First, some developments since last night. Gennette Cordova has already verified parts of last night’s document dump. To take one example (there are others), she confirmed that these DMs were written by her:

Her claim is that she was participating in a type of surveillance of Nikki on behalf of Weiner:

And yes, I did. It was a week and a half in, I knew why this person was engaging me but they hadn’t brought him up yet.
So I got the ball rolling.
Now, I’ve given that information to someone else already so it’s not exclusive but there you go:)

In other words, she says she told Nikki these things, but had not really said those things to Weiner.

I express no opinion on the truth of that claim, just as I express no opinion on the authenticity of JohnReid9 or his documents. I will speak of “Reid” and “Nikki” in this post as if they are real people because it is easier to tell the story that way, but that does not mean I am giving an opinion. As I have said, whether JohnReid9 is a concerned father or an Internet hoaxster is for the reader to decide. You are already aware that he has provided fake IDs to Tommy Christopher and that the Nikki Reid and Marianela Alicea accounts had fake pictures attached to them. But you also know that Gennette Cordova has authenticated aspects of the material he has sent out. And he may offer his story yet. So stay tuned.

What you are about to see is text cut and pasted from DMs forwarded to me by Reid. I took some screenshots of some of the more interesting ones and will be including them at the end. Because these are e-mail notifications of DMs from other people, you are getting only one side of the conversation. In some cases the nature of the other side will be clear; in other cases it will not.

I tried to place them in chronological order and edit out Ethel’s name. Otherwise, you’re seeing what I received.

I am asking Gennette Cordova by e-mail to confirm or deny the authenticity of the DMs purporting to be from her. [UPDATE 12:26 a.m.: In a comment, she has largely confirmed the communications that came from her, and has failed to object to any as inauthentic.]

Whether JohnReid9 is Concerned Father or Internet Prankster, this is news. And it’s breaking here.

That admission Gennette Cordova made this morning on my blog put another nail in the coffin of Tommy Christopher’s confident assertions about the Weiner scandal.

Did you catch that?

I’ll do the short version for those following the story closely, and then a longer version for those who are a little lost.

THE SHORT VERSION, FOR THE INITIATED: Marianela told Stack she had DMs from Weiner to Nikki, and DMs from Gennette talking about flirting with Weiner. Tommy Christopher assured us, in no uncertain terms, that Marianela was lying about this. This morning, Gennette authenticated the DMs where she was talking about flirting with Weiner. (She claims she really didn’t flirt with him, but was conducting surveillance on Nikki for Weiner.)

So Tommy told us Marianela was lying, and had nothing. Yet part of what she claimed to have, Gennette just told us exists.

The other half of what Marianela said she had was a set of DMs from Weiner to Nikki. And guess what? There’s another document dump coming tonight, and guess what’s in it?

Seriously, this piece in Time Magazine is either utter bullsh-t, or he is literally incapable of reading and understanding the words of the Constitution and other related laws.  I was so stunned to read this drivel in Time Magazine that I then looked up who the hell Richard Stengel is, and apparently he is their Managing Editor!  And by the time you are done reading this post you will be stunned with the cluelessness on display.

So strap yourself in, we’re going to have an old fashioned fisking.  And it’s a long one, because this piece is one of the most clueless pieces I have ever read on the Constitution or the law generally.

It starts off with the usual liberal claptrap that if the founders were not perfect soothsayers about the future, that this meant that we should just ignore the Constitution:

Here are a few things the framers did not know about: World War II. DNA. Sexting. Airplanes. The atom. Television. Medicare. Collateralized debt obligations. The germ theory of disease. Miniskirts. The internal combustion engine. Computers. Antibiotics. Lady Gaga.

It is a facially ridiculous argument.  Yes, for instance, the founders didn’t know specifically that Adolf Hitler would rise to become the leader of Germany and plunge the world into war (a second time, no less) and murder millions of innocents (especially Jews).  But they knew there was such a thing as war.  And I find it odd that he asserts that the founders didn’t know about the concept of collateral debt, given that Thomas Jefferson endlessly whined about his and indeed the majority of the slave-holding founders were in the same situation (but generally less whiney than Jefferson about the whole thing).  And in fact the existence of the atom has been theorized since Greek times, and verified to a significant extent by chemists in the 17th and 18th centuries.  If you are going to assert that the founders didn’t know about certain things, maybe you should check to see whether they actually knew about them.

The aggressive stupidity continues:

What would the framers say about whether the drones over Libya constitute a violation of Article I, Section 8, which gives Congress the power to declare war? Well, since George Washington didn’t even dream that man could fly, much less use a global-positioning satellite to aim a missile, it’s hard to say what he would think.

In comments, Gennette has consistently asked the most important question that’s on the table right now – the question that the Reid Doc Dump is meant to distract from.

Who is the person behind the accounts of Nikki, Marianela, and John Reid?

They are obviously fake accounts. This has been clear to a number of people for about two weeks now. In that time…

1. not a single piece of evidence has come forward that would establish that those accounts are anything but sock puppets.
2. all the evidence that has come forward just adds to the sock puppet story
   1. The fake photos
   2. Reid coming forward trying to ‘protect his daughter’ when the best protection if they were real would be to stay quiet
   3. the sudden silence of Mrs. Reid replaced by John as the spokesman

The focus as this point SHOULD be on finding out who is behind the fake accounts. That will answer a lot of questions.  But the person or persons behind the fake account doesn’t want to be caught. So, when people are getting close – and people are, I believe – they throw out more nonsense. And suddenly, Gennette becomes the focus again. Or let’s attack the New York Times reporter! It’s such an obvious distraction that I’m shocked it’s working – but 200+ comments can’t be wrong.

Meanwhile, the real hard clues that might lead to the person behind the puppets aren’t even being discussed.

To repeat something I mentioned a couple of days ago – I got a PHONE CALL from the person who CREATED the Starchild account. And that call was full of contradictions, including the statements made by the woman calling that she’d gotten death threats within an hour of her name being posted…but nobody has been able to find her number or even any hard evidence she exists.

That’s significant. It could lead to finding out who is behind this and what their intent was. But somehow a puppet has managed to control the news cycle.

Myself I barely think it is news.  Oh, look he is seeking attention as usual, so he is playing his last card—admitting what everyone knew.  I remember for years seeing people argue about it, and then when he committed that robbery in Vegas, suddenly everyone agreed: he killed Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman.  Seriously no one doubts it.

But if there is anything interesting, it is in the chutzpah involved:

According to the insider, Simpson recently decided to go through with the confession after he was contacted again by one of Oprah’s producers.

‘He told the producer: “Tell Oprah that yes, I did it. I killed Nicole, but it was in self-defence. She pulled a knife on me and I had to defend myself”,’ the insider was quoted as saying.

He reportedly then went on to give a full account of what happened on the night of the murders on June 12 1994.

Really, OJ?  Really? Do you think anyone is going to buy the claim that you committed a double homicide in self defense?

Honestly, I think Oprah shouldn’t be giving this narcissist the time of day.

And all this comes from The Other McCain, who notes that “Don Surber cautions that this story is based on a National Enquirer report.”  You know, a few years ago I assumed that the Enquirer was a piece of trash, but recently…
