Celebrities Read Mean Tweets

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 12:26 pm

As everyone knows, celebrities have to put up with a lot. Not only do they sometimes get SWATted, but they also are often the recipient of mean tweets. Here are some celebrities reading mean tweets to them:

Wow. Talk about feeding the trolls. These trolls have been fed enough to make Michael Moore reject dessert.

  1. jessica alba is a big fascist obamawhore I wouldn’t waste a tweet on her even

she’s cute though I remember her in “dark angel” when she was experimenting with that whole “character development” thing what the real actors do

    it was cute

  2. Jessica Alba is the sexy young starlet who was smart enough to recognize her lack of acting chops and just go ahead and marry some trust-fund dude who stands to inherit a zillion bucks and start making the babies with him. She’s sort of this generation’s Grace Kelly (stand by for everyone starting to defend Grace Kelly’s acting ability).

  3. The one about Alba was spot-on, although I would’ve chosen an earlier year.

  5. JVW,

Grace Kelly was pretty good in the Hitchcock films, but I agree she leaned on her looks and her aura than on any great acting ability. And her performances in Hitch’s films can probably be attributed to Hitch and Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart. (She would have also been cast in ‘Vertigo’ had she not run off to play Princess in Europe.)

She married a total loser—a wealthy loser—but still a loser, nonetheless.

  6. JVW,

Mark Steyn wrote a scathing obituary of Grace Kelly’s Prince. I don’t know if its available on the internet, but it does appear in Steyn’s book, “Passing Parade,” which is an assembly of some of Steyn’s best obits that he wrote for The Atlantic back in the day.

I think Hitchcock liked using Kelly in his films due to her lack of acting range. In his eyes, she was the prototypical “icy blonde.”

LOL, who needs tweets when you have Laurence Olivier?

After they starred together in a film early in her career, she said, after the film was done, that she never wanted to act in a film with him ever again.

His reply was something like, “My dear, you never have.”

I think that’s a bit harsh but it may have been true back then. I do think, like getting turned into a newt, “she got better”.
