Clint Eastwood Latest SWATting Victim
It’s unclear if he was home, so this could just be an attempt.
The phenomenon shows no signs of slowing, does it?
UPDATE: And . . . the Playboy Mansion may have been SWATted as well.
On Thursday about 6:15 a.m., police were sent to the Playboy Mansion in Holmby Hills in response to a call falsely reporting an assault at the location, and are investigating the case as another possible “swatting” hoax, LAPD spokesman Officer Cleon Joseph said. There was no evidence that a crime had occurred there, police said.
OK, law enforcement. Time to get moving on this stuff.
I wonder what their response time was out to the Playboy mansion.
Pious Agnostic (20c167) — 2/22/2013 @ 5:43 pmHmm.. I wonder if any crimes are being planned in advance and commited during these swatting diversions..
tbflowers (11c057) — 2/22/2013 @ 5:53 pmTargeting celebrities has to get law enforcement’s attention. Celebrities are too important to LA’s livelihood.

happyfeet (4bf7c2) — 2/22/2013 @ 6:17 pmYeah, Playboy Bunnies getting shot, that’s all we need.
Perhaps we should make sure cops responding to these things are unarmed. Then the chance of accidental shooting would be vastly lowered.
Esp. when LAPD is involved.
Smock Puppet, 10th Dan Snark Master and Burlesque Entertainer (98ae1f) — 2/22/2013 @ 7:20 pmMaybe the cops should stop automatically deploying the swat teams for every single call. Especially with those “No More Hesitation” targets law enforcement are using.

AZ Bob (c11d35) — 2/22/2013 @ 8:38 pmI came here to say this same thing. The failure to resolve these crimes has also taught the wrong lesson.
Dustin (73fead) — 2/22/2013 @ 10:49 pmThey (the police) won’t get serious about this until somebody famous gets dead (Oops, it will be the cops that kill him/her – but it will all be done according to procedure).
askeptic (2bb434) — 2/22/2013 @ 11:14 pmI’m very disappointed to have seen those targets.
If you catch yourself practicing to kill people who look like that, you need to do some serious thinking about whether you’re the bad guy, cause those targets look a lot like the good guys.

Not even then. But when there’s a real 911 call from a celebrity home and the cops treat it as a hoax and get shot by the crazed celebrity, THEN you’ll see action!

I don’t know, but I hear tell they broke the sound barrier.
C. S. P. Schofield (adb9dd) — 2/23/2013 @ 10:00 amOne can’t help but believe that if LE believed even for just a nanosecond that tea partiers were behind it they’d have been all over this from jump.
G Joubert (b2bf9b) — 2/23/2013 @ 10:03 amClint Eastwood spoke at the RNC so it doesn’t matter that he’s Hollywood.
Somebody on the left will need to get hurt before something’s done about it…
So until then…just hope and pray that nobody gets killed by the nutso people who do this stuff.
PolitixFireball (cfd2a8) — 2/23/2013 @ 8:16 pmWhat i noticed was the news included the fact that the police found no weapons in the house. Since when is an anonymous phone call probable cause to search a home? Why did the news outlet feel it was needed to report that there is no arms in the home? The next invasion of his privacy now that it is know he has no defense could be by people with no warrant or badges.
