Larry Flynt Offers Weiner Job in Hustler Internet Group

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 6:44 pm

No, it’s not a joke. At least . . . it’s not meant as one:

Mr. Weiner:

After having learned of your sudden and compelled resignation from your Congressional post, I would like to make you an offer of employment at Flynt Management Group, LLC in our Internet group.

Hahahahahahahaha. And he’s not kidding:

I cannot emphasize enough the genuineness of this offer. We are a serious corporation which, as you know, has been heavily involved in the political environment of this country for over thirty-five years. . . . Just as we do not undertake insincere political crusades, we do not make insincere job offers.

This is the second Weiner-related post today that sounded like it was coming straight out of the Onion. The first?

Reports on Twitter say that the Capitol police have Weiner’s office and the corridor in the Rayburn Building closed because of a “suspicious package.”

Hahahahahahahahahaha.

Oh, you’re not giving that package due credit.

  1. it’s already been a lot documented that Anthony Weiner is a jerk in the office and that he behaves like a jackass to his staff

    I think Mr. Flynt’s proposal is ill-considered

Right now Anthony needs to focus on sponging off his wife and learning to make tasty low-cost meals I think.

    Too funny

  5. Would this be the same Larry Flynt, who just last month revealed how truly loathsome he is?

Then, he went after Trig, saying, “She [Palin] did a disservice to every woman in America. She knew from the first month of pregnancy that kid was going to be Down’s Syndrome. It’s brain dead. A virtual vegetable.”

…She carries it to all these different political events against abortion, she did it just because she didn’t want to say she’d had an abortion. How long is it going to live? Another 12, 15 years? Doesn’t even know it’s in this world.”

No offense intended, Patterico, but I’m not seeing that as something suitable for humor. People have died of malice because of terrorist bombs, and Congress has been targeted before.

Yes, but in light of the way he kept saying the word “package” …

Well, look. Either you think it’s funny or you don’t. Me, I do.

  8. This whole thing has been funny (with the obvious exception of his wife). Jay Leno says it best, “hypocrisy in any form is funny.”

Flynt was on the Adam Carolla podcast recently, and revealed that Laura Ingraham “liked to take a shot to the face.” I have to admit, I kind of dug that picture in my mind’s eye. I’m not a porn guy, but I am a man. Maybe Flynt can work something out for Anthony Weiner and Ashley whatserface (Elliot Spitzer’s bim). This story is awesome, and I commend Patterico’s Pontifications and Breitbart for showing it the light of day. After watching Charles Rangel and Larry Craig tough it out, my only marvel is that Weiner had enough shame to do the right thing and resign.

Lastly, I think a job with Flynt would actually be a step up from politics. It is honest work, people want the product, and it is a choice for everyone involved.

  9. Weiner only resigned after he got a good enough deal that would increase his earnings by five before he quit. His district would re-elect him no problem.

So the Dems got a deal for him that would make it attractive for him to quit.

    And it happned.

  10. But on topic, Weiner seems to like his Congressional gig mostly as a way to get chicks. He seems to like porn stars.

Couldn’t the Hustler gig do the exact same thing for him, including providing an income?

What’s he got to lose? His reputation?

If anything, I think it could only rise with this move, because people would at least see it as consistent with his true character, and legal work to boot.

  12. Forget magazines, he should go into movies with Ginger.
Think about the great porn movie titles–with Weiner as the star.
The Incredible Shrinking Weinerman.. oh wait, thats not right.

  13. Since no one has given a tinker’s damn about Flynt in 20 years, at least he may be happy.

  14. The leftys in NJ are calling on Chris Christie to raose taxes on millionaire wingnuts.

    Larry Flynt is a POS.

  15. New Hustler movie: “Stimulus package” featuring Anthony Weiner and Ginger Lee?

/Title is already taken for a ghey pr0n flick featuring an 0bama lookalike violating a guy dressed up as Uncle Sam.

  17. Hmmmm.

Suspicious vehicle found with suspicious device inside, at the Pentagon, during the WOT. Terrorism suspected. Jokes developing …

  18. Yes, a sense of humor is a bad thing.

    JD (380601)

  19. Nah, it’s not a bad thing, JD. And people joke about all sorts of serious things: war, death, guns, etc. It isn’t a bad thing, also, if someone finds a joke ill-advised that they make their opinion and reason for it known. This breaking news story just underscores what I wrote earlier.

I never said that the joke wasn’t funny. Only that the WOT stirs up a lot of emotions in people, particularly in the capital, where they are always a “high value target” to the enemy.

However, I’m just commenting. It’s just my impression.
