democrats And Their White Privilege Racism

Filed under: General — Dana @ 5:50 pm

[guest post by Dana]

I heard this on the news today at work and all I could think was, oh what royal hypocrites these people are. Democrats have continuously accused conservatives as being racist if they dare criticize the president. To them, there can’t possibly be any other reason for saying anything negative about him – even if the criticisms succinctly demonstrate how his destructive policies and disregard for the Constitution hurts Americans. It doesn’t matter, because it can’t. There is the company line to adhere to: Conservative Racist. Is there any other kind?

But this week, to the dismay of Democrats, we discover that their own ranks are filled with racists, too – liberal white privileged racists. The worst kind! When Sony Pictures was hacked last week, private emails became public. Prior to a 2013 fundraiser, Sony Pictures Entertainment Co-Chairman Amy Pascal (D) and film producer Scott Rudin (D) joked in an email exchange about the type of movie the president might like:

“Would he like to finance some movies,” Rudin wrote. Pascal wrote b, “I doubt it. Should I ask him if he liked DJANGO?” Rudin responded with “12 YEARS,” to which Pascal responded by naming other films starring African-Americans: “Or the butler. Or think like a man? [sic].”

Pascal, it should be noted, donated $5,000 to Obama’s re-election campaign and $30,800 to the DNC.

Today, both Pascal and Rudin made public apologies for their comments.

From Rudin:

“Private emails between friends and colleagues written in haste and without much thought or sensitivity, even when the content of them is meant to be in jest, can result in offense where none was intended,” Rudin told Deadline. “I made a series of remarks that were meant only to be funny, but in the cold light of day, they are in fact thoughtless and insensitive — and not funny at all. To anybody I’ve offended, I’m profoundly and deeply sorry, and I regret and apologize for any injury they might have caused.”

From Pascal:

“The content of my emails to Scott were insensitive and inappropriate but are not an accurate reflection of who I am,” she said. “Although this was a private communication that was stolen, I accept full responsibility for what I wrote and apologize to everyone who was offended.”

Unsurprisingly, sexist Al Sharpton, smelling an opportunity to be front and center, got right up on his own sanctimonious soapbox and singled out Pascal because her apology wasn’t enough:

“These emails nominate Amy Pascal to be considered by some of us in the same light” as former Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling, Sharpton said in a statement.

Sharpton called on Pascal to immediately meet with black leaders, and said Sony must take steps “to respect the African American community and reflect that respect in their hiring and business practices.”

Pascal should tell Sharpton to bugger off, however, she will meekly acquiesce and meet with whomever the reverend deems necessary for her rehabilitation. All the while, she will be denouncing her white privilege and cough up thousands of dollars more to donate to some diversity project somewhere to atone for her sin. Ironically, Rudin, meanwhile, will be just fine basking in his continued white male privilege. And money.

  1. Hello.

  2. I denounce you, Dana, for not denouncing yourself !

(Make checks payable to : )

  3. Al Sharpton isn’t a sexist.

He sided with his aide who was raped, Bill Cosby style, by the person who had been his main go-t0 lawyer, Sanford Rubinstein.

That may be in part because his other female assistants were siding with her.

    Sammy Finkelman (8bd44f)

  4. What do power, racism, sexism and privilege add up to? Democrats!

    Dana (8e74ce)

  5. I was unable to find anywhere that Sharpton publicly called out Rudin, Sammy. But he did call out the female involved. Both made their apologies today. What would you call that?

  6. http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2014/10/05/wcbs-880-police-investigating-sexual-assault-allegation-against-lawyer-sanford-rubenstein/

The 70-year-old attorney is accused of raping a woman in his Upper East Side home hours after attending Wednesday night’s 60th birthday party for the Rev. Al Sharpton, according to multiple published reports.

The alleged victim is 42 years old and a “top official” at Sharpton’s National Action Network, sources told the New York Daily News.

The Eric Garner family even had to replace him as their lawyer.

    Sammy Finkelman (8bd44f)

  7. I;’m not talking about Rudin.

I’m talking about the way he jettisoned his big lawyer.

Of course this was because he had to decide who was more important to him, or what would more impact the functioning of his organization.

That may not mean he actually Rubinstein to be prosecuted. But he can’t use him now. And maybe it was also the fact he picked on the wrong person.

    http://nypost.com/2014/10/10/sharpton-backs-rape-accuser-against-lawyer-pal-rubenstein/

Rubinstein’s now claiming she took the drugs after she left him. Or maybe that’s just talking about amarijuana test result.

Rubinstein and Bill Cosby probably used the same thing.

    Sammy Finkelman (8bd44f)

  8. Sharpton may be playing both sides in the rape case, because he isn’t making this a cause, although his aides are:

    http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2014/10/22/letter-demands-arrest-of-prominent-lawyer-sanford-rubenstein/

Rubenstein has worked closely with the National Action Network, representing prominent clients like the family of Eric Garner, the Staten Island man who died in police custody.

Sharpton said the woman who filed the complaint is a top official within NAN and that the accusations put him in a difficult position, given his relationship with both parties.

“Sandy and I have become friends, but the young lady who made the accusation is a top official,” Sharpton said earlier this month. “Sandy has no official capacity with NAN. She does and I respect her and she’s been very helpful to us, so we’re like between this situation.”

    Sammy Finkelman (8bd44f)

  9. but the young lady who made the accusation is a top official,

Check the playbook. You’re only supposed to rape the minions. Sheesh!

  10. More about Sharpton:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/19/nyregion/questions-about-al-sharptons-finances-accompany-his-rise-in-influence.html

Indeed, Mr. Sharpton’s influence and visibility have reached new heights this year, fueled by his close relationships with the mayor and the president.

Obscured in his ascent, however, has been his troubling financial past, which continues to shadow his present.

Mr. Sharpton has regularly sidestepped the sorts of obligations most people see as inevitable, like taxes, rent and other bills. Records reviewed by The New York Times show more than $4.5 million in current state and federal tax liens against him and his for-profit businesses.

And though he said in recent interviews that he was paying both down, his balance with the state, at least, has actually grown in recent years. His National Action Network appears to have been sustained for years by not paying federal payroll taxes on its employees.

With the tax liability outstanding, Mr. Sharpton traveled first class and collected a sizable salary, the kind of practice by nonprofit groups that the United States Treasury’s inspector general for tax administration recently characterized as “abusive,” or “potentially criminal” if the failure to turn over or collect taxes is willful.

Mr. Sharpton and the National Action Network have repeatedly failed to pay travel agencies, hotels and landlords. He has leaned on the generosity of friends and sometimes even the organization, intermingling its finances with his own to cover his daughters’ private school tuition….He was among a small group at the White House when Mr. Obama announced his nomination of Loretta E. Lynch, the United States attorney for the Eastern District of New York, to become the next attorney general.

  11. It’s just hilarious on the same scale as the collapse of the UVA rape story. God, these people are nauseating !

    Mike K (90dfdc)

  12. Leave it to Sammah to miss the point.

    JD (b0e003)

  13. Sammy, my point was that Sharpton seems to have singled out Pasqual, a woman, for public condemnation, but didn’t do so with Rubin, a man. Hence, sexist.

    Dana (8e74ce)

  14. Eh, Rudin.

  16. 13. He singled out the higher ranking person at SONY. She could do things for him to make up for it. What could Rudin do? Does he control a company?

    Sammy Finkelman (8bd44f)

  17. they are also exceedingly stupid, remember though, they were the ones who greenlighted White House Down, an embarassing hagiographic portrayal of how they see Obama, although frighteningly accurate when it comes to security,

    narciso (ee1f88)

  18. SONY is very quietly releasing the picture about the assassination plot against North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un – the only Kim Jong Un in North Korea – he saw to that. There are many Kim Jong Un’s (spelled a little bot differently) in South Korea.

SONY discovered that he was not the same kind of villain as Lex Luthor, the Joker, Khan, Attila the Hun, or even Saddam Hussein, but was very much alive and breathing.

    Sammy Finkelman (8bd44f)

  19. I don’t know whether to denounce myself before I say something or just not say it.
I’m not sure whether they were serious or (more likely) being a little tongue-in-cheek with each other.
Certainly inappropriate humor for public display, but on the basis of this do I think they would not hire a black for a part, or not make business deals, or not go out to dinner and invite over to one’s house? No.

Now, if the point is that these folks would go ballistic over a conservative being documented to say such things, that I guess I expect is true.

  20. O M G

    JD (b0e003)

  21. To follow up, do people see such a discussion as evidence of a malicious attitude toward blacks, or simply tongue-in-cheek playing with a stereotype, as they might do with an Asian and martial arts movies or a Brit and murder mysteries.

    MD in Philly (f9371b)

  22. 19. They were just mocking what kinds of movies Obama would like – for no good reason.

It’s not like he’s been noted for favoring or praising movies with a black-related theme or black actors.

It started off with the assumption that he would not be interested in becoming a producer.

    Sammy Finkelman (8bd44f)

  23. Democrats would never, ever give Republicans the same benefit of the doubt. The double standard is, just that.

    Dana (8e74ce)

  24. 21. Of course it wss just playing with a stereotype. Now that was something totally uncalled for, but it is only personal versus Obama, and it’s a big nothing.

    Sammy Finkelman (8bd44f)

  25. So that’s the point, Dana, that we can look at this and say so what, but if a conservative did it we know they would go ballistic?

    MD in Philly (f9371b)

  26. MD – my interest only extends to the rank and utter hypocrisy of the leftists involved, and the predictable lack of response from the MFM.

Just imagine if an obscure staffer said this in a text message ….

  27. I denounce moving pictures as personal, petit-bourgeoise and self-indulgent. Parasitic, reactionary and counter-revolutionary too.

  28. Sammy, if I said something about you and said it was obviously true because “Sammy’s a New Yorker”, would that be totally uncalled for, or simply playing on a “us” and “them” ploy of those from the big city and those who aren’t?
(There is another possibility, which I will leave to nk, JD or daley).

  42. Mor from that November 19/20 New York Times article about Al Sharpton:

…..In 1998, Mr. Sharpton lost a defamation suit brought by Mr. Pagones and was ordered to pay a judgment of $65,000. He said he did not have enough money to pay all at once, and after years of a slow trickle of money from wage garnishments, Mr. Sharpton was forced to testify under oath about his finances.

He said he had no assets, save for a watch and a ring. Everything else, including some of his suits, was owned by a for-profit business, Revals Communications, he said. He testified that he put nearly all of his $73,000 in take-home pay from the National Action Network into Revals, which in turn paid many of his expenses, including his daughters’ private school tuition and some of the rent on his house. Even though state law prohibits nonprofits from making loans to officers, Mr. Sharpton said National Action Network had also once lent him money to cover his daughters’ tuition.

During the deposition, Mr. Sharpton coyly suggested he was not really sure who owned the Brooklyn house where he lived with his wife and two daughters. “Well, I haven’t checked the deed,” he said.

In fact, Mr. Sharpton knew his landlord, Bishop E. Bernard Jordan, quite well. Mr. Sharpton had performed the wedding ceremony of Mr. Jordan’s daughter at Zoe Ministries, the Upper West Side church where Mr. Jordan is the pastor. Mr. Jordan, who makes millions of dollars a year offering prophecies about his followers, and his wife, Debra, had been among only three couples to give the maximum allowable amount to Mr. Sharpton’s 1997 mayoral campaign, records show.

It also appears from property records that Mr. Sharpton got a deal on the six-bedroom house, which he said at the time he wanted in order to dispel questions of his residency in the city before starting his mayoral campaign. He testified that he paid $1,500 a month. He moved there from a two-bedroom apartment in Englewood, N.J., where years earlier he had been paying the same amount, according to court records.

It is somewhat funny, but it is not satire, but it pretends to be.

It’s even less bad than I thought.

What happened was that they were somehow being compelled to attend a Jeffrey Kathenberg fuindraiser for Obama. So Amy says what shall I ask Obama? Maybe iif he would be willing to finance a movie? The answer comes, no..

Then she says, maybe ask him if liked Django (a sort of “apprpriate” movie for him. Then otehr movies get suggested. Without any basis, though.

Why didn’t tehy think of “White Men Can’t Jump?”

That’s about basketball, and he genuinely likes basketball – even married into the family of a basketball coach. (Obama stopped playing basketball after he got injured slightly a year or two ago or so. He dedided he’s getting to old. So he switched to golf, which he now plays every Saturday at a military base near Washington when he’s in town.

    Sammy Finkelman (8bd44f)

  44. something very similar to the Garner case took place in the West Bank with a PA official (who had once committed acts of terror.murder) dying.

He had a heart attack brought on by stress some time after an arm was around his neck.

They refused help from Israeli medic and insisted on taking care of him themselves.

    Sammy Finkelman (d22d64)

  45. Sharpton’s remarks can be easily translated to “Write me a BIG check you racist”. I’m just surprised that Sharpton beat Jesse Jackson to the punch. Anyway, Pascal could be in trouble and Sony could toss her over the side as a sacrifice. Rudin is an extremely successful producer so he’s safe. The Hollywood hypocrites respect money over all else.

    scr_north (b418f7)

  46. All the backers of Jesse Jackson have been trying to switch for some time to Al Sharpton.
